Ahh~ The thought of never to work again~~ And I won't get chased by fangirls if I'm not famous... stare Wait... *puts hand to ear and notices a stampede of girls coming with pencils and autograph books* ZOMG! I knew I shouldn't have entered this guild...! gonk *starts running where his "little" legs could carry him*

Yes, and I put the zeros there for a reason. *Ed whispers: To annoy and confuse people!* *Clears her throat* Ahem. As I was saying...!

Well, I would too, and I hate milk. But I just have to drink it, because of parents. It's not making me any taller, and it's supposed to. It's also supposed to make your bones strong, but whenever I turn my left wrist, I hear a cracking sound. eek What if I have to get "Earth Automail"? gonk
~~~
Hey, did you know that Berlin, Germany was where Edward was in the movie, where he met Noah? Wherever he died (I think it was somewhere in Liore, in that underground city), he was then transferred to Berlin. At that time, in 1923, Hitler made a revolution. Ed was 18.
I believe in parallel worlds! One day I will get to Amestris! (Shamballa!) No really, I do.
Ahahaha. Yes, I understand the reasoning.
lol. I don't have to drink milk. I still do, though. xD I actually LIKE milk. ZOMG, that happens to me also! My wrists crack all the time and stuff. It's probably because I drink TOO MUCH MILK. Let's all pretend that makes sense.
I thought it was Munich. (OceanX once discussed making a game called "Munich" that followed the movie. I doubt it would be as good as BBI, though.) No, I'm pretty sure it was Munich... I just checked Wikipedia, and it says Munich also.
Anyway, I didn't care for the movie. The colours were so washed out. Was it on this Guild that we were discussing this? I can't remember! gonk
Er, because of that, I don't really want to go to Shamballa. I'd prefer to just go to Japan, if you must know. xD
Ohmygod, new posters today! So many! (:
I guess I can see why some people wouldn't like it, but I still do. xD
Yea, my wrists do that every time I bend them a certain way. My mom thinks it's creepy, but I think it's a little cool. Hehehe. I know people who crack their fingers one by one, though, just to be annoying. D:
I am almost 100% certain it's Munich. I'll tell you why: The Thule Society, Thule-Gesellschaft, was founded and run in Munich, not Berlin. (That's the society that we see in the movie, running around and doing kinda creepy things...)
Lol, I know that a parallel world is on the brink of existence, and yes, same here. I would just rather go to Japan. The thought of seeing FMA everywhere... just makes me wanna cry. (Tears of joy, of course.) xD
I've heard it was Berlin though. If you know your history, Hitler tried to create a revolution in Germany but was unsuccessful. Because of that, he was supposed to be in jail for 5 years but was let out one year early for "good behavior." Look what happens when you let out a guy who almost took over the world... stare He was also in the movie. I researched when Hitler did this, and if it was 1923 (When Ed was 18.) but it wasn't. Hitler didn't do this in that year, but it was shown in the movie.
I'm kinda confused. In one of the OAVs, the kids + Grandpa Ed one, it says that in 2005, he would be 100, so do 2005 - 100 = 1905. (Let's just change this to 2007 - 102 = 1905. So he was born in the year 1905.) But Edward transmuted his mother and burned down his house when he was 10 right...? But why does his watch say don't forget 3. Oct. 10? (This is pure logic, 10 is abbreviated for 1910.) Did something happen when he was 5?
Hehehe, yea. xD It's a nice thought to entertain, though. Yes, the idea of seeing FmA around every corner and in every shop window makes me all giddy. *squee*
Anyway, the movie isn't very good with the actual timeline of history. You know? There's a whole lot that they left out and yea, like you said, the years aren't quite right. I don't know where you would have heard that it was Berlin, but I'm still sticking to the theory that it's Munich. I think there's evidence of that in the movie also, but I forget. I might watch it again, to see. xD
I don't know much about the OAVs. I've seen them, but I wasn't noticing that it was 2005 in the kids + Grandpa!Ed one. The official timeline says that Ed was born in 1899 = the movie was made in 1999? THAT MAKES NO SENSE. xD Either the makers of the movie were screwed up, or the year in the movie is somehow wrong. I don't know, sorry. (And actually, in the manga, it's 3 Oct. 11...)
Anyway, I don't think something else happened when he was five or anything. I'm going to assume that's total fluke. But I have no idea. I'm really sorry. xD
I see. I've also seen that we've gotten totally off-topic in this thread... sweatdrop
Most mangas change drastically from the actual animes. Sometimes I like to finish both, in case I miss out on something or... just... become an otaku of FMA again! I used to think weird about this show, like "what kind of japanese show has a character named Edward?" one day I watched it. Then I doubted myself ever since. gonk
What timeline says that Ed was born in 1899? These years are screwed up, from the series. I watched episode 1 in japanese, and I saw some words on the bottom that said 1910 (when he transmuted his mother.) Either it was in plain english letters, or it was in japanese characters. The number system + characters/ symbols for Japanese and Chinese are basically the same, and I'm chinese. 3nodding And he was 10 when he transmuted her right? All this time I thought either he was born in 1900 or 1905, or the translator of the OAV sucked.
