Wow, a lot of the bands on that list I'd never even considered 'metal,' but I guess some people actually think it is...
I'm learning so much from this guild...

metalhead1988 If Slipknot is on the list, why isn't Stone Sour. Its the same band, just with a different name. Just thought I'd mention. Only the singer and guitarist are the same. And their styles are completely different. Oh, and for the record, "Nu" isn't even a word in Latin. Non means not.

soryiu Ok! look my openion(if it counts for a damn!) is this. Slipknot is Nu-metal! nuff said. Static-X is industrial alt. nuff said. disturbed, the album the sickness was Nu, Believe was a mix of alt and light thrash, ten thousand fists is all alt.examples of metal are. avenged sevenfold-metalcore(ver,very, holy s**t, very complex solos) Dragon force-speed thrash(hell no I can't play that fast) Hammerfall,In flames, agony scene, opeth, and showdown. I kind of managed to understand a little of what you tried to type among all those grammar abortions. There's no such thing as 'light thrash' that's just stupid. Dragonforce is 'speed/powermetal' Agony scene is NOT metal... DEFINATELY NOT metal.

Sorry about that. dragonforce is speed/power.
the Agony Scene is metalcore(still a form of metal),"light thrash" is a term usually used to describe a mix of thrash and alternative, and shouldn't Piller be on the list?
(Victum Soul you know a lot,but you don't know as much as you think.)
ps.Nu is a greek letter used for the kn sound. such as knee.

I went to a concert for a band called Remove the Veil(A semi pro band) and was wondering if anyone has heard them, and if they would be considered Nu-metal? they are kind of complex. and the sound is a stripped down version of grindcore.

Why isn't Korn on the list? I've yet to hear a guitar solo from them, Their lyrics would be rap without the guitars, and they make the whole world seem repetitive.

soryiu ps.Nu is a greek letter used for the kn sound. such as knee. And it doesn't even exist in Latin. Also, as far as I know, there's no such thing as Nu-Salt. There is No-Salt, though.

gonk Dragonforce is NOT Speed metal, AT ALL.
They are just Power Metal. NOTHING ELSE! gonk
JUst because some band plays fast, doesn't mean their speed metal.
