(.... scream Who DOESN'T know that? Anyways, let's pretend this is the next day, so that there's a plausible reason for Nathan being there. Since he went home for the day b/c it was getting too late) Nathan sat in his boat as he & his assistant made their way to the site of the sunken U-Boat, making some final checks on his equipment before the dive "Going to have to be careful if I go inside the wreck itself" he muttered

((Well, I was just OOCing cause I was too lazy to think up more worthless posts. Yay for time skips. ^_^ )) " See ya gramps, I'm heading out!" Rayne calls back into the cave as she pushes aside the rock at the entrance. Rayne hears something drop, then a curse, then a goodbye, and smiles as she swims outside. Rayne opens her gills wide, taking in the fresh water and smiles, stretching, then shuts the door. Another great day for exploring.
Humming a tune to herself, Rayne flicks her tail, then starts to swim, heading for the outer boundaries as usual. Today, though, she decided to head down river, maybe go somewhere she hadn't been. The trench was nice, but it wasn't the only place with wrecks. Plus, she doubted the human would go to the same ship again, and she was secretly hoping to see him again.

((What?)) After swimming for a while, Rayne slows down. The water had the taste of salt to it, and it was the faintest bit less murky now. The water was a bit warmer, and the current was changing. She was getting closer to the mouth of the river. Even when she went outside the boundaries, Rayne didn't often make her way out to sea, at least, not the deep sea. She'd been out there once as a child and had an almost deadly encounter with a shark. The scars from the bites were still faint silver right beneath her ribs on her ride side. Anyways, since then, even she'd avoided the deep ocean. At the moment, though, she was still in the River delta. Rayne glances around, then continues her slow swim forward, searching for any wrecks of interest.

Rayne stops swimming as she spots it. The boat. It was dead ahead and somebody was hanging off the back of it, in the same scuba gear as yesterday. Rayne swims forward a bit, then hesitates. Who said it was the same diver and boat? There could be other humans around who did this, and she was in a whole new area. Looking around, she quickly turns to the side and swims down to hide in a large patch of kelp. It was the tall kind and would provide ample cover. Rayne swims into the middle of it, then turns around and looks up, back towards the boat, to see what the diver was going to do next.

Rayne edges forward a bit through the kelp, going slowly so he wouldn't notice her and watches as he descends. It looked like the same human.... but then again, she'd only ever seen one. They might all look a lot alike, and he was in scuba gear. Rayne hesitates, then swims out, keeping low to the ground as she swims over to hide behind a rock closer to him, then goes from there to another patch of kelp. Today she meant to follow her grandfather's advice and not be seen... at least... she meant to do that.

As he came closer to the boat, Ryuu suddenly pulled up short, seeing two figures swimming around the wreckage. One was a mermaid, who he knew - Rayne, a fellow explorer who had a grandfather who said the same things as Toyo did, but more boastfully than his grandma. But the other was less distinct, and didn't even look like a mer of any kind. It's tail was split -

Ryuu's eyes suddenly widened as this thought came to him. A split tail - that's what Toyotama had said humans looked like. But humans couldn't really exist - could they? His interest piqued, he slowly swam towards the spot where Rayne was spying.

"Ah-ha!" Nathan thought to himself, the spot-light glinting off some metal on the sea floor "Jack-pot!" he added, swimming over to the U-Boats wreck, placing his hand on the stern diving planes "Never thought I'd see a U-Boat in person"
