Kaori turned, stopping in mid motion as she'd been about to smack Kai's arm. But she'd paused, now staring at Pheobe. "I-it's ok! He's just dumb, is all." She grinned at Kai, who glared in response, and faced the girl once more. "Tree sprite?" she echoed curiously, then moved on fairly quick. "And... what's that other plant? ...Enseia root? Think it's too late to try again?"

"Hell no," Kai suddenly growled. "That s**t stings."

A sudden smirk split across Kaori's face as she stared at him, hands on her hips. "What's this..? Kai's being a baby, scared of a little stinging?" When his expression changed to an angry pout, she knew she'd won. The turned back to face Pheobe, smiling happily as she waited for a reply.

However, a voice was drifting angrily through Kai's head. Kill you. You're going to let her talk to you like that? Kill her!! Kai's hand twitched, but otherwise he didn't respond to the voice's commands.

And Kei, the dragon, was sitting carelessly beside them all, just glancing between their faces.

When Kaori told her not to worry about it, she perked up and smiled. She was glad that she hadn't caused the fight. She then looked back to the boys hand at the mention of her herbal suggestions. She giggled softly when the girl teased the boy about being babyish about the stinging plant. She looked to the boy and smiled at him, though she wasn't sure if he cared that much.

"The juice of the Insipia flowers is good for treating poison, however," explained Pheobe, showing off her herblore skills, "it stings because it's highly acidic. The Enesia root, when powdered becomes mildly basic, and neutralizes the acidity of the Insipia juice. It also increases the hydroxide content, which is what increases it's potency. One more thing, the juice from the flower is better than the juice from the leaves. I could tell because the flowrrs juice is yellow as opposed ot the green of the leaves juice."

Pheobe closed her eys briefly and felt around the greenhouse, searching for the Enesia root. Pheobe could tell even the most similar species of plants apart by feeling alone, and it was one of her prided specialties, since she had grown up knowing almost nothign but plants. She found the plant and walked away from the boy and girl briefly, returning with a handful of the root, as well as an Insipia flower.

"Here you go," she said smiling at the two of them, "If you need anything else, feel free to ask." It then dawned on Pheobe that they had been discussing poison antidotes, and she hadn't seen how bad the poisoning was. "Omigosh, " she exclaimed, "how bad is the poisoning? I forgot to ask, and if it's severe then this cure wouldn't be potent enough. Please tell me it's not severe," she said, a slight hint of panic in her eyes.

Kaori groaned, hearing the explanation. She'd messed up so much! She plastered her face against her hands and stood like that for a second or two, until she heard the girl walk off. She parted her fingers, peering through with firey red eyes as the girl wandered off, then returned again soon after with a handful of roots and a flower.

Kaori stared for a short while, taking note of their appearances and scent so she could hopefully remember for future reference. She then glanced to Pheobe's face, smiling thankfully at her. She opened her mouth to verbally voice her gratitude, when she suddenly started to go into what appeared to be a slight panic.

She blinked a few times, then waved her hand dismissively. "It's fine. It just happened, so it shouldn't have had time to get into his system too badly yet. Besides, it's just a small bite." The bite certainly didn't look small, as blood continued to drip at a fairly rapid pace from Kai's hand. But he was still scowling, and didn't appear to be at all dizzy or showing any other signs of poisoning either.

So Kaori blinked, then looked back to the girl. "Ok, so we mix it..?"

A look of relief appeared on Pheobes face as Kaori told her that it had only just happened. She smiled at them to express her relief. She looked to the roots in her hand, then shuffled around in her bag, producing a mortar and pestle.

"Leave it to me," she said smiling, overjoyed that she could show off so much. Back home things like this were common knowledge, and it made her feel good to know her knowledge could be put to use. "After all, plants are my speciality."

She made a small gesutre with her hand and a root rose up out of the ground. She placed the mortar on top of the root and began to grind the roots into a fine powder. When it was fine enough, she squeezed the juice out of the flower and stirred it into the powder. When then set down the mortar and pulled the oak staff off her back. She muttered something, and a small, twig like branch grew out of the staff. It touched the gelatenous mixture and glowed pink briefly, then the branch retracted. She replaced the staff on her back and picked up the salve she had just made. She gestured once more and the root sank back into the ground, leaving a small amount of upturned earth behind.

