Hallibel watched Zero appear up by Stark, and moved her Cascada to try and slice into him some more despite the ineffectiveness it apparantly had. Then he suddenly turned his attention to her and fired his second Cero. Her eyes widened and as fast as she could she turned the focused Cascada into the normal massive wave of rushing water in an attempt to blast the Cero with a water equivalent. The water vaporized, canceling out the Cero for the most part, but it wasn't fast enough as Zero had arrived at her side and was already thrusting a punch at her head. With a smirk she almost felt insulted. He was strong, but no punch was going to deal any real damage to her. She took the punch like a pro, and as she did so she raised the blade of her sword up to try and cut off Zero's hand at the forearm. Her attack would be thrown regardless of the result of Stark's attack.

Springing the Trap
Zero, The Way of Chaos

His punch connected, fortunately. It was already going better than he had ever hoped. He realized he would be quickly double teamed again. Stark had decided he wasn't going to play around anymore, and was right there next to him, the instant after his attack connected. But in that instant, Zero was able to bow his head enough so that the bala only singed his hair and the back of his head. The in the next instant, Halibel was was swinging out her sword again, and Zero shifted the hand he had thrown the punch with, moving it to catch her arm, just beneath the sword and hold her back from cutting him down. In that same moment, he extended his left hand and seized hold of Starks shirt. He used all the strength he had just to hold them there, and prevent them from escaping for just a few short seconds. That would be enough... For the sword he left behind. Flying swiftly, and silently, without a drop of reiatsu glinting off the weapon, it flew at Stark's back, as if possessed by some invisible warrior. He hadn't yet let slip that the sword could move independently of his own body. With Stark's focus on him, he hoped it would be just enough of a distraction to let the sword pierce through the arrancar's torso, through his back.

Stark grinned as Zero grabbed his shirt. No sword, not cero, nothing. There was nothing that Zero could do (to Stark's knowledge) to actually hurt him here and he'd take advantage of that fact. With such close proximity Stark wouldn't be able to do a simple Battoujutsu and he knew he likely only had a few seconds to pull this off, so in a flash his right hand flew to his sword, his left to his sheath, and he immediately thrust his hand down with the sheath loosely grasped in it. Normally, when drawing his sword, Stark preferred to keep his sheath on his person, but at this moment he had to discard it in order to gain the full use of his blade. Arm's length was enough to perform this attack. Stark aimed a single handed, yet still plenty powerful, slash for Zero's ribcage. Even if the attack went all the way through it would not have enough room nor actual force to cut Zero in half, but would rather just cut through the bones and about two thirds of the way towards his spine. As his sword passed to his right and the attack had gone through Stark suddenly felt the slicing pain of Zero's sword cutting into his back. "How...? He pondered silently. The strike cut deep enough to clip several ribs on his back and caused subtantial bleeding. He continued the rotation of his attack and knocked the sword away from him then thrust a kick for Zero's knee to keep him busy while he turned back to face the man.

"You..." Hallibel growled as Zero caught her arm and stopped her attack. Her eyes then caught the glimpse of the sword cutting into Stark's back and suddenly they widened out of disbelief as the blood sprayed out from his newly earned wound. She pulled her free arm back, still holding on to her sword with her grasped arm, and shot a Bala for Zero's head just in an attempt to get him to release her arm. From there she'd do her best to sonido away. As she did so she began to charge a Cero with the same hand that fired the bala, then she grabbed ahold of her sword with both hands again and the energy transferred to the sword. If she wanted to make this count she'd need to wait and see what Zero's next move would be, but instead of just standing there she'd thrust her sword forward and fire two more Projectile Azul's at Zero's torso.

Grimmjow watched as the three continued duking it out, and growled to himself, scratching the side of his neck. He hated things like this, when they all fought and left him to dust. He had learnt earlier in life (or death) that he should just stay out of their way when they went like this. In the 'Queen's eyes', he only got in her way. Apparantly.
He turned, and was about to leave, when his head started to hurt. No not hurt...ache. Almost as if something was inside it, clawing it's way out. He put a hand up to his head, and all of a sudden, a hunger clawed it's way from his mind. Not solid hunger, the one where he had food to keep it satisfied, but a deeper hunger...one he hadn't felt for a while, nor one this strong. Hunger...for power.
Wincing, he stumbled, leaning on a nearby pillar, eyes closed, and his breathing becoming more deep, hand clutching his head.
Power...Strength...tired...need more...so tired...why... why am I so tired of being weaker..., these thoughts running through his head, some rising almost subconsciously.

