Lance, though strengthened by the spell almost not at all (an unfortunate side effect of the full blood draconian's natural spell resistance coupled with the fact that his reservoirs of strength so large that the renewal is a small fraction of his total), clenches his fists and slams his hands into the wall behind him. Forcing himself to his feet, he takes a step forward to redistribute his weight. Spreading his massive wings at the same time allows him to shoft his center of gravity further, giving him the ability to compensate for his lack of strength further. With another grunt, he takes several steps forward as if testing something. Appearantly satsified with the result, he turns toward the girl.
"I...will go retrieve something for that soup," he says, flicking his right wrist. The arms of a full sized heavy crossbow (the variety normal people need a winch to reload) spring into place and lock there, and he raises it to vertical position. He straightens its placement on his wrist, then flicks open the armor plate over the back half of the weapon and removes the clip therein. Removing bolts from another plate, he reloads the weapon and replaces the clip and extra ammunition before stepping out into the cold.

Kairen said nothing, her callused hands stirring the simmering mixture skillfully. She LIVED on instant soup base. It was HER necessary basis for life. Following that fact is another, that she has an insatiable sweet tooth and a metabollism so high she never gains an ounce off a bag of chocolate. However, that resulted in hyperness, which wasn't the best idea to follow while adventuring.

She heated a flat stone that she carried with her and began mixing the heavy flour for travel bread in a small bowl. It was a bread that rose rapidly in the spacde of 20 minutes and was condensed enough that a slice should last you several hours. She baked a large loaf today, assuming her rescuer ate more from the fact he's about 2 feet taller than she was.

Lance walks slowly through the wilderness near the cave, following the cliff which that cave is in. It's here somewhere...after a loud thunk that echoes about the area, the giant draconian approaches his kill. It is a quadrapedal mammal, something similar to a deer. This will help a great deal.

A short time later, Lance walks slowly into the cave carrying half of the animal's meat, all cleaned as best can be done in the field. The location of the other half of the meat will not be stated here, though he is chewing something. He standing a good deal straighter than he had been when he left, and he is visibly stronger.
"Nothing is more rejuvenating than a healthy serving of meat," he intones jovially placing the meat on another stone and placing it next to the fire and revealing that he is, at this point, not wearing the forearm plates or gauntlets from his armor. They are instead attatched to his hips by a set of hooks which were previously unnoticable, allowing him to keep his ornate suit clean of the blood from his kill.

Practiced skill gave her the ability to quickly hack off a chunk of good flesh and rapidly slice it into thin, translucent slices. She washed them thoroughly and seasoned them quickly in ground onion and garlic with salt water. The thin slices easily absorbed the flavor and she dropped these into the soup. Three minutes later, she pronouced softly that it was done and let the floating cauldron settle on the ground, smothering the magical fire. It was going to be a long, wary night for her. She felt queer around the large stranger, and even her harp was sharp and jumpy to the touch.

"Excellent, my lady," Lance says, having just washed the blood from his arms with water from a large canteen. Replacing his gauntlets and verifying that Sentinel's arms are locked in place after reloading the single bolt used to get his food, he sits down next to the fire he built earlier next to where Hunter is propped against the wall. This female seems wary of him, for some reason. Why?

Carefully ladeling the soup out into air pewter bowls, she handed the larger bowl and a spoon to him and sat down crosslegged with the smaller one, sipping slowly. The soup was thick and creamy, laden wild vegetables and thin, savory meat. The bread was done two minutes later, and she removed the oiled cloth she baked it under. Taking a bread knife, she sliced thick slices from the loaf and indicated to the man to help himself. Traveler's bread was her favorite recepie to cook, and her most practiced do to her traveling. It was rich and filling without butter, flavorful without fruit perserves and moist without soup, and it usually stayed that way for a long time. She had added dried berries and a little extra sugar into the flour this time. Kairen took a slice for herself and nibbled on it between her soup.

