I want the whole series, but for like 30 books, that is about 300 bucks. Waaah! crying

I look at manga like i look at collectors cards. It's the joy of showing off your collection that sometimes makes it worth paying as much as you do for a book. If they were cheep then everyone would do it and there wouldn't be as much pride in having a big collection.
Also you have to think about all the effort it takes to make a vol of manga.

Yeah, I used to think so and it does add up really, really fast, but, if you think about it, only one chapter usually appears in a $12-15 magazine and one manga includes 4+ chapters. Plus, I just read them in the store to see if I'll like the series. Technically, manga are really compilations.

Believe it or not, a friend of mine's truly crazy. She had a shelf of comics in her house... not to mention, 4 shelves, full!! Wth... i could even say 'wtf'... All from TokyoPop and DelRay. Just ... i... speechless... it must've been thousands of dollars!!@!@#@#$@#!$#$ =_= i guess rich people are just... (mutes)

Very true, too expensive. In Vietnam, you can get one for about $3 US. It is a lot, but I love them either way. Plus, some of them are not my spendings but presents and gift certificates I use.

I shall be the optimist. In my world manga is free and I can read whenever I want. Books fall from the sky and I swim in their awesomeness...Then I wake up and life sucks. I think libraries are our true friends. Seriously, they let you borrow their books for free! You can even request what they get. If you want to read it again, check it out again. heart heart
