Senna was a little happy at Bobbies reaction, until, he spoke about the sun. It then made her realize that this boy, must have missed out on such a thing. Was it possible that those rainy days she spent there was how it always was for him, always. She felt horrible for Bobby thinking that such a thing could happen, but was happy the sun decided to make an appearance for them.

Siff let the clouds build again, they had enough of that suns light to last them the rest of their physical lives. That and he was feeling a bit too bad from seeing such an unsightly yellow bright spot in the sky. He moved on, finding himself in the big top, watching Grace leave the boy to go get cleaning instruments. He walked up to the boy himself as he was busy on the beam. He bent down and picked Perrine up unwillingly. Perrine soon found herself becoming timid and obedient to the man who had ruined her life as a human.

"Good day. The Sun was out Nathaniel, a rare occurrence here, yet instead you wish to practice on our balance beams?"

He stood there holding Perrine and petting her gently on the head, her kitten like energy gone.

Grace found herself leaving to pick some things up real quick while Nathaniel tested the beams, not knowing that anyone would interrupt the boy. She hoped that as she left he would be able to take care of the kitten and himself if anything were to happen. She found what she needed, brushes, for cleaning the horses, then filled up two buckets of water from the spigot outside putting them on two ends of a staff that held the two buckets balanced across her shoulders the brushes inside each of them.

As the clouds started to engulf whatever light had been showing through, Bobby sighed and sat down atop the trailer. He watched as the clouds completely covered up the sun, and though the boy longed to see the dark puffs separate again he figured it wouldn't happen.

Nathaniel

Nathaniel hadn't expected this moment to go so wrong. Siff suddenly appeared at his left, causing Nathaniel to stiffen up and wobble to the side. His head snapped to Siff, taking a moment to compose himself in the midst of his suffocating presence, and took in the fact that the man was now holding his cat. This made Nathaniel bite the inside of his cheek in irritation. Silently, he shifted his weight to one hand, lowered, and set himself down in front of Siff. One hand still on the beam, he took a glance at his stiffened cat again before engaging Siff. "I apologize. I wasn't aware of that," he croaked, watching Siff closely and trying to find an opportunity to take his cat back. "There are many... ways here of which I'm unfamiliar." Nathaniel licked his lips nervously. "Maybe you could help me with that." He kept perfectly still, as if he were so calm that being around Siff was a breeze. Any weakness like that, Nathaniel kept under his mask.

"You are not trained to practice on the beams. How horrible I'd look if you got hurt and I let you do whatever you pleased. But... I could let you work the beam, give you a job with Bobby. He needs a partner in acrobatics, practice and train a bit to be qualified enough to be on that. Otherwise I suggest you stay to cleaning duties."

He smirked, then looked down to the stiffened obedient kitten and handed it to Nathaniel. Holding her out like a scooped up little thing. In the smallest little soft black ball of fur. He looked at Nathaniel, to his eyes. Despite not seeing through the mask, he stared to where his eyes would be, behind the holes in the mask. Almost trying to observe a way around the thing that kept him from seeing the boys face.

"And, there is not much I know about your ways... like why you wear a mask."

He simply stated raising a brow to Nathaniel, almost trying to poke at getting the info.

Senna looked down then back up to Bobby.

"Sorry, that the sun couldn't be out longer Bobby."

She personally enjoyed the sun, and although it wasn't in her power to have it show she wished she had. The boy seemed so happy to feel such warmth and light.

Huck looked up at the clouds as the sun hid away. "Damn-nabbit!" he growled. Of course, the doggone sun had to hide. He hadn't seen it since he got flim-flammed by Siffy-boy.

Sighing a little bit, he looked up at the clouds. "Dang rain . . . better fer crops if yer askin' me." he growled.

Bobby nodded, though he kept staring at the spot in the sky where the sun had disappeared. It was nice for a moment at least. He stood, tapping the metal of the trailer with his foot before he jumped for the ground and rolled into a solid landing. Off to practice, he supposed. Siff would probably get angry if they waited around any longer than they already had. Bobby looked at Senna, giving her the best smile he could muster.

"Let's practice."

Nathaniel

Get away, his gut was telling him. Get out of here, He stepped back hastily, feeling an intense threat put towards him. "How horrible I'd look if you got hurt..." Nathaniel kept still, making sure he didn't tense up or freeze. He'd appear calm. Looking down, he saw his kitten being offered to him. Cautiously and slowly, he stepped forward and set one hand on the kitten. He saw Siff get close as well, watched as Siff's eyes went to his. And they actually locked. Siff wouldn't know, but Nathaniel felt it; the strange feeling that came with eye contact. Something stirred in his gut, spreading slowly. Like numbness or a deep cold. And for some reason, Nathaniel couldn't look away. He heard his heavy breathing against his mask, felt himself shaking a bit as he reached for his cat. "N..." His throat closed. Why was Siff so terrifying? There was no reason to be afraid, was there? Nathaniel finally got a grip around his cat, pulling her from Siff and nearly stuffing her in his jacket again. He leaned back, as if trying to step away. But his legs wouldn't move. Nathaniel finally got his head to snap away, away from those horrifying eyes. They didn't look real. Alive. Human. He held Perrine close, wishing she could console him.

