((Coincidence?? YOU DECIDE))
"Uh, wait, I'm a little shaky on these things. If you put him in the closet, what would happen to the past him? Wouldn't they both continue to exist, thus making some sort of paradox where he still gets hired, and we still go back in time? Wouldn't it be best if we simply kidnapped the past him, threw him in the closet and went back to our own time?" Orin asked, a tad confused. Time travel was something every scientist had theorized something about at some point, but the basics were still the same, or so he thought. Heh, I don't always travel through time, but when I do, i ask dumb questions.

"No, he never met the guy. Everything that happened today, is only in your mind. We are, in essence, re-writing time. So its about 8:34am today and yes Orin you are right, at the moment there is a copy of him wandering around somewhere. Now, this is where the real power comes into play. I might need silence for this, targeting people is difficult." He looked intently off into space for the longest time, not even breathing. "He's alone in the past. That makes it easy." He pushed down the stopper of the watch as the face of it glowed. "Come on you can do this..." He muttered at himself, watching the seconds tick away.
"Perfect!" He flicked it back up. "You know the expression 'disappeared off the face of the earth'? That is exactly what happened to the past self. He's gone and will 'reappear' so to speak in that closet in about 5 minutes. If you want to be technical, he never exists in time for a whole five minutes. 'Appearing out of nowhere' ring a bell? His mind will fill in the blank. He will during his walk, before his disappearance feel the sudden need to get high, and to into the closet and pass out. In truth, he just never existed."
Niro was looking very pleased with himself. "I am not saying you were wrong Orin, but that is just way too easy and boring. I needed to test out just how much of my magic the other Oracles took. I need some adventure too ya know." He looked to the stack of pies, "and now that you mention, some food. This eating thing is so weird." He waited to see if anyone was going to ask any more questions. "Anything else? But you two, would actually create a paradox. Which is why I have to be careful about you."

[Lol...and here I thought you guys had planned the names that way O.o I noticed it pretty much off the bat, but didn't mention it because I thought it was planned for some reason ^^"]
Loreno shrugged and simply sat back, watching the ride go, so to speak. He admitted...he found this time travel stuff kinda interesting. He didn't really feel the need to get too attached to it, though...wasn't his field of expertise. He did not speak at all during all the actions, but he listened and took mental notes of all the information Niro was mentioning...just in case he ever found himself in a time bending zone again. Never hurt to remember the details, right? He frowned though...he had to wonder if, perhaps...Niro could somehow help with his little curse issue? He shook his head slightly, closing his eyes...no, he wouldn't ask. That was a burden that was his alone to carry, and as such, it was up to him and only him to find a way to reverse it. He opened his eyes again when Niro asked if there was anything else, shaking his head slightly.
"No questions at this time from me..."
He then found himself wondering, strangely, what kind of pies Niro had found...curse his hunger. He supposed he would find out soon enough what pies were available...though he didn't usually care for sweets, he was getting to the point of being hungry enough to not be picky about what went in his stomach...save for poisoned foods of course, but what could Niro possibly gain out of killing him off? From what he could tell so far, Niro likely gauged him as more a possible asset, at most, than a threat. That was without reading the Ex-Oracle's mind. Reluctantly, he found his eyes wandering over the multitude of pies that Orin held, and trying to determine which ones he might go for...

((Totally just realized it myself. xD ))
Orin went to throw his hands up in the air and shout 'I give up!', but he remembered the pies. "No questions here, all mighty Oracle," he quipped, his eyebrows raised in defeat. "Now, these pies are awfully heavy. How about we find a nice place to sit and devour them?" Shuffling the pie boxes, he read off the flavors. "Apple, Strawberry, Apple Strawberry, Banana Apple, Strawberry Rhubarb, and... Another apple. Totally not obsessed, are you, Niro? Wait, you know what I just realized? My name spelled backwards is your name. Huh, total coincidence."

