i would have to say that Spike would win 95% of the time in a hand to hand combat with Brandon. now on the other hand, a gun fight would be much harder. but because of the last three episodes of Bebop, though, i would have to say that Spike would beat Brandon just because of being older and more experience with it.
you have to remember when you think of Spike; he was in the Red Dragon Syndicate before Cowboy Bebop even started, so he was also a sweeper, along with Vicious.

Thats tough but Id haveto say spike as well.
He just has a luck of the draw mentallity.
Though it would be one hell of a match.

Spike is good, but he not good enough to beat a guy like Brandon. One Brandon has a driving force behind him. "Protect" the ones he cares for and to "Protect" Millenion. It's what makes him get up after he's knocked down. Check out the epp where he took on the necrolizers and Blood war. He was loosing bad, but he didn't give up at all. He kept going even thought those Dpoint rounds were tearing his arm up. Also to keep one protecting Brandon is always practicing and he knows what needs to be done and does not hesitate to do it (except in matters involving love and Harry *b*****d*).
Spike is a bit lazy and doesn't really give a s**t about anything. It's that carelessness that would put him at an immediate disadvantage in a fight with our beloved Brandon.
Final Thought:
Brandon would F^&* Spike up!

Nonchalant as Spike may be, also take for effect that when his mind would be put to the test, he was beyond devoted. Remember 'Toys in the Attic'? Drivin' force.
Besides, if Spike isn't goin' to be all for fightin' against Brandon, what makes you think Brandon would still go after Spike wit' out just cause?
