PrettyPrettyPeppermint omg, I know the feeling. I just went from third chair second band as a freshman to third chair top band as a sophomore. I beat out two seniors and 3 juniors in that band and all of the other sophs are in bottom band. All of the flutes hate me now because they all like one of the sophs I beat. They say that he "deserved it more" and he was "much better than me". Funny coming from people sitting below me lol Ohhh, we have a junior girl who ALWAYS gets first. But she's been playing since she knew how to pick one up and gets lessons from college professors and everything. We don't hate her, she's too nice. xD It was really funny in my case because everyone knows I'm not the best player alive, but when I beat out all the other girls who have been playing the harder music longer than I have... well, I suppose it was just shaming to them. Then again they blame it on senority. Our chairs are based on score, not senority. So it's kind of funny when they try to pull that card.

PrettyPrettyPeppermint Syrinx....It is very slow and pretty but also modern, If I can find a recording I'll post it, I love the song. I found you in the "How many people here can really call themselves musicians?" forum, lol. Edit: Found it Here I like Syrinx alot. I play it when I need to get frustration out. 3nodding I'm Novel of Tragedy, I'm actually a guy, and my irl name is Max. I've played flute for five years, and I'm a junior. I also play piccolo, and sometimes I think that i'm better at piccolo than I am at flute. I'm currently working on Vivaldi's piccolo concerto in C major, and i'm playing Mozart's Concerto in G, because it's the all state audition piece this year. I'm very good at flute. I study with the top teacher in my state. Last night she actually told me that if I play the Concerto in G at my audition like I did in my lesson last night, I have a really good chance of making first chair at all state. That's actually a really scary thought. Because it's a lot of pressure, because the current "best" high school flute player in my state is like, worshipped by all the other best flute players in the state. But this summer her teacher did tell me that I could easily beat her at all state and become better than her this year....which is...well, kind of cool and scary. Anyway, yeah, i love the flute, and I play on going to conservatory to study flute performance after high school.

xd Hey Aaron! well, you could play on your own---you could always rent a piccolo from a local music store of you don't want to buy one yet.

Yeah, new england conservatory is really sweet. They have Jeanne Baxtresser, who i've always dreamed of studying with. Plus the orchestra is amazing because they have the best string program in the country.

Hey everyone! I'm Emy-Lou-Chan, but you may call me Emmy for short [everyone in my guard does when they get my name right]. I've played flute for four years, and this is my first year on piccolo [and probably my last since I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it during high school]. I'm in middle school, but I'm top flute [thus is why I got piccolo].
Nice to meet you all!

I'm Bridge! I've played flute for 8 years now, piccolo for two and I'm first chair piccolo and flute in our high school band. I'm a senior there.
I know it sounds terrible, but we have a really small school (less than 500 students) and when I was a freshman our band had only 9 people. Ha! We've grown since then, and now we're somewhere around 35 students in our band. This is concert, marching, and jazz band all mixed together.
Nice to meet you all!

I'm Kayla and I've been playing flute for seven years, and I played piccolo in middle school, and my last year of high school. I'm trying to find somewhere to continue my music, since I recently graduated, because I would love to be a flautist forever.