"Considering how much older I am then you, pretty much. Nevertheless, I must admit that whoever named you was very wise to come up with something so clever. I hope you have better luck then myself." He grinned. "Well I like apples, its about all I've tasted since I arrived. Oracles don't have to eat so... I thought it made sense to stick with what I know tasted good. Besides, they were overstock, so I didn't think they'd mind too much if they went missing ya know." He was really starting to enjoy this group ad their little comradeship.
"Food time now." Since the time stop was still active, it was a simple matter of pushing the winder clockwise and watching the day play out at high speed. "There we are now. Everyone check for traffic, Orin has the pies and so I want no accidents." He was just teasing Orin, recalling their last accident during travel before pushing the stopper down. "Well, shall we?" He was amused by the sounds of traffic, students and the smells on the breeze. Orin knows the place better then I do, so lead on." Niro reclaimed the pie boxes out of fear Orin would drop them after tucking away the watch again.

Orin hesitated a moment, before taking a step back onto the concrete path. "I've got this little nook that I sometimes go when I want to think. It's quiet, private, and there's lots of trees," holding the pies with both hands, he began to walk briskly, leading the group to, then into, a large group of trees near the campus. He turned left at a large, healthy oak, then right at a dying willow, before stopping at the clearing. The clearing, large enough for about four people to lay around in, was bordered at one end by a thicket of bamboo and about half a dozen trees a the other. "And here's my own little slice of quiet. Feel free to make yourselves comfortable."

"All it needs is an apple tree and its perfect!" So Niro dug about his jacket, pulled out a smaller apple and in a few bites gotten to the core where the seeds are. "Now we just dig a little hole." This was a little harder but, with the help of a bit of stone he found, made a small hole while finishing off the apple. Putting the core and seeds in, covering it with dirt, he stared intently at it. Almost a minute went by before he stated. "Hm... Why are you not a tree yet? Oh right, not an Oracle." He huffed before taking off his trench coat and hanging it off a tree branch.
"Not a bad place at all Orin, I like it a lot." He grinned watching both Loreno and Orin as he flopped down into the grass at the base of a tree. "You both might as well figure it out for yourselves who wants what. There is always more where they came from if required. Just pass me one of the apples. When you have a second of course." Niro was in no hurry, there was almost never any hurry for him, for he was never early or late. He arrived exactly when he meant to and so was always on time.

Loreno followed in silence as orin lead them somewhere. He did find it interesting that they were each other's names backwards...peculiar, indeed. He wondered if perhaps there was an underlying meaning behind it all...or if it was, indeed, pure coincidence. After a bit they wound up in a clearing after passing through some trees. He liked the bamboo touch at the one end, so when Orin said for them to make themselves comfortable, he wound up walking in that direction, sitting cross legged as he withdrew his katana and began cleaning the blade with a cloth he kept in one of his pockets...after a cursory wipe down, he then took out a small, oval shaped rock...though it had some ninety degree edges, too...and proceeded to sharpen the blade. The soft snicks of each stroke could be heard if one was close enough of had good hearing.
He watched with mild interest as Niro planted the apple seeds and core in the ground. That guy really seemed to like his apples. He made no motion to go for any of the pies, nor did he speak of them. As hungry as he was...he decided it would be better if he let everyone else get what they wanted first, and then would pick something from what was left. He never really was in a hurry when it came to eating...he ate when he ate. All there was to it...he knew how to ignore hunger to a large degree. To him, it was just an alternate form of pain...pain which was not nearly as horrific as the pain caused from his curse.

Eventually the snicks drew Niro's attention, so he looked over at Loreno. "You expect Orin to be able to finish em all off himself? Come on and lighten up just a little. I respect the serious business side of you, a few of the other Oracles were like that you know, especially Ashra. Jeez if you ever needed a lecture about not doing your job she jumped at it. Really though, I highly doubt anyone is going to pop out of a tree and attack us."
Niro poked another apple out of his pocket, except instead of catching it, he missed. It bonked him on the head and landed in the grass. "Feisty little apple aren't you? You will pay for that!" Niro made short work of that apple too. It was a good question of just how many he had managed to stuff in his pockets. Frankly, it seemed quite a few at this rate.
He then grabbed the rock, walked over to a nice empty bit of the path and soon planted this core as well. Probably as insurance in case the first one didn't sprout. He returned to his tree and promptly dozed off, though something was definitely in his mind now. One of those half formed thoughts that are important if only you can figure out what it is.

