Marc was unsure if he could convince her that Kraven's lust for Selene showed no bounds and that he would be willing to sacrifice Wren if he could find a closer resemblance. Sure, Selene pulled at Marc's own heartstrings, but he would never get involved in any sort of a relationship with anyone. He could live for a millennium more and still would not need a woman in his life. Independence suited him. Marc's celibacy as a vampire provided him more time to focus and hone his skills. Kraven on the other hand was weak and more concerned with politics. Marc hated politics, but knew that he would have to take part in the transition period that was nearing.

Marc leaned against the wall and spoke slowly in his deep toned voice, "I understand." Marc figured that she would rather be someone's pet than make any opportunity for her self. Marc came out of the dark corner to walk to Wren's side. "If you can forget what you heard and any trouble I caused you, I can take my leave and I shan't bother you again." He would not suffer punishment from Kraven, especially when a girl he could care for sells him out.

Wren remained quiet for a moment as she considered the offer that he was making. She was eager to be releaved of his presence, but she did not know whether she would be able to keep all that she had learned from Kraven. Even if she chose not to tell Kraven about it he had said that she would be tailed at all times, which she knew was true.

"He will know that I am lying to him, that I am hiding something" she replied, her eyes remaining lowered as she turned to face Marc. "If I don't tell him, then he will kill me" she continued, her voice lowered afraid that the walls might be listening. Her chestnut eyes widened a moment later as she realised that she had revealed something she shouldn't have. She shouldn't have even remotely suggested that Kraven was interested in the conversation. Perhaps Marc won't think anything of it she chanted to herself, as she waited to see what Marc would say.

Marc knew the consequences if Kraven were to find out any remote idea that Levin was conversing with him. But Marc would not let Wren be hurt instead of him, plus Kraven would probably find out anyways in the end. He always managed to in the end. He walked up to Wren and gently lifted her chin so her eyes would meet his. "In that case, do what you have to do. But this will be remembered," Marc trailed off. 'For later,' he continued in his head.

Wren nodded slowly, although she wasn't sure exactly sure what he meant when he said this would be remembered. In all honesty she was rather surprised that he hadn't raised his fist at her. Jerking her head away from his fingers, her chestnut eyes regarded him for a long moment. A mix of confusion and fear passed through them. She could read Kraven, and although she feared him she always knew what was coming when he was angered with her. Marc was a differant story. His eyes were blank of any readable emotion, and his words gave little hint as to what his intentions where.

With a final look at him, she lowered her eyes and slipped toward the door. "I'm sorry" she whispered, raising her eyes slightly, "but he will kill me". With her words she slipped from the room, hurrying down the corridor and toward the main lounge.

Kraven reclined in the most lavish chair in the lounge. Servent wenches swarmed about him, chattering endless admirations in his ear. He paid them little attention however, his eyes scanning for one of two woman. As always he longed to glimpse the raven haired beauty that occupied his every thought, but ceased to frustrate him to nerve's end. He assumed that she was training as per usual, as there was currently no lycan hunts in progress. None that he knew of anyway.

The second figure that he scanned for was that of his servant girl Wren. It was not often that she was late for the duties that were demanded of one of her rank, and Kraven found himself concerned that something coulf have happened to her. Not because he cared for the girl in the slightest, rather her was concerned that someone had stamped out her miserable life before he could. One could consider if strange that he had turned her because she resembled Selene greatly, yet seemed to think so little of her. The truth was that she possessed little of the same fire that Selene did, and Kraven found it rather boring that she submitted to his every whim without a fight.

Marc's blank eyes followed Wren out of the room. Maybe he would have to deal with Kraven soon, but he knew Kraven would not be alone in a fight unless he had to. Marc waited a few minutes before leaving the room and going down to the training room to relieve some stress. Marc always felt a little better after throwing around some weights and shooting off a couple of rounds.

