Speaking of which....

Read up on a guy named Sean Bell. Probably (hopefully) you've already heard of this horrific story.

And it happened last November! Sad, sad thing.

This reminds me of the party my brother threw a couple months ago. The only black people in the neighborhood were lucky enough to move in next to a cop stare . Somehow (we still don't even know, he has no teenage kids to tell him about our party) he found out we were throwing a party and the day before it happened, he said that if he saw more than 3 cars near our house he would call more police.

Now, 3 cars near a person's house does not necessarily imply that there's a big teenage party. And the police ended up being called on us twice between 7 and 11:30 pm (the second group of police broke up the party), which never happened to anyone else's party in our town. A few weeks later, the neighbor across the street threw a party with so many people that the street was backed up and my mom had to take an alternative route to get home. There were no cops ******** them, obviously.

Lol. We were ABOUT to call the police on them. But we didn't want to stoop to their level, and we all knew the party wouldn't get broken up if we did call.

OH! I just thought I'd tell everything about this. Nothing to do with me, but I think I should tell.

Apparently, there is going to be a spin-off series of Roots.

It's called, Roots: The Next Generation.

So let's discuss,

"What is that going to be about?"

"Will it be as good as the first Roots, even though Alex Haley had nothing to do with this one?"

"Will it even be as popular since it'll only be shown (I think) on TVone, a channel that a lot of people don't even have or know about?"

"Will people in this generation even care about the new Roots as much as the last generation cared about the first Roots, seeing as black people back then were more pro-black/afrocentric, and today they in general care about a lot less things besides the hip hop culture?"

And please, more people need to come into this thread. Please. I mean, it's nice to talk to Ryusuke, but it's better to have a discussion with more people involved! There were more people when this thread started out.

Do you have to be a mod/captain to invite people you deem worthy into this guild?

We are not going to leave this guild! Can we invite people into the guild? I don't mean commenting them saying "Join the Guild!". I mean that official invitation. Maybe if I got more people to join that would talk about this stuff, we wouldn't need our own guild.

Besides, I don't have 10k. I'm questing, you know that.

OF COURSE, I do know a lot of people from the Sony Boondocks Message Boards that I could get to sign up for Gaia and join the guild. Maybe. They might not like Gaia, though.

Damn. Kinda wanted to run a guild... Ok, since you're not questing anything else, you can raise the money for the guild.

I've seen people in the ED who seemed like they would fit into this type of guild that we wanna make. Maybe once we make it, we'll invite them.

See, I don't get what you mean by screen and choose... like, people we want to recruit as mods and helpers? Or people we just want as members? Because for members, I'll just find people in the ED. Idk what we'll do to find people who'll help us...

Omg. As a name for the Guild, how about one of these:

Africans Fighting Racism & Oppression [A.F.R.O.]
Black Revolutionary Underground Heroes [B.R.U.H.]
And... what was that last one? It spelled out [B.R.O.]. Was it Black Revolutionary Organization?

So one of those names should be good...

My friend superficial ecstasy will make all our graphics.

And we'll debates and stuff, but we'll make a separate forum within the guild to talk about the Boondocks.

And if you want, we can hold contests (within the guild) to raise money.

Yeah this is gonna be great...

I wanna be able to do that... so how are we to go about screening? Should we post something in a forum to recruit people to run our guild? Like, "Help Wanted" or something?
