Ah hah....If any of you start with some form of worship for this, you will be summarily smacked upside the head...(I already had to destroy a cult of 11 year olds for this...don't be the next on my hit list, eh?)
I had to choose other. Harr. Back in the day (as all good oldbie stories begin) I was kicking around the BAAU forum...And lo, l0cke had left a link to his and Lanzer and crew's latest project, asking us to check it the hell out. Bored and curious at to what the crap had been keeping XD so bloody busy, I checked gaia out...
PS Wendi's right about ZTB, he is all kinds of ew, and Mahii, dewd, who are you? ~pokes mercilessly~

Okay, I went to Camp Hyrule (I don't know if any of you know what that is, its a week long thing that happens at the end of summer every year which is like a bunch of chatrooms and minigames and other cool stuff [at least it was cool three years ago, I didn't go the last two years... sweatdrop ]) and I met a group of totally awesome people there (Moon, Powthelobster, and a few others who don't go on gaia) and we stayed friends after it ended. One day, Moon told us all to go check out this awesome forums she had found, and when she asks you to do something, she tends to pester you non-stop until you do it, so I went and joined up. Within three days, I was spending 3 or more hours a day on gaia. I found a little thread (I don't remember the name of it now) and met two people there who I became friends with (Boombanda and...er, I don't remember her gaia name, but her real name was Cecil) and went to that thread a lot. After about a week of being in there, I was invited to a chat that Moon started on AIM, and when I got in, there were two screennames that I didn't know. I asked who they were, and they said that they were two sisters who were friends with Pow in real life. When I asked if they went on gaia, they told me their names, and it turned out that they were Boombanda and Cecil!
So yah, thats my overly long and probably not intresting to anyone but me story of how I joined gaia. sweatdrop

A friend told me about Gaia. I wasn't interested. I'm just not social enough for a forum... Too shy, maybe?
Well, at the time, she had the world's crappiest Mac, so she called me up to ask if I'd log on to her account and buy her a few things from the store. I was immediatly hooked. Skipped a day of classes to shop about Gaia. I didn't need no Humanities, anyhow.
