(Korin-Chan)
All these questions from one she barely knew and seemed to know more than she could believe. Her eyes narrowed briefly in suspicion and then after a small moment she sat down again and crossed her legs, falling into silence as she stared straight ahead of her.

Almost instantly, from one of the alleys a man stumbled, obviously drunk and unable to comprehend where he was he would be an easy target, but still she resisted the urge and motioned to him with a slight flick of her wrist, "That," she replied coolly, refraining from elaborating as she turned to examine her fingernails, well cared for and obviously one of her pride and joys.

"So, you got a name or what?" she enquired.

(arsenicjunkie)
Jun'ko decided that it would be better for her and her mother if she simply ignored the man and the pulliong feeling as she walked the long way home.

::Kigen ignored the prescence of the other whom he had lately encountered, even though it was coming back towards him. It was moving significantly slower than it had away, and this other one was becoming more and more interesting by the moment. He watched as she turned away from him, not answering until the drunk stumbled out from the alley.::

' She's hunting that? That means one of two things...Cannibalism...or Bounty Hunter...'

::Kigen knew of both, he had encountered a strange tribe that ate of the flesh of its own kind, and he had met and encountered MANY a bounty hunter. Every once in a while he even found one was out for his head. Those had been amusing times. From what he had seen of this new place it was higly unlikely, in his mind, that she could mean for food. He would answer her last question first, and then delve deeper. He turned his gaze to the drunk as well.::

"Of course I have a name. I have yet to meet a person who does not. You can call me Kigen. And by what name are you known?"

::The hidden meaning behind his words was alluring to his assumption that she was a bounty hunter::

"So you're 'hunting' that...not much of a challenge...Looks to me like he has had a bit too much to drink."

"Hmph..."

::He turned back to her waiting for her response::

"Seiryu will not attack," she said. It would seem that her tongue had slipped, yet she knew what she was saying. "There is as much honor amongst them as there is amongst ourselves. I am sure they wish to defeat us fairly, am I right?"

Looking to Ellia with a dry stare, he attributes her burst to naivete. "I seriously doubt it. Nakago was a master at manipulating people, and playing fair was never Seiryu's style. Given the chance they backstabbed and killed each other as much as we were able to stop them. I don't know anything about Genbuu or Byakko- but Seiryu's Seishi were treacherous even to each other. If they kill their own, what kind of relations do you think we would have with them, their sworn enemies?"

Not recognizing the hypothetical question, she asnwers with a blunt, "I know not." Then, upon looking about her, she saw that one or two people were sending strange looks towards her, considering her entirely small garments. "Excuse me, but what types of garments do I need within this soceity?" she asked.

((Okay, here's my intro post. Sorry for grammar errors, it was kinda rushed.))

The flash of bulbs and the clicking of cameras were inescapable as Chuugi Ryu stepped off the plane and into the terminal. The shouts of reporters and their questions about his homecoming were ignored as the model and a small group from his agency were muscled through the crowd by a wall of bodyguards. It was only minutes before Ryu was in a limo and on the road, his agent already shouting into her cell phone.

"Where the hell did the media come from?!" The woman was obviously furious, "No one was supposed to know about my client's return to Japan! Hell, I didn't even know about it until a few hours ago!" She then launched into a slew of French explatives, closed her flip-phone angrily, and turned on Ryu.

"You," she pointed an accusing finger, "This is your fault, you know. What in the hell possesed you to just hop on the next flight to Tokyo without letting anyone know? You're lucky there were seats still available." She angrily tossed back her long blond hair, "We had no media prep-time! We really could marketed this, Ryu. 'Model and son of famous actor returns from Paris for the first time in 3 years!' Do you see the beauty in it? We could have set up a media conference, got a radio spot, maybe something on tv; the profits are endless in 'homecomings,' Ryu. So tell me just why the hell we had to miss this money-making opportunity?!"

Ryu had been silent. He was used to his agent's lectures about profits, protocol, the proper times to do this and that. The woman ran his career, which was basically his life. On this particular day, however, he was in no mood. The delay his plane suffered due to a sudden lightening storm had probably what had given the media enough time to invade the airport. Ryu, never removing the indifferent look on his flawless face, gave the most unarguable excuse he could muster, "My mother and father told me to come home for a while. I have some vacation time, Marie, so I thought I would indulge them this once."

