What the hell is the matter with you?
Yeah, anyway. About a half a dozen people here play WH40K. Don't know for certain, but I think about that much.

ChibiSarafan 6pack1 I believe he means like an outpost over there, make a Barton Town Garrison. If Durem had a forum erea maybe we could have a garrison there, and we would patrol the area via the New Gaia Towns. How bout that? now thats a good idea. we could use the chatroom option as a radio channel. Only problem is, Bos in set in a post apocolyptic setting. umm....Time Machine? Well, if the tower is ever built and dropped again, then we could use that as a nice environment, although, we shouldn't need anything to make it post-apocalyptic if we have good imaginations, and make everything around us a desert....or winter wonderland...

I'm about to have another bout of creativeness, beware. Now I just need more time on my hands, and less of whatever this other stuff is.

Well, I'm at it again, and this shall, if I ever finish it, be my GREATIST CREATION EVER!!! Now that I've got your attention, I'm creating a 3D render of the Brotherhood of Steel base whilst at the same time teaching myself to use Blender. Any insight you might have as how the base should look be aranged etc. is of great assistance, I'll also need textures for the walls ground etc. Currently I'm setting the base up relatively like the picture [.PT.] of [.BORG.] came up with for the map. I'll post a current picture on the front page of my office.

I felt like I should add my comment here instead of all the other places that you posted, since you'll most likely check here before any other. I'd like to give proper credit on our first base map, Fenrir Fenix didn't create the picture, [.PT.] of [.BORG.] did. Basically, it looks like you'd just be switching around the buildings and whatnot, which by the looks of it, would open up more space towards the center of the base, which would allow better vehicle access. But on a few things, if you're basically putting the track that goes around the gym into the wasteland outside the base, might as well simply cut out the track in the map since it's not a seperate place, it's counts as the same place, which is the BOS Gym. Also, the shooting range would probably be best outside the base, but you made it so small where we tried putting it where the full name could be written out on all the buildings, since it does connect to all the threads and makes it easier to click. The airfield should be shown since it is a large portion of any military, instead of some blur that you click off the map. The current map I liked so much because it made everything easy to click for people instead of having to squint and try clicking on one small line or area. Also, the current map has good texture, along with every single watchtower and wall mapped out individually, because notice the wall inbetween the watchtowers? Each of those are mapped out to different coordinates along with each watchtower, which makes it alot more difficult to map, but what quality I'd expect, making everything on the map clickable and to send you to a certain place. Then of course the ground outside the base area sends you to the wasteland thread. Also, the four barracks buildings isn't a fluke, their there for a purpose, to make it easy to change later on. Those two blank buildings isn't mapped as one to Trymann or Auxilium, but they lead you to the wasteland thread for a reason, so that if a new division is made, the thread address can just be put in with those 2 empty barracks buildings already mapped, saving tons of time. Also, the Library was agreed on to be a circle on the map to add a bit of variety instead of all square buildings, since the library kinda has a dome, the circle represents it well in my opinion. Also, I'd like for the text to be about the same since many seem to like the text of the names on the map, gives it a different look than the blocky text. Honestly, I actually like how the dirt texture was put around the gym to make the track since it does go along with the setup better, since the gym does have a track, along with the shooting range being a dirt section inside the base and being convenient for members to walk instead of having to go through the large gates everytime they want to train. The current setup was selected for convenience and for purposes despite not having a clear path from one gate to another. Hmm, but if you want to come up with a map of your own design or just rearranging things, you can go ahead and try if you'd like, but I'd expect better quality of work than the current one, because it'd have to be quite a bit better if we selected yours to put up instead, otherwise, it may be a high chance of it being turned down. Just letting you know ahead of time just in case you still wish to go on with your project, just wouldn't want extreme disappointment in the end if we didn't select yours because it wasn't up to par in quality as the current one, meaning every single thing mapped out in coordinates, where every click will take you to threads and it being mapped out down to the last pixel being accurate, so hopefully you're not using one of those automappers or color box coders that I've seen, those tend to be inaccurate. But also, the buildings can't be squished to try and make more space because all the buildings are quite big in the first place to house everything the base has, whether it be personel or tanks.

I was not concidering mierly moving around the objects on the map we have, I was going to use a textured top-down render and have someone ([.PT.] of [.BORG.]) help create a clickable map like the one we have now. Also the boxes were simply to indicate position rather than shape. And finally, the firing range was moved out of the base to offer variation in shot range a well a the occasional scorpian to shoot at. The track I figured ought be combined with the traning area and thus moved outside. The airstrip is not just a strip along the edge of the wall but I didn't feel like showing the entire setup using paint and the rather insignificant space given.

She simply made the map pic, I did all of the mapping to make it a clickable map, which it took a large amount of time doing all of the coordinates of every line, space, box, etc., hours in fact. She created the map pic, I just did all of the php image mapping work and really don't feel like redoing such a project again and unfortunately, don't know anyone else who does know how. xp Also, the training area that you see in the Base Subforum is on a trial period, it's not a actual thread yet, if it doesn't succeed, it will be deleted. But like I said, if you want to continue on with your project, making a map pic first, that'd be all right to give it a try. Then you'd have to find someone to image map it since I'm pretty sure no one else in the guild knows how, unless you do. The first map took hours to image map out though to make every single pixel clickable and take you somewhere, so even if you find someone, they may not be willing or not have a large chunk of time required, I know I don't anymore. But I asked first before learning image mapping, didn't find anyone who knew how at the time, so that may be one of the biggest problems in your project. Hmm, but anyways, I believe I'm just babbling on now, proceed as you will and we'll see how the end result turns out, if it's good enough, it'll replace the current one, if not, it won't, that sort of thing.
