Krystal nodded slightly. "Pleasure to meet you, Colonel Curtiss." She soon followed the Necromancer down the rest of the path. As they entered the town, she noticed she had gotten stares among the inhabitants due to her appearance. Her gaze shifted over to Jade when he commented about her 'costume'. Thankfully, he managed to ease the tension among the people. However, an elderly man wasn't all to happy with her 'costume'. "I apologize for causing trouble among the people here. However, it is a custom where I'm from to wear costumes like this. I cannot reveal my true face unless deep trusts are gained." She frowned slightly as the elderly man mentioned an earthquake that occurred several days ago and that there were places monsters had gotten crazier since then. This sounded like a matter that should be investigated later. For now, she needed answers as to where she and Jade are. "I'm afraid my acquaintance and I have gotten ourselves lost prior to our arrival to this town. Could you tell us where we are?"

Tear had her eyes on the map, even as Mamizou and Cross spoke to her. This was going to be a problem. She had ended up in a different world altogether, yet strangely, the inhabitants of Aselia happen to use items similar to those in Auldrant as well as using the same currency. Could it be that both worlds are similar in a way? That would explain why Cross had that impression of the Melodiist being a native in Aselia. Regaining her composure, she looked to Mamizou and Cross. "Apparently I'm much farther away from home." She said in a calm tone then glanced at Cross. "No. I'm not from Aselia. I'm from a world called Auldrant." She mentally sighed to herself. This was going to be a problem. For now, getting information at the academy was her main priority.

"It would seem this is worse than I expected..." Cross said, looking at Tear, "If this world is not your own, then either you traveled here through the blind eternities of your own free will, or something brought you here. And judging by your reactions I can only assume you didn't plan to come here." He looked back to the road to the school, then started towards it.



'Shit.' Seras started moving farther back down the alley, silently watching the blond haired boy. Her eyes had started to glow red in the dimming light, and she knew she wasn't going to have a chance if she didn't get out of there soon.

Emil smiled at the brunette. "I'm familiar with the city. Are you and your friend tourists?" This was most likely the woman the people talked about. Brown hair and dressed in strange clothes. As for the other, he could make her out very well in the shade. "If you and your friend are lost, I can show you to the inn or around town." Maybe he'd ask about the "vortex" later so he didn't have her close up or something. Besides, she seemed friendly enough.

Luin perked up slightly at the mention of a town, he wasn't carrying anything except his sword and money pouch as he always did when he was working ''A town sounds good maybe I can get a map, could you please take me there?''

Scythe saw a town, or at least a collection of buildings, looking around he saw two other people in the distance making their way towards it, a large grin spread across his face ''where there's a town there's people...and where there's people there's chances for fun!'' the black fox dropped to all fours and ran towards the town leaving a slight dust trail in his wake

OCC: if I quote you now it's simpler later...that and there's a black blur running across the sands

Sheena rested a hand on her hip before nodding. "You can have my map. I don't need it. It's back at the inn in town. I just came here to check on something. It's a bit of a long walk, but we should reach Luin before the end of the day." She hadfilled out her map with areas that were infected in order to avoid them, but Lutz would probably need it more.

Aeris made a sheepish expression when she heard the boy's question. "I suppose you could say that, we're not exactly from around here." She smiled. It was rather relieving to know there was someone who was familiar with the city. That and he was nice enough to offer to take her and Seras to the inn or show them around. "That would be nice. I guess we could get a room at the inn first." She then looked to Seras. "Is that fine with you, Seras?" She had noticed that the blonde girl's eyes were glowing red. In a way, the red eyes reminded her of a certain Ex-Turk. Her gaze then shifted over to the blonde boy. "Oh, I'm Aeris. I'm a flower girl from the slums, and this is Seras."

Cross was right. Tear didn't plan on coming to a different world. In fact, otherworldly travel was something the inhabitants of Auldrant had never achieved before. Cross seems to have some knowledge on such travel, though she decided to save her questions for later once they've learned what they can about Aselia. She glanced over to Mamizou when she mentioned there must be some way for the Melodist to return home. "I would assume there is." She said in a calm tone. If there was a way for her to arrive in Aselia, then here has to be something that could send her back to Auldrant. "This world is different, yet the inhabitants here happen to use items and currency similar to the ones in Auldrant."

"We might be able to figure out more here at the school." Cross said, "The sooner we get there, the sooner I can explain why I am here. Then we can figure out what we need to do." He continued onwards, walking to the doors of the academy and knocking loudly on the door.

Yuan made a slight movement that could be taken as a near double-take at the thought of having failed to notice that strange Exsphere, but that was because his fierce desire to protect the World Tree was more prominent. He also reflected upon the point in time Rhone was referring to—and even if it were an event of that caliber, he was pretty much preoccupied with managing things in Cruxis while simultaneously running the Renegades right under Mithos' nose. He might have been in Sylvarant or even Derris Kharlan at the time. "To be honest...my hands were more than likely full at the time. But I think I've heard of the incident in passing." That was the case, when he thought about it. It was Mithos who had seen it from afar, but dismissed it on the assumption that it were "some fools who brought a very fitting retribution upon themselves for playing with magitech".

Yuan made a contemplative expression and put a hand to his chin at Rhone's next statement. He wasn't sure what his mind was trying to get at just yet, but it sounded like something that could be taken advantage of. "Then I take it that venturing into the fields of corruption isn't something you'd like to risk too often. Might you be able to tell me what a source of it looks like, however?"

After a few moments of staring thoughtfully at the flask in his hands, Kratos spoke up in reply to Azura. "I have something else in mind, but let's see if it actually works." He handed it back to her and began to walk toward the Tree, and she followed behind. "Have you got a smaller container to put just a little bit of the water in?"

"Oh, y-yes sir!" Azura set the flask safely in her bag for the time being, then fished around further in it until she found what she was looking for. From one of the numerous pouches within, she took out a test tube. "This alright?"

The both of them paused before the tree, Kratos turning to look at her offer. "Yes, that's perfect." He went on to cross the stepping stones over to the Tree's isle in the middle of the waterfall pond, knelt down on one knee to pick something up, then returned to her with a single dry, dull-colored leaf in hand.

"Dead leaves from the tree represent mana that has been consumed. But what would happen, were it to meet that holy water of yours?"

Azura, who had put down her shoulder bag so that she could handle the containers more carefully, handed Kratos the test tube filled with Hermes' Water. He dipped the stem of the leaf into the water, and in just a second...the color in the leaf had become more vibrant. From the tip of the stem, fine roots also grew and stretched down to nearly the length of the test tube.

The small dark-elven woman stared in awe, gaping. "It's become healthy enough to be like a cutting...but what can be done with it?"

"The rate at which it's growing is fairly adequate. The question is, in this state, could it withstand those so-called 'fields of corruption'..."

While awaiting his answer, Yuan glanced aside to the two in curiosity. Their conversation hadn't completely escaped his ears. Some mentions of "holy water"...and now, what were they doing by the Tree? He was becoming increasingly interested in presence of this "foreigner" and her tie to Kratos' return.
