Millefune Insurance companies use gathered data, and gathered data seems to imply that younger kids drive 350Zs and are a bigger risk factor than Corvettes which are generally driven by older, more experienced and responsible, men. Precisely. In addition, the Corvette has lower maintenance costs and is a bigger car, therefore safer.

By the way, I didn't spend 10 grand on my audio system. I said that's what anyone else would have spent. I'm an employee of an authorized retailer and my car is good for advertising, so JL and Rockford give me significant discounts, and Kenwood practically throws their s**t at me. In addition, I built the system, so labor wasn't a factor. But, when you go to JL Audio.com and add all of the equipment I have, it totals out to be $3,499.50. Add in the Rockford 3SIXTY.2 for $699.99 and you get $4,199.49.
Then, add in the Kenwood stuff. I have the DNX-5120 with the add-on Bluetooth, which is now unavailable and has been replaced by the DNX-6140 with Bluetooth built in; essentially the same thing. The DNX-6140 goes for $1,049.99 on Crutchfield, so that brings the total to $5,249.98. Then, add a PAC steering wheel controls interface for $74.99 from Crutchfield, the Kenwood iPod video cable for $29.99, a SiriusConnect tuner for $49.99 and a CA-SR20V Sirius to Kenwood adaptor for $19.99. And, finally, figure in about $70 worth of Rockford oxidation-free RCAs and about $50 worth of 12 gauge speaker wire.
The total, then, for the equipment would be $5,544.44 plus tax, and that's before any labor. If you committed one installer to the job non-stop, it'd take in excess of three working days. That's at least $2,000 in labor costs, not to mention paying for the materials like 3/4" MDF, fiberglass resin, silicone and polly-cotton to make the subwoofer enclosure, wiggleboard and textured suede to make the cover plate that's placed over the amplifiers and woofers, and the loads of Dynamat used that would equate to a $279.99 34 square foot kit.

I want to hear your cars sound system. I can't imagine what that kind of thing sounds like. I mean, I got a box for my subs from the manufacturer, premade. I hook them up to an amp, then I sit them in the trunk lol.
I couldn't spend 5 grand on a sound system if I wanted to.

Wow Friv, seems as if you have some pretty neat things in your car. Hopefully when i get a 240 I'll be able to put in a banging sound system myself.