Full Power
Zero, The Way of Chaos

Once Stark pulled out his sword, Zero knew his focus was on him, and he wouldn't notice Zero's own zanpaktou flying towards Stark's back. When he raised his arm to slash downwards, Zero let go and started moving back to avoid the strike. He was not able to miss it entirely and the sword created a gash below his arm a few centimeters deep. There was a small amount of blood spray that spattered onto the dome below them. Though he was still aware of halibel, he was not able to avoid the bala she fired. He felt the impact to the right side of his head, causing him to recoil from the force. It seared with heat, but nothing he couldn't take. However, it was then compounded by the thrust kick from Stark, that he wasn't even able to see because of the bala. He was hit in the middle of his chest and he flew backwards from the force several meters until he landed on the ground, crouched in a kneeling position. But before he could even move an inch from there, the azuls hit him. Once on his right shoulder, and then a more direct hit on the left side of his chest. Both left gashes and tore apart more of his clothing. He had recoiled once again, but soon came back to the kneeling position he was in.

His breath had become heavy. He was becoming tired. It was becoming more and more difficult to avoid their attacks. They both sustained little damage, they attacked from two sides, they were both learning his techniques and how to counter them, and they were becoming more and more aggressive. In addition to that, off to the side, he sensed yet more danger. He gave it a glance and saw the source of the further increase in reiatsu in the air. The third and final hollow of this realm, whom he had not properly addressed. He realized that the third was going to attack. He had no choice now. It was do or die. He raised his hand and his zanpaktou shot from the ground, flying towards him until he grasped it in his hand. He stood up and faced his two opponents, readying his sword. "I did not think that I would have to do this," he said, "But you have given me no choice." He reached up with his free hand and pulled back the tatters of his clothing, revealing his hollow hole. "This will be the final stage of our battle," he added, lifting his sword and allowing it to float free of his hand.

The sword aimed back at him, pointing directly at his hollow hole. "Glimmer..." he said, calling out his blade as it stabbed forwards into the place where his heart used to be, "Black Dragoon" There was a sudden explosion of reiatsu around his body, a black veil flaring up into the sky and obscuring his form. The storm of black energy whirled around him as his transformation proceeded, encircling him until it finally dissipated. What was revealed was a man now clad in white plated armor, from head to toe. His head was now covered by a helmet in the shape of an eyeless dragon's skull, with a pair of monstrous fangs that framed either side of his face. On his shoulders were set a large of pauldrons, and his gauntlets covered only his index fingers. From his waist flowed the tail end of the coat that he wore, still black as night, and his greaves bore a set of vicious looking claws. On his back there was a large sphere, and on that sphere sat six odd looking devices that were semi-conical in shape.

His transformation complete, he heaved a sigh. He felt refreshed. Many of his wounds having healed over because of the change, as well as giving him an enormous boost of energy. He could fight back quite effectively now. He raised his arms crossing them in front of him and then spreading them apart. The six devices that he called lances perched on the sphere seperated from it, flying around him before taking up a circular formation around him. He reached up with either hand towards two of the lances and they each formed a small cylinder at their base to form a handle that he could grasp. Four of the lances suddenly formed large black blades made of solid reiatsu from their tips, the two in his hands, and the two closest to him in the air. The other two lance's tips glowed with a black light, but otherwise remained stationary. Fully prepared he looked at his opponents, raising his right hand, still grasping the new sword. He extended his index and middle finger forwards and then with a flick of his wrist, he beckoned them forwards. "Come."

Stark watched the transformation into Zero's released form with a cocked eyebrow. At least now they knew what his new form looked like, and the dramatic increase in power was nothing to take lightly. No, this was quite impressive actually. Stark wondered how this Arrancar managed to fly under Aizen's radar all those years ago. He would have made a fine Espada. Despite all that Stark wasn't about to just rush the guy, he knew better than that. It would take all of his skill with a blade to fight so many weapons and he needed to hang back for a bit and let Hallibel gague his strength for a while. And so Stark dashed forward, but as soon as he was within two meters of Zero he'd vanish in sonido only to appear above him several meters in the air. With his katana in one hand and his other hand in his pocket he began a volly of over a dozen bala blasts to provide a bit of a distraction. He hoped that Hallibel would be able to get in and make a strike. Despite Zero's increase in power Stark was confident that Hallibel was still fast enough to keep up with him, and strong enough to deal damage with her sword if she got the chance. In the heat of all of this Stark missed the fact that Grimmjow was still there, and acting rather strange at the moment...

