"Hawk-eye vision?" He asked, looking at her. "Not many people could read a tag from so far away." He walkeed over and grabbed one of the crates. "And, you're welcome. I just didn't like seeing a citizen being treated with such rudeness." He shrugged. "Not all of us are perfect gentlemen."

Lillian scratched the back of her head a bit "Well...to avoid going snowblind in ze north me and other young villagers were put through "exercises" to help our eyes adjust to both be used to extreme light conditions and be able to hunt prey in zoes conditions. Needless to say, ones eyes are near superhumanly able in normal conditions after zat..."

He nodded. "I see..." He then stepped aside so that she could get a crate, then the other three move forward. Once they'd grabbed their crates, he led the way back to the ship, so that they could pack the crates then return to gather the rest.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw his two brothers talking and mentioning "the young Echidna general" and "the Chrias Jewels." Curious, he walked over to join them. "What are you two talking about?"
"Our opponent. He's young, no older then you, but he's a real thorn because of his skills and the Chrias Jewels he carries." Jay replied, looking at him. "I hope you never have to face him." He ruffled his younger brother's bangs, making him scramble for his hands, then laughed.
"Nothing for you to worry about, Miles!" Renn said, grinning. "We'll make sure he can't reach you and keep him behind those hills!" He pointed to the far hills, where the young Echidna General hid with his Army.
"I see..." He said, nodding. "Well, I'd best be going. Keep up the good work, my brothers." They embraced, then he went to join the others.

Reia watched the three as they spoke and couldn't help but cry for how often he'd had to watch his brothers go. What was this horrible feeling of foreboding inside of her? Why did she fear...this would end?
Was it right, to take him away?

Lillian looked out the window at miles, then looked over to reia curiously "Is everything ok, reia? you seem distressed..."

Reia looked at her and was about to speak, but Miles walked on board and she held her tounge. What if she would just jinx it? She buckled herself in and remained silent, her eyes on the fortress as they took off into space again.
Miles noticed that she seemed down and walked over to talk to her, but the two kids caught his attention beforehand. "What are you two doing?"
"Uhhhhhm....Enjoying the view?" Leo said, closing the window tightly while his brother scooted back into his seat. "Y'know, feeling the wind before we went back to the ARK..."
Miles nodded. "I understand. But, we're nearing the point where the air is stale. Don't open it again during our flight, understood?"
"Got it!" Both boys said, saluting.
Miles chuckled and shook his head, then looked over at Reia to discover that she'd started reading a book. Maybe it wasn't best to disturb her, so he headed back to his seat and watched as they left Earth. 'I wonder...is there another world like ours?'

Lillian laughed at the two kids, smirking rather evilly "Don't make me scare you two with tales about explosive decompression..." She turned to miles, thinking rather deeply for a moment "Well...ze universe is very large, and zere are many stars like ze sun, yes? In such a large test inviroment, ze chances of that are at ze very least possible." She isn't all looks, of course.

"We know about that, Ms. Lillian!" Leo said, nodding. "That doesn't scare us in the slightest!"
"Huh?" Miles said, startled by her voice. 'Oh...was I thinking out loud?' He thought, blinking. Then he looked back out the window. "I suppose so. But, what are the chances of us ever seeing it?"

"Maybe..." He mused, looking at Earth again. "There're more planets then this one? A whole galaxy that we've yet to discover?" He seemed excited, as if the prospect of other world was a novelty.
In truth, it really was. The possibility was both low and high, about a 50/50 chance. And either of those 50s could lead to the positive answer. 'After all, is there any proof otherwise?' He thought, nodding.
Reia watched them talk, amused by his giddy excitement. Then she looked out her window and gasped. "It's the ARK! We're home!" She exclaimed, prompting cheers from the two boys, who'd never seen life outside of the safety of the space colony.

Miles nodded, all traces of his excitement faded. Once they were stable and landed in the docking bay, he walked to the back of the ship to pick up the crates. "Lillian, please go and find a cart for these. Reia, will you come help me, please?"
"Sure!" She said, getting out of her seat, eager to help. He looked so down when they were down there, she couldn't help but be glad that they were back at work again.

Lillian wheeled over a large cart, looking at reia and miles. "Say, do we need to take any special caution with any of ze components?"

"Only once they're out of the box. They've already been packed with a soft surface, so they won't break on the way." Miles said, then opened one of them to show her the large cushion supporting the vials bottles inside. Then he closed it up tightly and set it on the cart, strapping it in with all the other after they were placed.
"Alright. Let's get to the lab, and quickly." He said, wheeling the cart towards the lift.

Lillian walked alongside them to the labs, occasionally stealing a glance at the box "I'm curious...vat exactly did we get from ze fortress doctor?"

He smiled, then nodded. "All of these are materials we will need for Project Emerald. It was very hard to gather this much, but it'll be worth it." He nodded, looking at the crate.
"But, what is inside it?" Reia asked, curious as well. What had he risked his life to gain?
"Many things. Right now, Sonic is incomplete." He smiled fondly. "Soon, though...he will be part of our family, and one of the key players to bringing peace to our tormented world."
Reia blinked. "Huh...What's 'Project Emerald?' A new project you and Professor Robotnik are working on?" She asked, looking at the strange crates.
