Vitae laid on the ground. His body was cold to the touch and his hair had turned grey. His skin was pale and his eyes were shut. The god did not respond to Olan's voice. He seemed lifeless.

When there was no response, Olan tried to shake him. "Vitae? Vitae! Are you just going to give up? Do you believe Eros? It's not true, what he said! I didn't even get to explain!" He heard an all-too familiar growling, undoubtedly from a certain fox, and he stopped. "It's all my fault, isn't it? I didn't do anything, and I couldn't endure the void. I was too weak. I'm so sorry." The former mortal gathered his husband, assuming he was still there, into his arms. "Am I too late? Have I lost you?"

The god's chest inflated a little and then deflated, but the god remained in his state of lifelessness. At least the god was still alive, Yet, at the same time he seemed so distant from the rest of the world as he rest in his husband's arms.

Olan wasn't sure if he merely imagined Vitae breathing, but he knew somehow that he was still living. However, it didn't change the fact that he was still terrified for the god. He looked so dead, and guilt wrenched at the fisherman's heart. If he knew this would happen if he gave up back in the void, he would have willed himself to endure it forever if needed.
For a moment, he wondered if Gaia would know what to do, but he surely couldn't expect her to help Vitae all the time. Still, it wouldn't hurt to try to ask her. Olan turned to possibly ask Timiki to look for the goddess, as he wasn't sure if he could carry Vitae and he definitely couldn't leave him alone, but the fox had gone already. Hopefully, she already knew what to do.

Gaia was tending to a garden on the mountain as she sung a little tune. She walked around and threw seeds in the ground, causing trees to sprout that quickly bore fruit and died, only the sprout again as saplings. "This weather..." The goddess sighed and went back to singing as she kept flinging seeds every which way.

Timiki had indeed been searching for Gaia, all the while muttering about how she had been doing a lot of searching today. once she found the goddess, she ran up to her and barked in such a way that she hoped sounded urgent.

"What is it girl? Did someone fall down a well?" Gaia asked the fox in her most sincere voice possible, "Timiki, you know I can't understand you so why don't you just lead the way to that well... I'll think of... something... Hmmm.... I could grow a tree in the well... We'll think of it along the way." The goddess Gaia started to walk beside the fox, "No... Trees grow slowly on the earth... Perhaps vines... But what if one snaps..."

Timiki hurried back to where she last saw Vitae and Olan. For some reason, she couldn't help but doubt that Gaia would be able to do something. After all, Vitae had a broken heart. It wasn't something that could be easily fixed.

When Gaia finally got to the 'well' she was utterly shocked at what she saw. Her son unconscious in his husband's arms. She felt his skill and it was frigid to the touch. Then she saw the paleness of his whole body. She shrieked in horror and took Vitae from Olan. "You will never see him again!" She shouted with rage at the former human and looked back at her son. She floated away, a few tears escaping her eyes.

Never see him again? Honestly, Olan didn't blame her, however, he didn't want to think about never seeing Vitae again. There had to be something he could do, but Gaia had gone before he had the chance to explain himself. It looks like he would have to expect another trial sometime soon.
He glanced sadly at Vitae. He couldn't help thinking that the god was gone. Why else would Gaia have screamed so loudly?
