he was the uncomfortable one this time, uneasy that he coudl not do as he should and keep a subserviant posture..instead he tried simply keeping his eyes somewaht lowered.

"Cymarron does not understand. are they Lich? Cymarron heard stories about a human who became lich for immortal life. heard there was a ruler to a great city that was one. Is there questions you seek of Cymarron? Cymarron asks much, would not be rude and keep secrets when asking for yours."

"They rather seems to hate Litches actually. But no, they're not those either. It's a little hard to explain. They are a bit more into the shape shifter category I suppose." She was watching him closely...and not liking what she was seeing. It had been bothering her for quite a while. He always seemed to shy away. With a smile she reached a hand out, placing her fingertips gently under his chin to turn his head and eyes to face her own. "Secrets? You're not asking for secrets. It's all common knowledge really." Questions of him? Well she had one. "Tell me, I don't mean to offend you or anything, why do you always shy away?"

he moved his head to look at her, and he purred only slightly. his eyes dulled a little with past memories, some which might be better left behind. but he was asked a question, and he would answer.

"It was how Cymarron was made to be around others of stature. Those born free, those of standing, Cymarron is not allowed to stand higher than. Cymarron is not to stare or look directly if he cannot lower his stature."

She smiled warmly at him. Funny, she remembered a time when she was like he was also. But she had long ago let those times go, now they were nothing more than an old entry in a journal. Another smile at his purr. "Around others of stature? My friend, what makes you think that anyone here stands higher on any level than you? Because no one does." For a second she scratched under his chin with her nails in an endearing motion, much like she often did to Eclipse. Her hand then pulled back and rested in her lap as she tilted her head slightly as she waited for an answer.

Laying his head softly in the grass, Nelphean listened to the wilderness. The song of sleepy dryads sank deep into the forlorn winds, zephyrs from the farthest reaches of the earch. The melody of a decaded race, no longer the prosperous fay of legend but the remnents of a forgotten breath of magic. Nelphean herd the distant calls of the treants to their elvish creaters to come resque them from the bonds of this earth, the sound of the centaur hooves running from the encroching darkness...

The wind whispered many secrets, many fates, and many legends... Nelphean sighed into the wind, hoping that his breath would last for ever in this gloomy sphere, for death seemed all but certain.

Singing softly to the breeze, Nelphean watched the sky, and the fading of everything about him...

Turik took a seat next to the fire, Llew shook of the residing droplets of water out of his fur. Turik glanced over at eclipse and smiled; nothing un-doglike there. "So, what do you call this Caer?" he asked. "My old home was Caer Dryffyn," his eyes grew cold "but that was long ago. he glanced at his newfound friend "Forgive me," he laughed, the sadness in his eyes vanished and he yawned widely. "do you have many others staying here?" he inquired, not knowing exactly what to say...he took to inspecting the cobble wall, it was a feeble attempt to avert the dogs piercing gaze, very feeble; he discovered.

"Archaic Manor." A yawned seemingly caused by Turik's own escaped the wolf's muzzle, exposing canines for a moment before his jaws snapped shut and he shook his head as if trying to wake himself. "Quite a few actually." Standing he stretched out his legs. "So your little friend Llew there, what's he to you? A pet or something more?"

"They are part of Cymarron...they are lessons. they were most...painfully...learned."

That was an understatement. How could he explain the breakers, the torture....the Keeper, the Laybrinth. the very thought of the breakers made him shiver with fear...remembering thier hammers, thier breath and apparent child-like joy at getting to 'play' with him. he'd begged for death then.

"Cymarron does not mean to be offensive in his mannerisms, Cymarron will work to fix them if they are bothering."

Turik started, then relaxed "yes, just a pet." he placed Llew back in his pocket. The fox nipped his finger ''Ouch! you little Twrch!" he bottoned his pocket and grinned at Eclipse, "This place is very interesting, i should like to see some more of it...if thats okay, of course." He looked forward to meeting some of the other inhabitants of this strange manor...

It seemed that the eagle had gone unnoticed, but i did not seem to mind, letting out one more powerful screech, it began to flew around the room, unsure of where it was going and as it flew, its blank white yes continued to look towards the door once more letting out a powerful screech as it glided upon its ten foot wingspan.

"They're not offensive. You have to excuse me if I'm prying to much. I once acted like you did. I know that those kinds of...lessons...as you put them are harsh. But once you get away, no need to keep them. Make new mistakes and learn to lessons." Leaning back on her hands she gave him a smile once more.

Eclipse looked upward to the eagle for a moment. "Come now Elias, stop that before you ram a wall or a rafter. Yes I know it's you, I use my nose not my eyes." He gave a snort upward them turned his attention back to Turik. "Well feel free to wander. Only locked doors are off limits." Unfurling a wing he pointed the tips of his feathers upwards to indicated the eagle. "That right there is Elias. But he's playing around in another form right now."

Elias let out a powerful screech once more as he shifted his body in mid flight, it was something that proved to be a very large mistake. "Oh....shis" Elias said with a half-assed smile on his face, as he landed very hard on the floor as with his luck he did so face first.

Aura stood, brushing a few pieces of grass from her dress and smoothing out wrinkles as she did. The silver flute left the grip of her hand, being shoved in and held by one of the various loops on the leather belt slung around her waist. "Well Cymarron, if you'll excuse me, I have a journal to finish catching up on. Got to get it all down before I forget." So saying Aura walked past him into the manner, heading straight to her room and disregarding anything else really.

He shook his head at Elias and disregarded his antics. Eclipse laid down once again, this time closer to the fire. Crossing his front paws with a click of gold that was around him he rested his head on his paws, the posture of his entire body visibly relaxing, eyes closing as if in sleep. In truth he was holding silent conversation with Aurahkah. They needed to train it. And then put it to use. But it was all risky as well. But then again they were both risk takers.

((Eh, gotta get up for school tomorrow. Night guys, see you all Friday.))

For his part, he movedf into the manor and turned his predator's gaze on the first aparently normal human around. he said nothing, gave a nod almost of approval from some test his eyes conducted in his mind, and back outside and off to the shaded, darker areas of the courtyard. he sat hunched down in the grass, inspecting the dirt with his claws, before nodding lightly to himself. This woudl make a good place to create a den, should he stay around after finding the one he was seeking. Then he jumped up into a tree, and form there to the roof, to explore the rooftop from any areas one could easily access from there....

Lady Bastet

PostPosted: Thu Feb 17, 2005 4:34 pm

Bastet wandered lazily through the Manor. She was full and happy from the delectable foods of the Manor chef, and the alcohol that seemed forever stocked. Her mind wandered farther than her body would take her for the moment, to far lands and the joys or sorrows that each one held. All the stories the same, just told in a different tongue.

Though many of her own sorrows were held in Egypt, quite a few less characterizing ones unfolded where ever her clawed feet tread. As she came to the courtyard she mumbled a prophecy in ancient egyptian "All sad stories from distant lands come, link together to form an unbreakable chain of blind trust, binding the strongest broken hearts together against all future pain and sorrow, to rise above those flawed and bring order." She continued mumbling as her feet brought her to the courtyard.

Slowly she climbed up a tree and concentrating, looked up into the sky. Kali had been making barriers forever, but if she had the right strength, she could probably break barriers as well. Perched in the tree at the ready, she contemplated whether she should even try and instead just continued to stare. She could train later. Sitting back against the trunk her tail hung down flicking back and forth with the tunes running through her head.