Lance takes his bowl with a kind word, then slowly drinks it without the use of the spoon. Chunks of food which are too large for normal people to eat politely are perfectly fine for him, due to the proportionately increased size of his mouth. Then, he takes a piece of bread once he has been given the okay and eats it at a similar pace.
"I must compliment your cooking prowess," he says with a smile, "It's odd to have food better than what can be found in town here in the wilderness."

"Grassiermesso, encore." She replied softly, sipping at her soup with occasional cautious glances at him. Kairen decided it was better to stay circumspect towards the stranger. Her eyes scanned his inconspiciously, looking for hidden intentions. She found none, but stayed in her wary mindframe.

"Thank you, again. I am Kairen of the Storm." She introduced herself, "I don't believe I know your name as of yet?"

"Oh, you'll have to forgive me for my lapse," the draconian says, setting his bowl aside before standing and bowing with a flourish. "My name is Lance Feyton, professional tactician of the Tatsunian Army and draconian in charge of the defence of the town of Niana. Or, at least, I was until I was asked to investigate a report of a Zeluisian deserter in this forest," Lance says, sitting down once more.

En had made his way miles from the sight of the battle. He was breathing heavily and he knew that if he moved too much he could make something much worse. He finaly landed in a tree, draping his cloak and chains over a branch. He laid there, bleeding. He hoped that his fast healing would keep him from dying.

Kairen nodded courteously. "Pleasure to meet you, sir. Pleasure to have company with another draconian. I am an adventurer, and I seek the six orbs." She felt a twinge in her right arm and glanced at it. The arm was laced with wires of lightning the same color as the man with the chains'. She could feel it screaming out at her, dying to destroy her like a plague, spreading to the other parts of her body. Her mind was calm, it was her own fault for fighting so hard against another of similar powers. If it took over her arm and forced her to kill herself, she would take it calmly, like anyone with draconian blood.

"Ah, now that's not something I see every day. Someone else who actually gives a wyvern's rear about the old legends...that looks like a rather odd affliction. I'm afraid I don't know enough to get rid of that, but if we can get back to civilization, I have a friend who can deal with that easily. The child of a Fairy and an Elf named Creen Darigin. He practically reattatched my left arm once," Lance says pointing at the wounded limb with a clawed hand.

"Thank you kindly to not use terms such as ." She replied calmly, "My wonderful aunt on my mother's side who taught me to cook, she was part wyvern and part draconian like my mother. In fact, it was my mother who was born out of wedlock, not her. That would probably be why I believe the legends. Wyverns live long, and there is nothing wrong with their rear end." Her voice was just slightly sharpened from the unintended insult, as a small warning. "As for this , I can handle it. It tells me the condition and whereabouts of my enemies. In truth, it can be of service in dire times."

Kairen rose. The sky was darkening for night. "Speaking of times, I might be going now. Thank you for your help. I assure you it is most unlikely that I need it again." The harp plucked its strings sharply and slowly in a nearly sardonic tone. She put a hand to it to silence the strings. "Excuse my rude personality." Kairen apologized for her instrument's conspicious behavior, and began cleaning the dishes. She had no intention of staying too long with a stranger. Things... particular things... can easily happen.

"If that is what you want, then so be it. I should, however, warn you that the weather turned truly dangerous as I was entering the cave last. I would not recommend such a venture had you not nearly killed yourself so recently. Even had you some variety of weather control magic, that would require far more effort than is safe at this point..." The draconian's brow furrows for a moment. "But of course, you know that already. Forgive me for my lapse and for my insensitivity to your family."
With that, Lance moves so that his back is up against the wall, providing enough space in the cramped area for the girl to move past and into the frigid night.

"Thank you." She jerked her head towards the remaining half of the loaf of bread, "And keep the bread and soup. It might save you several days worth of meal." She looked up and spoke a phrase that parted the clouds with lightning. "Mera tesc'Lecstromatriache!" The violet dragon of her personal magic materialized from the clouds as she climbed the air as fast as the wind. The traces of lightning laced around her right arm mingled with the body of the serpent dragon.

"Obey your queen and find him!" She swung onto the creature's back as it obliged quickly. Kairen was going to have a talk with the man with the chains.
