-nodds-

also in the first Ghost in the Shell movie the major said if she or Bauto ever left they would have to give up ther cyber body. while i dont think THAT carried over, casue the magor left but took her body. the meaning of it did carry over. for a body like hers or Bautos its expensive. but i think also worth it. i would take a job at section 9 for a chacne to get a body like that, its a great body not to mention in sec9 u get to push it too its limits.

yeah its almost impossible to truly tell. i mean was the laughing man ever a real person or was he just a fluke...

I would love to have a prosthetic body. Having a prosthetic body would break the limits of a mere human body. Plus sicknesses like cancer and aids would not effect me. Of corse there is the threat of viruses, but I personally would rather deal with a virus than a desease.

We'll be dead and gone before any technology like that ever exists.

Download my ghost to the net! X3

Seriously speaking, that would all depend on my job of choice. If I were doing dangerous stuff like they do in Public Security Section 9, why not? Given my current lifestyle, however, probably not.

Pokegirl Princess Lolicat
I believe that yo are able to get drunk with a prosthetic body (when the Major and Batou are in a bar in the First Gig, just before she alludes to her past and breaking her favourite doll, I seem to remember Batou mentioning how their bodies are still programmed to be able to get drunk...)

Eh? I don't remember seeing that in any of the series. As far as I remember, Batou (or Motoko) said something along the lines that prosthetic bodies break down the alcohol faster, hence preventing drunkenness.

Lol.

I believe there was an episode where a ninety-year-old woman had the body of a twenty-seven-year old. So I guess, if the Ghost doesn't corrode over time, then that might actually be possible. XDD

Sure, I would get prosthetics if I needed them, but having a flesh and blood body is just as okay because you can feel and experience different stimuli in a different way in a real body than in a prosthetic body. In addition, the episode Affection from the second season of Stand Alone Complex they talked about that it was hard to move the body and use fine motor skills when transferred into one of these prosthetic bodies and that took years to do. They would be great too if you were sick or had some incurable disease or had a weak body they would be the way to go, but people do have to die sometime because that is how life is.

That was one of the first bodies though They were pretty much current prosthetic arm technology modified for the whole body, responding to electrical impulses from the cyberbrain rather than muscle twitching in the shoulder.

Now, the question then becomes, would I take my chances with the first prosthetic bodies? Probably not.
Would I take my chances with the first commercial cyberbrains?
I would be in line for the ******** prototype.
If there is one thing I do not want to do, it is die! If I can hold that off by being mind-scanned into a small brain shaped box, sure.

That is how life is now. That is most certainly not how life should be.
The question for you to justify that is: Why should anyone die?
I am sure the only conscionable answer is: One should only die when one can no longer prevent oneself from doing harm to society.
Old age is not a reason to die. It is a means. A means that I certainly do not look forward to suffering.

i'd just replace the body parts that i wasn't happy with, like Saito with his prosthetic eye to help him improve his sniping.