"So soon Bobby? Why not travel around a bit, I think Huck and I would like to know our ways around first, if there is no show tonight..."

She looked to Huck then back up to Bobby. Senna stepped back a little to give Bobby some room to jump down. She couldn't help but feel that they should at least try and have a look around, not only so that she didn't feel so claustrophobic but also her curiosity was getting the better of her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grace managed to re-enter the main part of the big top with the water and the brushes over her shoulders. she set them down quickly and jogged quickly over to catch up to Siff and Nathaniel.
"Sorry sir. I was just getting us some supplies to work."
She looked at him, a little out of breath... he looked almost accomplished. "oh no.. poor Nathaniel" she thought. He did it. He saw the boys soul and linked the contract to it. The trap that all the others had gained from meeting this unwelcoming individual.
Perrine snuggled up to Nathaniel and buried her face into his coat almost hiding and taking comfort in the boys arms. Somehow she felt just as unsafe as being in the hands of Siff... the hands of the ring master who turned her, would she feel no rest until he left the tent again. Left them alone? She wondered this as she tried calming herself down and relaxing. Her tail had poofed up, into a pine cone shape and her fur on end from the stress she felt in the man's presence.
Siff looked to the door and then back to Grace.
"Swell intentions. I would get to work before I give this boy a talk about playing. This is a place of work, not play. When there is a time that work is done, then you both may play ring around the Rosie or whatever other silly things you wish doing."
He smirked, all in all his talk was more of a, nonchalant threat... subtle and calm then trying to make a statement. It was, as cold as he was, the beginning of the boy seeing his true nature, as he saw his. Through the glimmer of his soul shining through the eye holes of the mask he could tell that this would be great. The boy must have been weak of body, in some way, suffered pains no others could, physical or otherwise for him to have such a strong spirit. Perfect, in Siff's opinion. So much he could tell, and the fact the boy hid his problems so well, maybe he would like to see the boy on balance beam one show night, let him practice falling on the net a few times for the entertainment of it. Mistakes here, would be made if Siff felt he needed a little, pick me up, between this moment and the next 100 years, why not keep the boy that long.
After Bobby jumped to the ground, he shook his head and looked in the direction of the big top. Nothing's going to make this better, is it. The boy's brow scrunched up a bit as he frowned. Siff would be angry with him if he delayed any longer. He already told him twice... three times...? To get working again.
"You can, go ahead without me. Use the big top as a guide. I need to practice."
Fear seemed to work its way back into the acrobat's thoughts, though in truth the feeling had never really left him in the first place. Without another word Bobby took off down one of the muddy lanes, leaving Huck and Senna behind.
_______________________________Hide your face so the world will never find you...
Nathaniel
Nathaniel felt the same as his cat did. But outside, he would hide it. Stroking his kitten, he tried getting her calmed down as he stepped away from Siff. He was grateful that Grace had arrived, for Siff's presence was suffocating all alone. Now that she was here, he was able to clam himself down quickly and return to hiding his feelings. And his soul, unknown to him. He pointed his head toward Grace, though was glancing at Siff through the corner of his eye every once in a while. At his words, Nathaniel looked down, as if shy again. "I'm sorry, sir. I'll be better behaved next time," he wheezed, back to his old self. The one that hid any emotions. Right now, he was hiding his suspicion again. He had just been talking about training, assuming Nathaniel was trying to train on the beam. Now he was accusing him of playing. And he completely dropped the matter about Nathaniel's mask. His focus completely switched when Grace was around. Nathaniel coolly gazed up at Siff, Perrine now completely hidden in his jacket and being stroked comfortingly with his thumb. It's okay, girl. I've got you. He took another step away from Siff, facing fully towards Grace. "Miss Grace, are we ready to start working now?"
Grace bowed a little to Siff acknowledging her "Inferiority" then turned to Nathaniel.
"Let's get to work shall we. Gotta get some stuff done before the next show time."
There was no time to delay getting the work done now. Siff was about ready to "kick" Nathanial and she didn't want that. Although she noticed a change in Siff's attitude. He seemed a little bit more demanding of Nathanial. Maybe Nathanial had finally agreed to something or has become part of the contract where he wasn't before. Either way, work had to be done. Grace picked up one of the water buckets with a brush in it, the next thing on the list was... all the other animals of the circus. Cleaning more animal tents, cleaning animals and prepping the horses for show. They were slightly old looking horses. Far past their youth obviously but in a good enough shape to where they could take riders and run in the show still. Very highly trained creatures. They were in the Arena right now, seeing as it was the biggest area of the place to run in at the time.