Marie gulped. She was not a woman to be intimidated, you couldn't be in her line of work. But the parents of Chuugi Ryu were a force to be reckoned with. His father, Hideki, had been Japan's most famous actor in his day. He had married the famous Chinese model, Faye Lin, and they had moved to Europe where the fame of the couple only grew. Their child was destined for stardom, whether he liked it or not. Ryu was thrown into the modeling business young, and no label could refuse the child of two such famous names. Even today, he could toss around his parents name, and usaully get away with anything. Though he had to be very desperate to do something like that. His love for his parents had seriously waned over the past several years, so a visit to home was not something even his agent could interfere with.

"Fine," Marie sighed, "You have five days until your next assignment. Spend some time at home. But Ryu, don't do anything stupid. Don't draw any attention to yourself unless it's with your parents. The press will find some way to screw up your vacation since you didn't announce it ahead of time. Anything that will damage our next project before it even starts will be grounds for a serious deduction in your paycheck."

"I understand," he said apathetically. She was trying to play hardball, knowing he didn't care about the money. He almost felt sorry for the woman. He shifted his focus out the window, getting his first glance at Tokyo in several years. Nothing had changed. Nothing important anyway. Then again, there was little he valued in the city. He wouldn't have even come if it hadn't been for the icy mark of Seiryuu, and an almost premonicient feeling that something unusual was going to happen, and that he should be there for it.

((Don't have much to go off of... sweatdrop ))
::Kigen waited only a moment and then relaxed back against the bench. He watched as the drunk stumbled around aimlessly. The culture shock was still setting in, and at the same time he was doing his best to adjust as quickly as possible. It was harder though...with him no longer the most powerful being, with almost no competition. Here there were others..all around..every direction...different distances. But one thng seemed for certain. The power of Seiryuu was definitely gathering.. He hadn't had time or the freedom to learn about everything...the situation would not allow that. He had all but ignored the sound overhead when the plane had flown over. Surely something he would want to know about when he had the time and freedom. But for ow, his focus was on this girl..this strange quiet girl, who appeared to be hiding something...He conserved his strenght and simply relaxed as he waited for her to respond.::.

"A lack of chase is a good thing," Keiko replied softly and continued to watch the man stumble for a long time before finally wobbling into another alleyway. With that in mind she pursed her lips and resisted the urge to follow him, turning her gaze back towards the man who...wasn't what he appeared to be, he dressed like a soldier but didn't appear to look like it...

"You see..." she murmured at last and glanced at her gloved hands, "Sometimes resistance simply feeds the lust for blood...it causes a person to become wilder. One who does not give chase calms the adrenaline and allows one to hunt not only more efficiently, but it prevents the person from wasting energy they could use on other things." She sighed and glanced down at her boots for a long while before shaking her head and falling silent, perhaps she had said too much but she could always dispense of him if necessary...despite how familiar he appeared to be.

::Kigen took an odd interest in this girl. The way she spoke in reference to their discussion, the words she used to respond. They did not add clarity to what he was trying to find out, as they apllied to both possibilities. She would not allude to either predominantly. Bounty hunter...cannibal...Both? She was a strange specimin, to have acquired a portion of the power of Seiryuu. Either way, he scowled inwardly at the thought of either tainting the power of Seiryuu. He wondered if he would have what it would take to try and releave her of it here and now...he didn't yet know exactly how much and what she possessed...only that she had a distinct feel to her. Of course there were the others to consider also. He ran his finger along his chin in a thinking manner::

"Sometimes...one's 'prey' doesn't give chase for other reasons. Perhaps the prey is actually only playing the part of the prey, in order to hunt the 'hunter'."

::He hadn't actually peiced together that she might be refewrring to him, he was actually just thinking about instances where one animal would lure another in by looking to be in a state of weakness, and then suddenly turn completely around and prey upon the prospective hunter. Which also, could apply to either medium in question. He decided then to stop beating around the bush::

"So why then...are -you- hunting?"

"I do not really have a choice," the girl replied in a soft voice, continuing to examine the gloves covering her hands from view. It wasn't that she was hungry but the beast within her was, it fought to escape her hold and thus create havoc but she was in the open and that much she could not allow, for now it would have to wait and she would bear the further pain granted to her by the peculiar tattoo on her back.

