"Well, if he wants to be part of this band, he'll have to do things the right way. He can't just be a silent jerk." Cecile folded her arms. "No matter how good or how cute you think he is."

Habit wibbled pathetically at her. "But we need a drummer, and we haven't heard anyone that good, yet. Pleeeease, Cecile, can't we just call him?"

"No." It was a little too late for that anyways. The number was soggy and torn in leftover mashed potatoes. Though, as they all knew, Cecile had an excellent memory, especially for numbers and dates.

Habit's face suddenly screwed up in a pouty scowl and he pushed to his feet. "Seeing as I own half this band, I think it;s only fair that I can make some decisions, too. I say we give him a chance." The words were said firmly and in a matter-of-fact tone that was rarely heard from the young man. It brooked no questions.
"I'll be right back," he told her, spinning on his heel and trotting out of the garage with the intention of chasing the drummer down. On his way out he accidently bumped into a young man in the line up. "Oh! he cried, catching the man's well-worn jean-jacket before it fell to the ground. "I'm so sorry!" He was about to say more when he caught sight of the tail end of the drummer down the street. "I have to go! Really, very sorry!" and then he was gone down the street, calling after the young drummer.

Cecile's lips tightened into a line as she watched her vocalist race off. Arms still folded, she turned back to the line. "Who's next?" she said, rather irritably.

He was heading down the street, towards a house similar to Cecile's in size, idly running a hand through his eggplant-coloured hair. He blinked, catching sight of something following him, and looked slowly over his shoulder at his persuer. He turned to face him, with a clear "what do you want?" expression on his handsome face.

The man swore loudly, having been knocked flat on his back. He slowly sat up, rubbing the back of his head with frustration as he got himself to his feet. He picked his hat up off the ground and placed it back atop his head.
"Geez..."

Shawn fidgeted with her pencil as her eyes trailed after Habit. Thinking back to the bass guitar she'd left in her apartment her fingers started to twitch. Several people had tried out for bass, but none of them had been very good. The next in line to try out was clearly stoned and kept missing notes.

Cecile could see it too. How dare these people come to an audition in this state? "I'm sorry," she said to the person with a mild tone, "You're not what we're looking for."

Habit skidded to a stop right in front of the young man. "That was amazing!" he gushed, doing a small hop-skip of excitment. "Where did you learn to play like that? Oh! Never mind, you can tell me later. I'm actually here to welcome you aboard!" He held out a slim, tanned hand. "It would be an honour to work with you .. ummm.... What was your name again?"

The next person in line to try out for bass had chosen to do a solo by Nightwish. They mangled it so horribly that at last, in a fit of frustration, Shawn rose from her seat and snatched the man's guitar from him. He stood there in a stupor as the brunette proceeded to recreate the song to near perfection.
"If you're going to do a song like that, make sure you know how to play it" she growled, sitting back down.

"...." Cecile stared at Shawn for a moment. "Shawn, come here." She stood and motioned to her. Putting an arm around her shoulders, facing the corner garage wall, she muttered, "Shawn, how long have you known Habit and I?" Her voice was even and straight.

Shawn pondered this. "Three years, I believe. ...Why?" Her tone indicated suspiscion.

Cecile grabbed her by her shoulders and posatively shook her (though not like she's going to snap her neck). "HOW COME YOU NEVER TOLD US YOU COULD PLAY SO WELL?!" she shouted.