Loreno paused momentarily in the sharpening of the blade to respond to Niro.
"I don't expect him to finish all the pies off...I'm waiting for everyone else to grab some before choosing from what's left. As for the maintanence work I'm doing..."
He then quickled examined the edge he was working on before deciding it was satisfactory for the time being, and flipped the sword over to begin working on the other side.
"...best to maintain your equipment when you have the time. Always a bad thing to be caught off guard and not have your equipment in the best shape it can be. I try to always be prepared...I learned quickly that an ill-maintained blade could put you in a very bad situation at times."
It hadn't actually happened to him...but he had seen it happen to a foe. That was the one time he actually felt even a little sorry for those he faced. The guy's weapon was so poorly maintained, it practically fell apart as soon as he drew it. He wasn't about to let that happen to him...he ended up getting snapped out of his thoughts when Niro bonked himself in the head with an apple. He shook his head and chuckled a little before examining this edge of the blade, approving of it as well. He would then sheathe his sword and wait for everyone to get their share of pie before getting some for himself.

Orin mushed his face into a kind of half scowl. "Just pick a pie, Loreno. Here, I'll set them right next to you so that you have to choose one," he set the stack of pies so close to Loreno that if the man would've stood he would knock over the stack. "Take your pick. I know that I don't mind picking last." A headache was beginning to form in the back of his head. It was one of those buzzing, throbbing ones that dug deeper into your head as time went on. Right now, it was just a minor one, but he knew that it'd eventually increase in strength. He mentally shrugged, such is life.

"By all land, stop acting like women!" Niro open an eye and chuckled at the pair's mannerisms. "I thought you were men ya know!" He grinned at the pair, got up again and looked at them. "You'd honestly think I'd poisoned them and you were hoping to have someone else be the tester and not you. So here let me do this before we spend all day offering them to someone else and trying to be all honourable." He walked over, poked one of the apple pies out of the stack and carried it back to his tree.
It took him a minute to figure out how to open the box but, he got it open in the end. Then he started working this way though the crust, then into the filling. It was a bit of a messy business without cutlery but, Niro minded very little. "Well, I know nothing of actually using weapons. If knowing the theory and bookish stuff counts for anything then I know quite a great deal." He looked down at the watch. "I could polish it maybe? Otherwise its pretty no maintenance required." He plucked out another apple and nibbled on it, these tasted different which was a nice change.

Loreno sighed slightly upon hearing the insistances of both Orin and Niro. And here, he thought he was being nice in declining to choose first...fine, whatever. He was hungry enough he wasn't going to keep arguing about a fairly non-essential fight, anyhow. Not that he really liked arguing in the first place. Immediately after Niro had grabbed his pie, he'd just grab a couple at random from the pile and frown...no utensils, eh? Ah well. As he didn't really feel like running back to the nearest campus locale that had silverware, he simply removed his gloves bafore opening the first box and digging in. He didn't really care if he looked like a barbarian when he ate...food was food, and was supposed to be eaten. Social courtesies when it comes to eating be damned. He usually ate alone...but this was the first time in his memory he had eaten with anyone else around. Definitely something he wasn't used to...though interestingly, he somehow was avoiding getting any manner of food at all on his clothes.

Niro only looked around as he was dipping bits of the crust into the liquid filling of the pie. He had finally discovered what the strange thought had been that was nagging him. This must be what its like to have friends. He wasn't sure if this technically counted, they were a little more closely related to a band of people sticking together for survival then really friends. Though Niro would probably admit that he did feel a little protective of both of them. Oracles were co-workers and tolerated each other, they were never friends or allies in a technical sense. It was a new experience and one he was not displeased about by any means.

Orin snatched the strawberry rhubarb pie from the stack, opened the box, and just stared at it. "Oh... Totally forgot forks and knives," he said, setting the pie on the grass and shoving his hand in his pocket. After about ten seconds of him writhing on the grass like a snake, his hand returned victorious, a red pocketknife firmly in his grasp. Only it wasn't red- it had originally been blue, but he painted it red after he had it returned from the police. Whipping out the two and a half inch knife blade, he quickly and quietly cut the pie into six pieces, before licking and folding the blade and returning it to his pocket. Taking a piece carefully in his hand, he went to take a bite only to have the pie escape and fall onto the grass in front of him.
