I never believed Herr Major for one second when he called himself "human," yet the Hellsing moral seemed to support him so it felt wrong to feel that way. I'm so glad that Integra--strong, intelligent, beautiful, credible, canon Integra--said she doesn't believe him either. I feel vindicated. 3nodding

My favorite part about the ambiguity of it is that it doesn't really matter, as far as Alucard's concerned. It doesn't matter if the Major was right, or if Integra was right. In the end, he fits both the Major's and Integra's definition of human. He has his own soul, his own heart, and his own will and he has human qualities. 3nodding

Here are scans of the pages Hirano added into Volume 10: Seras vs. The Captain 1Seras vs. The Captain 2Integra vs. Major 1Integra vs. Major 2Islands, Jr. and Rob Walsh 1Islands, Jr. and Rob Walsh 2Islands, Jr. and Rob Walsh 3Pip in the Epilogue 1Pip in the Epilogue 2Final PagesIn the first two pages, which were inserted during Seras's fight with the Captain, the silver tooth that Seras uses to kill the Captain is provided by the Captain himself. In the next two pages, which were inserted after Integra's final duel with the Major, Integra reveals her thoughts on what makes a man and what makes a monster. In the next three pages, which I believe were inserted in the beginning of the final chapter, Sir Islands's grandson speaks with Sir Walsh, who is now a very highly-decorated war hero. In the next two pages, which are actually only edited, it is revealed that Integra has no qualms about letting Iscariot, or anyone else, roam the halls of the Hellsing mansion freely, because Pip has the whole place covered. In the final two pages, we are presented with a lovely spread of the Hellsing mansion, which has been fully repaired. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm quite happy with these new pages. Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that the HiranoMoe Team will be re-releasing the first chapter of Volume 10 very shortly.