Uh, that's quite all right. Have you seen the other threads? At least we're still talking about FmA...
Yea, and the FmA manga is totally no exception. I read a review on some website that said the anime "runs generally parallel to the manga." I was like, "WTF KINF OF A JOKE IS THAT??" For one, the nature of the Homunculi, one of the most important parts of the whole series, is completely different. Their ages are different. The story itself is different. And lamer. And OMG THE ENDING IS TERRIBLE IN THE ANIME. I astronomically disliked about the last 10 episodes of the anime. The manga is so much better. Okay, end rant.
Hahaha. When my cousin was telling me about it, she was describing it just terribly, and I had this warped impression of the manga. And I got Ed and Al confused until she told me, "Ed is short. Al is metal." xD The way she described Roy was completely different than his actual self. xD At first, I really didn't want to read it. BUT OMG, I got hooked. HOOKED, I tell you!
Um, the official timeline that is in one of the fanbooks. I can't remember which one, now... D: Zomgfta is currently in the process of putting it up on their website, if you want to see. Yea, the anime and manga years are different. I'm working towards a Japanese/Chinese major/minor respectively, and so I can read the numbers as well. You're not messed up; it's different whether you're going from the anime or the manga.
xD Hehehe. Though translators sometimes mess with your heads, I think you're probably safe on this one.
I wrote too much again. xD
No, it's quite all right. It just shows me that you're interested in what I'm talking about. Though in real life, no one is. (I would elaborate on that, but this isn't the time for sorrow. You seem smart. I'll tell you about it.) I have a friend that doesn't talk much, but when she does, it's for a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. She also makes up strange words. For example, in the Chinese/ Buddhism religion (which isn't a very strict one, and she's chinese like me) she says she believes in "Lady Goddess." Goddesses are ladies... stare And who the hell is that? (Don't worry, I'm not mad. I just say the "h word" alot.) Buddha is our main god. There are other ones, but they're specific, and specialize in one thing only.
I'd love to read the manga, but the problem is that I have a slow internet connection and it takes about 3 minutes to load each page.
My birthday is on monday. I forgot to tell my friend who's buying me a present to get me the last volume of FMA which is 16, the chapter(s) called "The mystery of Mei Chan." Now I'll never get to read that extra due to the slow internet connection I have. crying
Here's the link to the FMA Kids OAV: FMA Kids OAV
Human Body Ingredients. I found this on Wikipedia, but I'm not sure that it's right. They forgot about Ammonia, lime (not the fruit), and some others. Look at it. It says "uranium" but the Elrics in the beginning (and end, somewhat) of the movie, were trying to destroy it but it's found in the human body? FMA can be so confusing and inaccurate at times. Or this time, it could be Wikipedia. domokun
Oh, and Hitler tried to create a revolution in 1936, not 1923 as it says in the movie.
I was just looking at your signature as I was editing this post (Boot. It's what's for dinner)... and that's Ling? That's Ling? I've seen her before, but I thought she was a boy. O__o
OMG, I know what you mean. Last year, at Animethon (I mean, at ANIMETHON, one would at least hope people would listen to your anime rants) I was talking about FmA constantly. xD And even my friends were ignoring me. It was kind of sad. Yes, this is why I enjoy being on Gaia. The people here tend to sometimes hear what you're saying... I mean, if I try to talk to my parents about FmA/alchemy/philosophy/military, they just kind of stare. I think I was adopted. xD
(By the way, elaborate on your story as much as you like! I do it all the time online, and I definitely don't mind if you say something a little off-topic!)
... Lady... Goddess...? Hmmm. I can see where you're coming from. D: It doesn't make a lot of sense to me, either. Yea, I don't know very much about Buddhism, but at least I know that much. xD
Ohhh. I completely thought, before you mentioned that, that you had already read the manga. Hahaha. It's all coming together now.
Yea, when I first read the manga, I was reading it on an Internet viewing thing, not by downloading the chapters, and liekwhoa, it took me forever. xD My Internet connection was pretty crappy at the time, so yea. I completely know what you mean. xD
OMG HAPPY BIRTHDAY! <33 Wow, Volume 16 is already out where you are? *cry* Wait, I think we already discussed this. Hahaha. Ohh. Yes, when/if Volume 16 comes out here, I'll have to read it also. (Even though I've already read the chapters online, hehehe~)
Weird. You're right about the years, though. I can't understand it! SDmkl. Maybe it was a mistake made by the people who make the OAV. I mean, I trust the timeline used in the manga, since Arakawa-sensei should certainly know what year Ed was born in. xD Still, it's weird.
Yea, I'm not sure I'd trust that, since the human body contains ammonia and lime for sure. However, I don't know about uranium. I know that at the end of the movie, they were trying to destroy it, but I thought that was related to a uranium bomb of some kind... because uranium in small quantites can create HUGE POWER liekomg. I really don't know that much, though.
Hahaha, yea. The movie changed historical facts to make it fit the movie plot better... (It's kind of annoying, isn't it?)
Uh. Ling is a guy, yes. Does the picture make him look that girly? Do you really think so? Yes, hahahah! He is a guy! You are right! xD
I'd say more, but I am irreversibly amused. ^__^
