Shanderaa entered the office, having rushed there as soon as she had heard the page. She had always tried to be there as much as she could for her master, but even moreso since... that had happened.
"I'm here, sir!" she said, still not totally sure what he had called her in for this morning. Nothing he had needed lately had required a visit to the office. "So... what can I do for you?" she asked with a smile.

He had become unaccustomed to seeing her dressed, since their time in his room. They had spent a whole week there, before leaving, not leaving one, except when Shanderaa stepped out of the door to accept the food that they'd ordered from the kitchen, before going right back in. No one came to disturb them, aside from that, either. Only when a full week had passed was Matasoga ready to face the guild, again. It felt odd, being any sort of formal with her, despite the fact that he had obviously remained more distant since leaving the room, his lingering melancholy the primary factor. All the same he had a job to do, and good news to deliver. "Have a seat," he said, with the smallest of smiles.

She sat down, still trying to figure out what this was all about. What would they meet in here for? She'd been on call for everything he needed, but why was everything so... official, this time?
"You wanted to see me for something?" she started. No sooner did she finish asking did she remember. She thought it was so much further away than this. With all that had gone on lately, it had taken a back seat to trying her hardest to comfort him, and had been the furthest thing from her mind. "... Sir... is it, that, now?!", she fought through her excitement to say.

His smile broadened, coming more easily and more sincere in the sight of her childlike excitement. "It is," he said, as he slid the parcel, wrapped in black silk close to the edge of his desk. "Congratulations and welcome to the Gold Apostles," he said.

She unwrapped it carefully, revealing a badge very similar to the one she always wore. But instead of silver, this one was a shiny, brilliant gold. She pinned it on, admiring it for a moment. It was so beautiful. Not only the badge itself, but everything it represented. Forgetting all of this was supposed to be formal and serious, she got up and hugged Matasoga tightly.
"Thank you, sir." she said softly. "I'm so proud to be yours."

In reply Matasoga only continued to smile. He slowly stood to rise, before turning directly away and clasping his arms behind his back. "In an hour or so, I will be retiring to my room. You are invited to join me." She was still the only one that had or would see his room.

Shanderaa blushed slightly at the offer. Not that she wasn't used to this by now, but because it still delighted her so very much.
She nodded at looked up at him, eyes fluttering. "It'd be my pleasure, sir!", she replied.

Matasoga looked sharply over his shoulder, a glimmer of his old self in his sharky smile. How much was an act and how much was natural was not entirely known even to him. "You are dismissed," he said, in the same spirit of mock formality.

Taken aback by that look, a barely audible "ooh" escaped her lips involuntarily. Ever since the tragedy, she had hoped her care was, at least a little bit, helping him to heal. She took this as a sign that it had been working, and her smile broadened even further."Yes sir! See you in a bit!" She skittered off toward the door, a noticeable spring in her step as she exited the office.

Matasoga had been doing some paperwork and looking over some records in his office, when he had decided that Shanderaa should be properly trained. He had informally broached the issue with her and based on what she had said, what he had seen in Kromli, and what he knew of the discipline, the art of the rogue was probably best suited to her nature... And fortune would have it that a most experienced and obedient rogue was even under their very roof. Exactly what kind of teacher Kromli might turn out to be was yet uncertain, but ever since he obtained the cape of charisma (needed to make full use of his newfound ability to cast one of Matasoga's spells) his confidence seemed to be increased. Really, Matasoga suspected that this had less to do with the cape and more to do with other factors, but that was beside the point, just now. He paged Shanderaa into his office, over the speaker system, asking only that she report to his office.

Shanderaa entered the office, wondering exactly what this was all about. The last time she was here it was to receive a badge, but she didn't think there was one higher than gold to be had. Or... was there? Maybe there was an awesome platinum badge waiting for her in there! Or mythrill! Or... or maybe even a pretty sparkly one made of solid diamond! Excited by this hypothetical (and most likely, completely fictional) honor, she enthusiastically addressed her master. "Good evening sir! You uh. Wanted to talk to me about something?"

He sat at his desk, fingers steeped beneath his nose. "I think it best that you be properly trained, just in case we have to deal with any sort of trouble down the road. I don't anticipate any, but I'd rather spend time now getting you battle-ready and never need it, than risk having you need them later on and being unprepared," he said. "Starting tomorrow," he continued, "you'll be trained by Kromli in the arts of stealth, infiltration, and sleight of hand. You have no objections, I take it?"

"Oh?" Her eyes lit up. As of right now she considered herself a boring, normal minion. No combat experience, no special abilities and no superpowers... totally useless to him as far as battle was concerned. But now, no longer! Now she'd be a boring normal minion that could maybe actually do something! "No! None at all!" she replied. "Though, if its tomorrow, I'll need to rest up... I'll do my best for you, sir!" She hugged him, before exiting to her room. She needed to prepare as best she could for the day ahead; though, really... how hard could this possibly be?

He accepted the hug, but only after a bit of hesitation and with more of a pat on the back than a hug of his own, and then was left with a slightly raised brow that she just walked off without being dismissed. Then it occurred to Matasoga that he was particularly stiff and officious when he was doing any kind of work in his office, and most other people didn't modify their behavior in such a way as he did. Shanderaa was a good example, as she was simply Shanderaa in whichever room of the house she occupied. He pondered briefly if such behavior was becoming of a queen and remembered that the most prominent and active of those he once called Queen left her breasts out on display nearly every day. This was enough for him to dismiss the issue, put nib to paper, and continue the work he was doing on the sheet before him.

An announcement was made over the PA system for Yinzar, Finteus, and Ümadbro to report to Matasoga's office. The large monsters squeezed themselves through the doorway one at a time and each took a seat (before being invited to do so) on the chairs made for much smaller beings that creaked under their great weight. Kromli, meanwhile, stood unnoticed, leaning against the wall, Shanderaa took a space closer to Matasoga, having insisted on being there as well. Matasoga himself sat at his desk. "Yinzar, Finteus and Ümadbro, you have all served me well, but the time has come for you to make a decision. The guildhouse can remain your home if you wish, or you can go back to the lives that you had, before. If you choose this option, you will provided with transportation to where we found you. If you wish to stay, you may keep your rooms here, below deck" he said. With a thought, he lifted the charm spells over them. "The choice is yours," he concluded. ((Yinzar is first, then Finteus, then Ümadbro. Base roll is 10, but since Yinzar had so much more time to form a legitimate bond to the place and Matasoga and he wanted a place where he wasn't forced to do hard work and was given food and a warm place to stay for the winter months, as he was in essence homeless, unlike the others, I am giving him bonuses totaling 4. He must roll over 6, while the others must roll over 10, to decide that they wish to stay. Finteus no longer has a labyrinth to roam, but he too likes the good food and easy life (as well as the quality weapons provided. Ümadbro has enjoyed the perks but is just as likely to be bored as to desire to continue enjoying them.))
