I'm amazed you haven't already. 3nodding That sounds incredibly mean, but I don't mean it that way.

Now then, what are we supposed to be talking about?

well, my birthday was 2 days ago(july 22nd) and i got a new camera! the canon eos digital rebel xt(the kit). so i am quite pleased! xd

i find it increasingly scarey that on my next birthday, i'll be turning 18! eesh, where has the time gone?? sweatdrop

Huh.. I think that's the camera my dad uses. Crazy.. I'd have to look though. I kinda smirk in the face of digital, though.. to me, film looks better. *Shrug*

well, it really all depends. digital is much more efficiant and is more commonly used now-a-days. and are mandatory for most careers in photography. but film cameras are also nice...just more annoying. i have a really old canon film camera, and it will be good enough to use when i do photography in college.

Well, my dad and I had a little contest to see which camera took better shots over spring break when I went to New York.. all of his shots turned out SLIGHTLY more grainy than mine, and we took about thirty identical images...

nope. that still really all depends on the photographer, and the mp. and all that stuff. the two different camera types really have nothing to do with it.

Alright, try it for yourself. Take a picture with a normal film camera, doing your best to make it perfect.. then do the same with your digital. Trust me, the film will be less grainy and more three dimensional. I've seen it done with my Photo teacher, it's very apparent, if you're willing to look.

of course i'm willing too look!! if you're talking about printing the pictures, then yes! i've developed many pictures myself in a darkroom and i have also printed many digital pics. it all depends on the mp and quality of printer, and such and such. there is so much more freedom with a digital camera, and it's defenitly more convienent.

That may be true, but film is both cheaper and more fun. (With digital, no insanely expensive photo-quality printerpaper, and no printer... professionally done film isn't that expensive and it's often beautiful.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 29, 2005 6:38 am

well, i actually think digital is cheaper because on film you have to develop all your pics and you can't edit them and stuff. on digital you can take a lot and print off only the ones you want. also, film is expensive and you can't take as many pictures and if you wanted to show them to anyone you have to scan them. so you'd have to pay for a scanner. even if you were to develop them yourself, darkroom equipment is expensive and it takes a lot of work to get the pictures just right. besides, with digital, you don't have to print off the pictures at home. you can bring the memory card to a camera store and it usually has those machines where you can edit them and print them off for better results.

here is a couple pics i took a few minutes ago on my rebel:

Are you kidding? There are purple lines stretching across the sky in the last one! Take more than a cursory look and it's obvious!

And the flowers are both so pixelated I can see each individual color change! Disgusting!