Nevertheless she released a bitter hiss and quickly lifted part of her shirt up to examine the symbol upon the lower region of her back, her eyes widening at the blue glow pulsing from it. Never in all her life had she seen anything like it, she was pretty sure she didn't have any neon stuck in there.

"Hmmm..." She murmured, recovering her blank expression as she dropped the back of her shirt again and continued to stare into the alleyway for a long while, "So tell me the truth, who are you and why do you emanate with a power so similar to my own?" she enquired, cutting straight to the chase.

"Mom-" Jun'ko called as she entered the house and tossed her jacket aside. "I'm back." Her mother looked in quickly from the other room and smiled, glad that her duaghter was back.
"I'm going to bed mom." She said before closing the door to her room and falling asleep, yearning for those few moments of unconciousness in store for her that would be bliss.

Looking her over, he smiles in apology. With her clothes so tight, she might be thought of as a high class streetwalker. "Well, you have the basic idea- but from the looks of it, a tad small. Just go up a size or two and you should be fine."

What he had said had not helped her. Rather, she'd been attempting to figure out exactly which garments to wear. Buit such was not a true issue. "And what of educational processes? Surely your society allows for schooling of some sort?" she asked finally.

::No choice? This girl seemed to become more peculiar and interesting with every passing moment. He was about to open his mouth to speak, but then tshe suddenly turned to look at her back and his eye caught sight of it. Similar to that which resided on his forehead...a mark...the mark of Seiryuu. So each who had the power, would also have the mark. Kigens eyes widened a bit, and then she struck him with a question, even more straightforward than he had been and intended to be. His slightly shocked look from the revelation of the mark of Seiryuu sharpened, almost to a scowl that seemed to say 'I owe the likes of you no such explaination', but he held his tounge from such a forward outburst. He was still unsure of his postion in ability compared to her.::

::Kigen turned and stood stepping a few paces away from her and stepping into the light of the nearest streetlight, with his back to her, and as he spoke, slowly turned his bedy perpendicular, and in the final part of his statement, turned his head and locked eyes with her.::

"Your question would be better directed to yourself, from me child. But, I am in a reasoanle mood...so...you wish to know who I am? I am Kigen Kenryoku...The Servant of Seiryuu...The rightful bearer of the power you have lain claim to."

Still not totally sure if he should believe this 'new to this world' bit, Charles tries to accodate her until a fatal slip in her story falls through. Being nice to her seems so natural, though. Almost as if she were a long-time friend. "Oh yeah . . . there is loads of schooling here. In fact, there is a great deal of emphasis on learning and education in the world now. From an early age we go to schools, and are taught what we need to be a part of society. Only when people reach an age slightly older then me do they go on to non-essential schools to learn more specific things for a carreer. Don't you have college where you come from, Ellia?"

"Right," the girl replied simply and arched a brow before shaking her head, she laid claim to power? When did this happen and why wasn't she consulted? If this was her power then he could bloody well have it, she wasn't one for blood lust and excruciating transformations but she really had no choice in that matter.

"And no doubt you want it back," she continued in a dry voice, her eyes narrowing at the prospect...despite disliking her skills it would no doubt be painful to remove them and if they were removed how exactly would SHE cope? He seemed to have plenty of power, why did he need her skills and why would he want them for that matter?

"Terribly sorry my dear but you cannot have mine," she purred quietly, the power surging through her veins as she attempted to focus it, if she laid claim to it then surely she could focus it just as much as she could control it. The tattoo on her back soon began to glimmer ever more brightly though unseen beneath her coat and grew ever hotter, even her appearance at begun to change...

Her eyes had developed a deep hunger and her nails appeared to be lengthening...should she smile, the flash of extended canines could easily be seen. She could feel her strength increasing as she began to focus her powers and unleash the beast...no, this was somehting SHE wanted to keep, something she would not lose regardless of the pain it caused her for it made her...

He would have to kill her first to regain it or he could even negotiate with her, she was always up for payment for her loyalties.

Nevertheless, deep within her mind an image of a wolf flashed and the loud, familiar howl rang in her ears, Ashitaire her 'god-given' name.

(( Ano... I'd love to join, but I'm not particularly interested in re-reading everything! Is there a way that I could get a little summary? Or maybe I should just jump in and be clueless from the start? ^^; And also, do you think you could post up a list of the characters who have already been taken? I'd hate to accidently snatch someone's character...

Damn, I ask a lot of questions. ^^; ))
