Nathaniel

Quietly, Nathaniel waited for Siff to leave before staring intently after him. It was impossible to tell what Nathaniel's face was showing. But it could be seen at his sides that his muscles were tensing: he was gritting his teeth. Other than that, it was hidden. He waited for himself to calm down before he spoke or made any obvious moves; towards Grace anyway. He felt free to knead Perrine quickly and bring her close to his chest. His heart was pumping quickly. He let out a sigh to her, caressing her gently and letting her sweet presence calm him down before following Grace closely in her work. Setting Perrine down to work, Nathaniel picked up the other bucket and trotted after Grace, following her every command with vigor and immediacy. He gazed at the horses they were to brush and stroked one on the nuzzle, gazing at it. It was homely, an unsightly little fellow, obviously old and ragged from years of work. But Nathaniel let out a sigh of content, stroking it lovingly. What kind creatures. After gazing at it for a while, Nathaniel sighed to himself. Speaking of which... He turned to Grace. "Miss Grace," he croaked, "May I give a suggestion as to where I may sleep?"

((Dis ish Aya. FLYING KICKAPOW! Btw, Bobby is very sad and... and sad.))

Grace looked at Nathaniel with a questioning look.

"A placement suggestion?"

She asked, pouring a little of the water over the horses back from her bucket and brushing the dirt out of the horses coat. She concentrated on cleaning the horse, going through the motions as if she had done this job more than a thousand times. Although she had been autopiloting on the job, she was also very interested in knowing what Nathaniel meant by that. If he meant, what she thought. "Siff isn't going to be too happy if he picks his own place to sleep..."

Bobby's Father let go of the group and stood up walking to a pillar, for low flying practice, close to the net. His mother got up as well. She let Bobby go and pat his head a little as she headed to the same pillar as her husband. Not a word was spoken. They were much quieter now that Bobby had calmed down a bit. After Siff's leaving.

"Let's practice up, don't need any more accidents."

Bobby's mother said Waiving at him to follow them.

Bobby lifted himself from his knees. He wasn't sure if he would have the strength to practice at all right now..... it all seemed to drain away from him over the last few minutes. The young teen followed.

"What... what happened?"

He spoke up, looking desperate to know more details. If they really were his parents (and they acted like they were to the point it was basically convincing the boy so far) he wanted to know everything. What had they experienced? Or do they remember that they died, or how they died? Bobby had a pretty good idea of who did the deed.... but no idea how.

Nathaniel

Nathaniel could hear the uncertainty in her voice. He looked at her quickly, now nervous at his chances for his suggestion to get through. He looked down again quickly, working diligently on the horse and trying a different approach. "I'm sorry if I'm being bold, Miss Grace," he quieted, taking a deep breath and keeping his head to his work. "I... just have..." He moved to the side, sinking behind the horse slightly. "Trouble sleeping sometimes..." He paused for a while. "I was... just thinking that if I slept with someone to look after me, I would be able to sleep... at least a little bit..." He felt his throat become more and more coarse. He trembled a bit inside, taking a deep breath. "Which is why... I was hoping to sleep in the bear tent." He finished sturdy, showing that he had thought about this thoroughly. He rose his head to look at her expression, continuing brushing the horse, though slowing for her response.

Huck smiled as he walked over to Senna.

"You say that like it's a bad thang, hon." he drawled, his gait a little slow but he got over there. He didn't seem aware that she shared the same feelings for him, but still kept that optimistic feel about him. Shoot, not even the rain Siffy seemed to have as a constant in the area didn't seem to faze him in the slightest.

Senna began walking towards the entrance of the circus. Mostly towards the entrance. There must have been something on the outer edge.

"Do you feel it too Huck? The energy that is pulling us here?"

She kept on strait towards the edge before deciding to turn into a small ally.

Grace looked at Nathaniel with confusion.

"The bear tent. Why? The bear tent is dirty, there are no beds and bears are after all... well, I shouldn't have to tell you."

She stopped cleaning the horse and looked sternly at Nathaniel. Waiting for a different suggestion maybe. Something safer. Someplace safer in this place to sleep.

"Why not stay in my tent? It's safe, and I promise to not let Siff bother you there."

Siff walked around the circus, looking for Senna and Huck. He couldn't quite figure out where they had gone. There were parts in his Carnival that started disappearing from his his sense, his ability to know of. His grasp, and control slipping and something had to be done about it. First off, these workers would have to lose their will to fight his control. Stop this rebellion before it ruins everything.

"It is safe here. Outside of the Carnival is dangerous. We wanted to leave with you, but we put ourselves in danger. We do not want you to go through the same. Our fault."

Bobbies father said. He picked Bobby up and placed him on his shoulders so that they could all reach the top of the beam.

As Bobby pulled himself onto the beam, he realized... something about his own being was off. It was like, he didn't have as much strength as he usually did..... or, 'strength' wasn't the right word. He couldn't pin it.

"Leave....? You, you wanted to leave?"

The boy gave his 'father' a startled look as he balanced easily on the thin beam. He didn't know.

Huck nodded. "Sure is a might strange-feelin' 'round heah." he said as he followed her. Keeping an eye out for someone like Siff, he kept going. "Say, where're we goin', anyways?" he asked.

He paused a bit every few steps, to check to see if they weren't followed. He had the strangest feeling that Siff would be more than willing to be on them like fleas on a dog any minute. Something that made him equally paranoid yet angered.