"There you go," she said, turning to the two again, "All done. I added my own little extra touch, so now it should speed up the skins healing too. Just rub the salve directly on the wound and it should do it's job nicely. Good to know I can be of help," she added with a smile.

Kaori watched in complete silence, her eyes wide with fascination. Even Kai was watching, though he was trying to seem like he wasn't interested. He was doing a pretty good job, but after a while it'd become obvious he was watching from the corner of his eye. Kaori found it amazing how she'd just summoned the root like that. Kaori could only make fire! Granted, she could make the fire only harm those she wished, but it still didnt' have useful healing properties.

When Pheobe finished, Kaori carefully accepted the bowl from her, drawing it into her clawed hands. She bowed her head pretty low to the girl. "Thank you very much!" Then she turned, facing Kai with a sudden stern look. "Kay, hold out your hand."

Kai hesitated, then mumbled something under his breath. Though he actually listened this time, reluctantly holding his hand towards her. As Pheobe had said, it didn't sting, but he couldn't help feeling odd about that pink glow. Apparently it'd heal his wounds faster... He growled under his breath as he watched Kaori apply the stuff to the back of his hand, then to the palm, before finally withdrawing. He met Kaori's eyes for a second when she'd finished, glared, then glanced to Pheobe.

A long, drawn out pause, and he muttered in a half growl, "Thanks."

Pheobe smiled brightly as Kaori took the newly made salve from her. She watched and giggled slightly at the boys reluctance. At recieving thanks from the two of them, Pheobe blushed a little, seeing as how she wasn't used to praise, as what she was doing was common knowledge back home. She grined through the blush and looked up at them.

"It's not a problem," she said, "It's good to know that my skills are useful to someone, since back home everyone could do things like that for themselves."

Pheobe continued smiling at them a little while longer, then a thought occurred to her. If the two of them had been at Ria before, then they would surely know some interesting htings about the place, and Pheobe was alway curious about the history of where she was.

"Actually," she said modestly, "If it's not too much trouble I have a slight favour to ask. You see, I'm knew around here and don't know much about this school. It seems to me that you two have been here a while, so I was wondering mayber if you could show me around?" Pheobe hoped they would say yes, eager to find out about her new home for the time.

Kaori grinned at Kai when he thanked the girl, and then reached out, carefully tugging his hand towards her again. She reached into her pocket and pulled out, surprisingly, a roll of bandages. She wrapped a few layers around Kai's hand and then used her fangs to tear the end before carefully tying it together. After her last stay at Ria, she'd definitely realized it was wise to always carry a weapon, and always carry bandages.

Kai tugged lightly at the bandages, a few minor adjustments for comfort, but Kaori was an expert bandage tyer so he didn't have to change much. He finally let his hand fall back by his side, and fixed Pheobe with a blank stare upon hearing her question.

Then, wordlessly, he turned to leave. However, he suddenly went rigid, shuddering when Kaori's hand clamped around his tail. He growled but didn't move. Kaori, ignoring him but still with her hand on his tail, turned to face Pheobe. "We'd love to," she nodded. "Any place in particular you wanna check out first?"

Pheobe watched the interatcions between Kai and Kaori with mild interest, and giggled at the expression on Kai's face as if he were being nursed by his mother. She gasped silently when Kaori grabbed the boys tail whne he tried to leave, but giggled, seeing as how it seemed so funny that such a tough looking boy was being jerked around by her.

"Well," began Pheobe upon hearing the response form Koari, "I've always been big on history, so is there anywhere that has significance or important historical meanign around here?"

Pheobe specialized in plants, but she was always eager to learn about History, as the subject fascinated her to know what things were like before her time and also thought there was much to be gained from ancient knowledge.

Kaori listened quietly, then paused as she thought about where they could go. "Um, I think... this school is really new. The last one was destroyed during a huge battle." She paused, frowning to herself. "So I guess... none of it's old anymore." Come to think of it, this new school might have even been built in a new place.