BLAM.....BLAM.....BLAM. Ceramic pieces flew in all directions as the rounds hit their target. The ebony haired warrior continued to glare coldly down the firing range as another cermaic bust slid into position. BLAM.....BLAM.....BLAM. Once more ceramic shards littered the air. Ejecting the mag from the pistol, Selene lay both gun pieces upon the small bench before her. Removing her ear-muffs, she replaced them upon the awaiting clip. Swiftly replacing the empty mag she reholstered the Beretta.

The warrior was becoming increasingly bored with the lack of lycan activity lately, and longed to resume the hunt of the filthy beasts. That and she was becoming rapidly sick of Kraven and his never ending advances. The training room was unually empty, she noted as she swept the room with her chestnut gaze. With the awakening approaching, she supposed that it was a good thing that there was little lycan activity. The downside being that it left Selene with little to do.

Marc's eye traveled over to Selene to watch her perfection as she shot. Her practice has paid off over the years, every shot was perfect. Marc's eyes returned to the heavy bag he in front of and resumed pounding at it. In his gaze he did not realized that he had stopped punching. He rotated around it to cut the line of vision between him and Selene if she were to look over. Marc enjoyed the single life. But if any vampire could be his, it would be Selene as she was one of the strongest. Plus Marc liked her warrior instincts that were similar to his own.

In one of the far corners Selene's eyes came to rest on Marc, who seemed deeply absorbed with his training. Her gaze lingered upon him, watching his fluid movements. While Selene herself was skilled in hand to hand combat, firearms were her greatest strength. Pushing away from the wall on which she had come to lean slightly, she strode toward Marc. Selene held great respect for Marc, as she did for most of the other death dealers.

"The lack of lycan activity is becoming concerning" she said blunty as she walked slightly past the punching bag. Pivoting on her heel she turned to face him.

He was a little surprised to see Selene coming towards him. Marc did not realize how hard he hit the bag until it was on the floor. He picked up the bag and leaned it against the wall. The sight of her still had the effect of unsettling the experienced warrior. "Now we have little to do with our time, except to think of the possibilities of their silence."

Selene stood by, unabashed by the over-assault on the punching bag. Crossing her arms across her chest, she raised a quizically eyebrow at Marc. The hardened warrior was slightly surprised to hear Marc shared her feelings. Most death dealers were glad for the quite times, rather then becoming bored with the lack of activity. "Kahn was hoping to rid the city of the few remaining lycans before the awakening" she continued, her chestnut gaze hardening in anger. "Kraven's lack of concern about the lycans is concerning" she continued, frowning slightly. She had always known that Kraven's held little care about the affairs of the death dealers, having his own personal guard to see to his affairs. Despite his defeat of the feared lycan leader, Lucian many centures before, he had had little to do with the death dealers since his rise in status.

She couldn't imagine the number of lycans still within the city was all that great. Little did she know what lay ahead.

Marc took a seat on a bench so he could undo the tape from his hands. "While Kraven's in power, the Death Dealers are growing weak from the lack of activity." He leaned forward and put his elbows on his knees. "I have never seen Lycans so inactive in all my years. It's disturbing." Marc let few know his true thoughts, but if he could trust anyone, it was Selene. She, for one, was as fed up with Kraven as he was. Secondly, she held the same warrior spirit that rested inside him. 'Another time, another place perhaps...nope, it still would never work,' Marc thought as he looked to Selene for a response.

Selene nodded slightly in agreement to Marc's words. Although many of the death dealers trained because they desired to, Kraven did not enforce training nor join in what little traning occured. It was still over another century until Viktor was to be awakened and Kraven releaved of his duties. As far as Selene was concerned that time couldn't come soon enough. "Its most disturbing" Selene confirmed, "especially with the awakening to close". Although the lycans were believed to be fewer in number, the death dealers will still responsible for eradicating those that remained.

Selene's words were true. The awakening was near, but Kraven still insisted that the Death Dealers do nothing while the few Lycans that were supposed to be out there did nothing as well. Everything seemed too convenient for Kraven until Amelia comes to take charge. "If Kraven wants us to not think about the possibilities then he should have us do something instead of nothing."

((Oh storm >.< Just a quick note to ask whether you think we should move this one, bring in Kahn with information about the lycans that we lead the death dealers to the subway?))
