Biohazard EXTREME

If Resident Evil started off with a cult of parasitic people who can grow into giant bugs, 5 times their size in less than 10 seconds (creating matter out of nowhere, which is physically impossible), I probably would've hated it back then too.

The cult is the introduction of the plaga, they aren't around now, from the looks of things, now, we have rebel extremists in Africa who have been given the plaga(Which are not creating matter out of nowhere, like you think, they are, currently existing cells are constantly dividing, and multiplying, like a baby in the womb, at a rapid rate.)

So, can anything in my debate be argued or are we done?

Resident Evil was about three things to me: Zombies (as in dead, decaying corpses walking around, eating flesh), T-Virus and Umbrella, the company which puts on a friendly face, while conducting evil experiments in secret. They got rid of all of that.
But even if they didn't, I hated the narrative of Umbrella Chronicles. The way Wesker was portrayed, the new character, Sergei Vladimir and his whole backstory. I simply didn't like it. That's 2 for 2. I don't want to consider those games a part of the storyline. And unless RE5 chooses to ignore the existence of RE4 and Umbrella Chronicles, it'd either way be a reminder of those two games, which will, in turn, ruin the older games for me. Then I wouldn't be able to play ANY RE game.
I can give you a bunch of reasons, but the bottom line is, what they've done with Resident Evil: I hate it. And it's my right as a gamer to ignore those games completely. It's all I can do to preserve my love for the classic RE games.

Oh, and for the record, in order to constantly divide and multiply, cells need nourishment. Now, from what I saw, Saddler didn't devour anything really big as he was transforming.

But we're getting way off topic here.

That's where you have to suspend your disbelief, all parts in video games have this, it's where reality, falls out of the story to make it more interesting.

Well, maybe if I actually found it interesting.

You know, there's a line between Science Fiction and Fantasy. I always saw Resident Evil as a Science Fiction franchise and I just feel like RE4 crossed that line into fantasy. I mean, a lava pit with giant fire spitting dragon statues? Really?

Like I said, if you want to play them, go ahead. There's still a bunch of other franchises I can enjoy.

Have you seen any flame throwing statues in Re5?

I didn't see them in any RE4 trailers either.
What I did notice in RE5 is that Chris gives that new girl a boost, and she jumps virtually 7 feet in the air, landing on the intended platform. That's just a little over the top for me.

See, another thing that I always liked about Resident Evil is that it was ordinary people facing extraordinary odds. With how they portrayed Leon, and now Chris, and this new girl. These people seem like freakin superheroes. And unless they got nanomachines enhancing their natural human abilities, I have a hard time believing they could do that.

And like I said, I'm sure if I played RE5, it would make references to the Las Plagas incident, and very possibly to the events in Umbrella Chronicles. And I don't like to acknowledge that those games exist.

I don't understand why it's so hard for you to accept that I don't want anything to do with the new Resident Evil games?

Because I'm bored and you were being stupid at the time, so I decided to pick on you.

And Johnny is a better choice than Leon any day. At least crap doesn't come out of Johnny's MOUTH.

I was referring to things like, "Where's everyone going? Bingo?" and "I don't remember being a part of your crappy script."
You can't tell me that you actually thought that those types of things Leon said were cool.

Because lines like "Who's blood is this? I hope this is not Chris' blood!" and "A few seconds later and you would have been a Jill sandwich!" were so much better.

Barry wasn't trying to be badass when he said those lines though.
With Leon, the intention wasn't, "Oh, that was funny, he's cheesy." The intention was, "That's so badass! I wanna be like him!" At least, it didn't feel like Capcom was TRYING to make Leon sound like a corny idiot.

Capcom doesn't exactly have the best writers....

Well, with the amount of dialogue that they're starting to put into their games, there's all the more chances to make it very bad.
Either way, I'm done with them. All I can do is try and preserve what love I have for the classic RE games.
