Price isn't playing well at all.
And as for the Leafs?
Considering how much they suck this season, and how blindly loyal their fans are to a team with no talent, Montreal thought they would do the nice thing and inspire a fragment of hope in Leaf fans, so that lext time they lose, they won't be as disappointed. (:
"Next year, next year we're going to win."
As a Hab fan among a valley of Leaf fans, I can guarantee that's the only thing going to be said at the end of this season (;
It usually is... 3nodding
Not this time, sister.
The JFJ induced era of total disilluionment is over. You'll still have a few idiot fans thinking we're a 38 year old forward away from contention, but most fans have resigned themselves to a new plot: the rebuild. We know we suck. And we'll suck even harder next year. And as a rebuilding team, we have no desire to make the playoffs this year. We want another sweet draft pick, so we can build upon our youth and our depth. Burkie knew we needed to blow everything up. He's the antithesis of Ottawa's idiot GM, Murray.
Schenn is just the beginning.
The Habs, however, think they're actually Stanley Cup contenders. HAH! What a joke. They've been cramming this centennial bullshit down everyone's throat, ceremony after ceremony, and they've dropped from top of the conference, to a questionable contender... for a playoff spot! What a disgrace on an organization with such a rich history. That's what you get when you have a bunch of streaky, fanciful pretty-boy Kovalevs and Kostitsyns as your forward core.
Carey Price, though, is a good goalie. He will rebound. Even though he's currently playing like garbage. Being on a team that reeks of laziness can't be good for his development, but I do hope he pulls it together, and I think he will. My prediction? Montreal indeed makes the playoffs, but they also makes an early exit.
That loss against Edmonton was back breaking. If they somehow lose to Colorado, another sub-standard team, this team will
NEED a big trade in the worst kind of way.