Finally, they had pushed him far enough to release his sword. While his transformation was indeed impressive, as was his significant boost in power, Hallibel was actually happy that he had released it. She was taking him seriously enough before, but she was reacting accordingly to the level of strength he was displaying. Now that Zero had released his sword he was about as strong as he could get (at least that's what she thought). Now she could gague his new strength by increasing her own level of reiatsu output to new levels not reached before, she fed more cero energy into her sword. He had six weapons now, so it would be unwise to attack him head on without some form of a distraction, but then again, that's what Stark was for at the moment. Hallibel smirked and suddenly vanished. It was time to use a technique she hadn't used since her battle with Nagaharu over 50 years ago. With the rain of bala shots coming down at Zero Hallibel was counting on him doing one of two things, either dodging the blasts with greate finesse, or simply taking the hits. If he dodged them it would mean that he had gotten a speed boost, but if he took the hits it would mean that he was strong enough not to care about them, and that would be a problem considering that Stark's balas were stronger than the full powered cero of even Adjuchas class menos. In any case, if he dodged she'd appear to his left, and she'd aim a horizontal strike with her sword for his waist. If he stood there and took the hits, she'd appear directly behind him and aim a stab for the middle of his back. One thing to take into account was the fact that her Cero energy was still being stored in her blade, and until it was released, it would increase the damage potential of the blade itself. The blade was glowing blue, which would be a good indicator of that fact.

Warming Up the Overdrive
Zero, the Way of Chaos

He lowered his arm as he looked from one to the other, gauging their reactions. Halibel was starting to take him more seriously, increasing her own level of power in response. Stark, however, seemed to have different ideas. He looked up as the relaxed arrancar jumped up above him. Zero's eyes narrowed slightly. "That pose..." he said quietly. Stark was still too relaxed. His hand in his pocket as he once more attacked, Stark's pose was almost insulting. However, Zero wouldn't go punishing him for it quite yet. He could have easily blocked, but instead chose to dodge, kicking off from the ground and gliding backwards as the four airborne lances followed. His senses given higher clarity, he noticed Halibel coming towards him to take advantage of Stark's distraction. He turned quickly, turning the oscuro corte in his left hand around to hold it back handed as he turned and blocked the stab with the wide face of the black energy blade. There was an electrical crackle and a spark of dark energy as the blades collided, as opposed to a metal clashing sound. Though it may have looked easy on the outside, Zero's arm did feel the full jarring force of the attack. Zero stared into the female arrancars eyes for a split second before quickly raising the sword in his right hand and stabbing forwards towards her chest. The two Oscuro Corte still hovering ominously in the air, followed immediately after the initial stab, both stabbing towards each of her lungs, extending beyond the range of his normal thrust if she had moved backwards to avoid it.

She was too close. Hallibel jumped back as fast as she could, but the stab was too close to fully avoid and her sword wouldn't be able to block it, so she did the next best thing to avoid the first stab by using her own left hand to parry the attack. The black energy sliced through her hierro and caused some substantial bleeding, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Now that she'd jumped back and gained a little distance her sword could come into use again. She swiped the two following attacks aside using the full length of her sword to her advantage, and then she charged in again, but then a second Hallibel would appear directly behind him. The one that charged in aimed a powerful downward strike for Zero's forehead, while the second one suddenly pulled her left hand up to the blade of her sword and pulled the cero energy out of the blade itself. With the power that was already stored up and the cut on her hand she would suddenly gain a massive power boost. "Gran Rey Cero..." She said in a hush before firing the blast straight for his back.

Stark continued to cover Hallibel with whatever bala blast he could while waiting for a moment to strike, however he ceased his firing as soon as Hallibel moved to use her after images. Even he couldn't quite tell which one was the real one and he wanted to avoid friendly fire as much as possible. When he saw her pull the cero energy back from her sword he immediately sonido'd up higher into the sky. He didn't need to be in the immediate area for this particular attack. As soon as the Gran Rey was fired he began to charge his own cero. It wasn't that he didn't trust her Gran Rey to destroy this enemy, he just wanted to be prepared. The blast was so massive and powerful that he couldn't see the result, so all he could do for now was wait.

Exceeding the Limit
Zero, The Way of Chaos

After the two follow up strikes were swiped away, he had them return to him and he prepared to attack again. The tips of the two seemingly innactive lances that he left hovering in the air sheened with black light. They were ready. He raised his swords, and all four floating lances got into attack position. She charged first, and he quickly blocked her sword with both of the oscuro corte in his hands. The two left hovering quickly shot forwards, aiming to stab her in the stomach. However, he sensed movement behind him, and he quickly turned around in time to see the ominous energy charging up. Gran Rey Cero!? What attack was that? Wait, he knew this attack! He had developed a similar one himself. This was extremely bad. He could not dodge in time, so he was forced to block somehow. He released the two lances in his hands and all four of the floating oscuro corte moved in front of him, forming a ring and pointing their blades inwards to the center. They overlapped eachother, and just as massive negative energy blast shot forwards, they began to spin rapidly.