She glanced towards Kai uncertainly, seeking some sort of agreement. He just glared at her, then suddenly reached out, jerking his tail from her grasp and holding it in front of him. "I don't know," he replied flatly. He just wanted to go take a nap, honestly, not show new students around.

Kaori frowned at him, then dropped her hands by her sides as she faced Pheobe again. "I guess you could always visit the library and read about Ria?"

Pheobe gaped at Kaori upon hearing about the previous destruction of the school. She hadn't known about Ria before two months ago when she recieved her invitation, and was not aware that this was a reconstructed school.

"Destroyed?" Pheobe asked in amazement, "Why? What happened? What were they fighting about? Who won?" It occurred to Pheobe that if the two of them knew about such a destruction, then might have been there, and asking them about it might bring up unpleasant memories.

Pheobe looked at the two of them after being silent for a moment, "Sorry about that," she said, rubbing the back of her head nervously, "You don't have to answer that. Although, the library sounds like a good bet to me, but I've never been there yet, so care to show me the way?" she asked.

Kaori blinked, then started to reply when Pheobe apologized. Kaori stared in confusion, then laughed quietly. "It's fine," she nodded. "I don't know all the details. Everyone was made to evactuate. But two peple were fighting in another realm and awakened some kind of beast in the process. He ripped through into this world and began attacking people. In the end, the old headmaster sacraficed him to seal it away, and then one of the people who started the fight rebuilt the school and became the new headmaster."

She took a breath after the explanation, smiling a little uneasily. "But everything's ok now..." she concluded with a small nod. She glanced towards Kai, who chose to remain silent, then to Kei, who stared quietly up at her, his wings giving a small twitch.

"...ok, to the library. This way." She turned and started off towards the greenhouse doors, her tail flicking behind her as she walked. Kai followed after her, and Kei trailed along her side, just like a reptilian dog.

Pheobe was still curious about the previous destruction of the school and thought about asking further, but decided against it since that's why they were heading to the Library. She was also curious about the headmaster; his signature had been on her letter, but other than that she had never met him or had any contact with him whatsoever. She wondered what type of person he was. She figured that since he had been the one who rebuilt the school, he was probably a good guy.

Pheobe pondered her thoughts for a while, but snapped back to reality when Koari said 'this way' to the library. She followed behind her and was momentarily distracted by the swaying motion of the girls tail. She wondered if the girl might be an animal spirit, since those were the only things she had ever seen with tail and ears like that. Pheobe thought about asking her, but decided to save it for another time, simply following quietly behind the two.

(to the library then, lead on spazzy biggrin )

Kaz looked down and noticed the greenhouse. "Let's go there then!" He called out and felt Shadown lurch, closing his wings and dropping into a dive straight for the greenhouse. "YAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" Kaz shouted out of nowhere, actually enjoying the speed of the dive for the first time ever.

Korro sighed and tossed her head lightly. "Boys and speed... When will they learn..." She laughed. She had no problems with speed but thought it was more dangerous. Unfortunately, it was the only way she'd keep up with Shadow.

At the last second, both lions opened their wings and landed lightly in front of the greenhouse.

Mai jumped slightly, surprised by Kaz's sudden yell. Her ears flattened back uncertainly as she glanced at him, eyes following their rapid descent. Then she was suddenly falling too, and she leaned down, almost laying along Korro's back. Her legs were tight around the lion's sides, keeping herself balanced and in place so she wouldn't fall off. That wouldn't be good. She felt almost like she was more aerodynamic this way, and that was a good thing, right? Her head jerked just slightly at the abrupt stop and she leapt nimbly from Korro's back, stretching her arms above her head. She thought briefly of her luggage, left sitting just outside the registration office, but soon figured that if anyone stole it, she could track them down by scent. So she turned to grin at at Kaz, tone almost knowing. "See? Wasn't so bad, right?"

"Not as bad as I thought it was." Kaz said with a smile as he climbed off of Shadow's back. "Well, let's see what's inside..." he said and opened the door to the greenhouse, walking in. He looked around and noticed that alot of plants were the same, probably being mass produced or maybe any classes there were dealing with them. They had an interesting smell that was amplified by the sheer number, but he wasn't sure what the effect on Mai or the lions would be.