Nathaniel

Nathaniel continued slowly, soon coming to a stop as she did. He did not move, watching her carefully as she questioned him. Bears are, after all... dangerous. I know. Her stern gaze made Nathaniel shrink behind the horse, lowering his head slightly in shame. 'Why not stay in my tent? It's safe...' Nathaniel narrowed his eyes. It was highly doubtful. He trusted Grace, but nothing about Siff could be trusted; not even his identity. Nathaniel made it look difficult to tell her. "I'm... sorry... I can't sleep around people. I just..." Nathaniel sighed silently. "I had hoped you would understand..." He continued brushing the horse. I hoped you would understand... that only sleeping among bears would I ever feel safe in this place.

"I am not the person to say no. But if you'd like to sleep with the bears, you may. I just want you to be extra careful okay."

Grace looked towards the entrance then back to the horse continuing to brush the horses fur dry. She was worried about Nathaniel, and almost felt like he didn't trust her enough to stay with her. The safest place from Siff was with somebody who had earned his trust for all this time she thought. Siff would not bother Nathaniel if she kept him out of trouble right? She took a deep breath and wiped her forehead with the back of her hand. Then again, if Nathaniel knew what she was before the carnival, then he would never trust her for what she did.

Senna kept walking not really paying attention to anything else around her except for Huck.

"I don't know. But something curious seems to be around here so I guess I'm looking for something. And I think I know where it is."

She looked back to Huck and then raised a brow.

"You're acting like someone is following us. Is there someone back there?"

Perrine had been walking around when Nathaniel set her down, keeping her eye on them. She walked up to Nathaniel and meowed. "Bears?" She tried to meow. How frustrating it was to try and speak when anything that came out was short, meows, and moans. "I wish you could understand me... I wish I could stand at your height and hug you." Perrine started pulling on the laces of Nathaniel's shoes, chewing and pulling on them to get him to pick her up.

"Yes. But not now. This place is safest for us Bobby."

Bobby's father stated. Waiting on the platform. His wife got on the beam behind Bobby and followed as a back up.

"Keep your eyes on the beams, and don't look out."

She stated, almost as if speaking of something else. Maybe there was something more to these parents then what was there of Bobby's parents before the accident.

Nathaniel

Nathaniel's heart lifted as she accepted, nodding energetically as she asked him to be careful. Suddenly, the thought of actually sleeping next to the bears was invigorating. He brushed faster, looking like the excited child that he was. As he felt something at his feet, he looked down and giggled softly. "Ha ha, oh Perrine." He quickly knelt and scooped her in his arms, holding her in a warm embrace. "Don't be scared. They won't hurt us. Besides," he cooed, his voice smooth and melodious again as he brought her close to his mask. "I've got you."

Bobby didn't catch the hidden meaning in his mom's words, and he looked back to her.

"I know what to do on a beam, Mom."

He looked confused. Surely she would know that he could handle something like this.... as he said so, he bent down to walk on his hands steadily down the length of the beam.

Grace Continued brushing the horse, moving to it's mane. Brushing out the straw, and dirt clods that were stuck. These horses were really suffering in this forever rainy weather.

"Nathaniel. Take care of the /kitten/ and yourself. No matter what. You need to keep Perrine and yourself safe as first priority."

She set down the brush and left to go grab some of the horses average pre-show clothing that they used for training.

Perrine blinked at Nathaniel and then tilted her ears back a little. Listening to what miss grace said. Yes, Siff was dangerous. She feared when he would cause her to hurt the nearest person to her. "Am I just a weapon?" She thought. Her kitten head tilted and she blinked and then growled. "Not for that monster! NEVER, I won't do it. No matter what, he can go suck a spigot hose for all I care" She thought. Her fur slightly stood up in thought of the horrible man as she looked to the entrance of the tent. Perrine stuck her tongue out as if she was a person then climbed up closer to him, than she already was. Pushing herself under him, nuzzling up against his neck, perching on his shoulder her little butt nestled a bit in his down hood.

Bobby's mother kept behind her son. Balancing perfectly and without effort.

"Don't look out. Outside."

She glanced to the entrance of the tent then back to her son.

"Is what I mean."

"Bobby. I think we need to practice our flying acts right?"

The father interrupted starting to climb a rope up one of the pillars to a higher platform. Bobby's mother clammed up a bit, with a more sorrowful face that she would change if he looked. She felt as though something was wrong, but at the same time, couldn't muster the strength to comprehend why. Nothing she said felt like her. Something she wanted to say, but couldn't. She didn't even feel real, or belonging. Her husband would feel the same way. What were the chances that Siff would let them go back to where they were before?
PostPosted: Wed Jun 20, 2012 9:14 pm

Bobby stopped, holding a handstand in place for a moment. Outside......?

He was definitely inclined to check the entrance now that she said something about it, but his attention was turned toward his dad. He jumped from the beam and cushioned his landing with a crouch before he followed up the pillar.

Nathaniel nodded silently and somberly to Grace's instruction, suspecting she knew whatever there was to know about Siff. "Yes, Miss Grace." As he was nodding respectively, he felt Perrine claw her way up onto his shoulder and nestle herself into a perched position. He winced a bit as she got situated, her claws coming out a bit to stabilize herself and digging in his shoulder painfully. He clenched his fists, making sure the pain didn't come out as a groan or grunt. But she was finished soon enough and he was back to stroking her head and scratching her ears. He quickly finished brushing his horse and stroked it happily.