He was engulfed completely by the blast, which suddenly expanded further at the point where he was standing. However, the results could only be seen from behind him, where no one dare stand. He was resisting the blastwave. The oscuro corte had created a defensive formation in front of him, and were spinning rapidly, creating a powerful sheild. The energy of the blast was being spun outwards, where it wouldn't hurt him, and he was safe behind his shield. The blast wave soon passed, and all that was left was the scorched rooftop of Las Noches, which had been nearly stripped away, along with a cloud of smoke from the vaporized stone. The now unstable air crackled with static, as if the dimension itself threatened to come apart at the seems. The cloud was soon blown away by a wind light wind, and Zero's silhouette appeared amidst the destrection. The moment he could see Halibel in front of him, there was a black gleem behind him as his powerful Point Cero shot out towards her. The powerful, nearly unavoidable black ray of energy was virtually unblockable, and any defense she put up would quickly be cut through. Even if it hit her, it would pass through her body, and cut a scar straight through the roof of Las Noches.

Hallibel exhaled sharply as the blast finished ripping along the roof of Las Noches, tearing molecules and even the fabric of space bit by bit in various measures. The characteristic static electricity popping in the air afterwards was music to her ears. It would do more than just make for an interesting ambiance on their chosen battlefield, but that would have to wait for later, for as soon as the wind picked up the result of her attack was revealed and a black beam of energy came speeding straight toward her. Focusing all of her energy into her reflexes to enhance her hierro, since dodging was not quite an option even with her speed, she more or less tried to fall into a roll off to the side but ended up taking the blast where one's kidney would be located on an anatomical chart. The beam shot straight through her abdomen off to the side and instead of rolling off to the side she fell back into a roll and ended up falling back into one of the many holes in the roof that were created as a result of battle, out of sight.

Wasting no time after Zero's attack, Stark appeared directly in front of Zero with no more than a meter and a half between them, and immediately fired the cero he'd been charging. While the attack was indeed meant to do damage, Stark also wanted to keep the pressure on Zero for just a moment longer. That attack Zero had fired at Halibel was something that Stark had never seen. He'd heard Uluquiorra speak of something similar once or twice in the past, but this was the first time he'd seen it put into practice. A narrow beam cero with that much penetrating power could be useful, he'd have to at least attempt it at some point soon. But for now he'd continue to gauge Zero's strength against his own. Pulling his second hand out of his pocket, Stark placed both hands on the hilt of his sword and raised it up, pointing the edge of the blade up toward the sky, the tip of the sword toward Zero, and his shoulders turned so that they drew a straight line parallel with the sword. This stance would do nicely against Zero's lances, or at least that's what Stark assumed. That phantom sword strike from earlier was powerful enough to contend with at least a one handed defense, so he'd require both hands to handle more attacks that were similar. Of course, he would have to amp up his own reiatsu to deal with Zero's released form as well. Anyone who knew Stark before the Fourteenth Squad defeated Aizen would know that he was now displaying far more power than he had back then. With Lilynette reabsorbed and a number of other hollows devoured his increase in strength would be of use here.

One Down
Zero, The Way of Chaos

At least one had been taken care of. Or so it would seem. She was out of sight, but he felt that he had not hit her in the right place to eliminate her. Only wound her. Only a moment later, did the other come to take her place. Instead of moving out of the way, or moving to block, Zero barely twitched as the cero blast fired at nearly point blank range. He wouldn't have been able to dodge it even if he had reacted in time. Instead, the very second after Stark fired, the black light on his second lance shined, and the second point cero fired directly into the opposing blast wave. The much weaker opposing cero had it's energy splintered, splitting away from Zero as the black beam tore through the energy. It almost instantly shot through the blast wave and straight at Stark's torso. He couldn't get a perfect shot in, but he was fairly certain of where Stark was.

In the interim, Zero's index fingers, the only two covered by the white gauntlets on his hand, began to glow with the same black light. He decided to free up all of his lances, and charge his point cero closer to his body instead. The oscuro corte burst to life on all six of his lances, and Stark would soon understand that a close range battle was not in his favor. Zero reached out and snatched two of his six lances out of the air. He crossed them in front of them, and aimed them in a scissor formation at Stark's neck. The other four, still in the air, all pointed towards the enemy hollow as well. "You have one last chance to surrender and let me pass," Zero said, "I will kill you if you do not." Internally, he knew that Stark would not surrender, as the man had yet to release his own ressureccion, and perhaps had more tricks up his sleeve. However, Zero did not want to be drained any more. Blocking that gran ray was no easy feat with only four of his oscuro corte.