Siff smiled and then gestured a "farewell" with his hand turning and exiting out of the front of the tent. Not all of the time was he the kind of guy to disappear into the darkness. Especially in front of such an obedient new comer. Although, what he really needed to take care of was the two love birds, Senna and Huck. Both very on his nerves and not following ANY of the rules he's set in place. One of the reasons he usually did off with the people of the new world quickly is because of their changes of morals in the last 100 years along with the fact they are bad influences on the workers he's had for so many years. What he would have to do to Senna or Huck if they influenced Bobby or Seth into such manners as to disobey the ringmaster.
Senna raised an eyebrow to Bobby. Watching him run away not able to stop and ask him to stay a while longer. It was true, that the kid did need to do more than just work, work, and more work. Too bad there seemed to be nothing she could say that would change his mind. She sighed and looked over to Huck.
"Looks like it is only the /two/ of us walking around"
She sighed again. Sure she liked Huck but she didn't want to be alone with him. It would feel like too much of a date.
Bobby finally slowed after he was far out of sight. He took a weary glance behind him, almost tripping into a particularly wet muddy spot in the process. The boy sighed sharply and entered one of the tents near the big top that held plenty of training instruments. Beams, bars, ropes, pommels, rings... it was a pretty big tent. Bobby took a running start for one of the vaults, using the springboard in front of it to hurdle over and land firmly on the other side.
PostPosted: Sat Jun 16, 2012 10:10 pm
Mr. Siff left the big top, on his way to confront Huck and the Scarlet Angel. But on the way, it happened that one of his favorite little toys happened to be alone. Perfect to talk to for this moment. He walked into the large practicing tent of the young acrobat and waited, watching the show.
"Bobby."
He stated coldly at a normal tone. If the boy were truly afraid of him his voice no matter how loud or strong would capture his attention.
The boy turned immediately as his name was spoken.
"Sir.."
He murmured, not daring to take his eyes from the ringmaster. Was he in trouble? Bobby inwardly panicked at the mere thought.
Siff walked closer to Bobby, keeping his eyes on Bobby's. Staring with the cold look that he's had since before, even Bobby was born of the Fayland Family of fliers.
"Bobby, I need you to give me your solemn word. A promise that you have to keep..."
The young acrobat only kept frozen to his spot with his eyes glued to Mr. Siff's. He didn't speak, or respond, he just stared.
Siff raised a brow to the boy and then walked up to him taking a glove off of one of his hands and then holding it out to Bobby for a hand shake. A /small/ contract. He automatically assumed that Bobby would take his hand, ready to hear the deal.
This sent up all kinds of warning signs, and in his fear-driven state Bobby stepped backwards and hid both hands behind his back.
"W-what is it."
He instantly realized the ringmaster would be very unhappy with the response given. Bobby never spoke back like this...... what was going on?
"Take my hand. Look, I need your word, that you will NOT see the other worlders. Their thoughts are twisted, their ways are wrong. I do not want you to fall into their Hell. Please, as your ring master I want to show you a better way to make due, Bobby."
He kept his hand out for Bobby's. Sure either way they would all end up with the same fate. A collection of souls, destined to be trapped forever regardless of whether it was in a mortal body or that of a demon.
After a brief pause, Bobby only took another step back. He didn't accept this... he wouldn't accept this, and the more he prolonged the more angry he expected Siff to become.
"What's wrong with them?"
"They fill your head, with lies. Of a better place. This is the only place, for you, for me. They trick you into being deceitful, rebellious, questioning. You know full well how that turns out in this place. Aye Bobby?"
His hand still held out. If the kid hadn't returned the shake, if he had to lower this contract, when he was so sure, and so prepared for it, it would not bode well for the ones this acrobat cared about.
Lies...? Deceit...? Bobby shook his head vigorously and backed up further, though eye contact remained. No!
Siff dropped his hand, he closed his eyes, one lid twitched only a small moment before he opened his emerald eyes back up. Glaring at Bobby.
"How I wish I could continue to play Mr. Nice guy. But okay, you give me no choice but to start finding more creative ways. This cat and mouse game is getting a little old, something needs to change."
He sighed and began to pull up his sleeves as if ready to turn and catch the young acrobat.
From this action Bobby staggered away, reacting on his panic and sprinting for the side of the tent to duck under the cloth, if he could get that far.
Siff, his powers he had invested and kept since the beginning of his ownership of the carnival would finally put to real use. He flashed, in a shadow, stepping behind Bobby, reaching his arms around the boy, picking him up as if he'd just caught a stray dog.
"Do you wish to be in trouble Robert Fayland?"
He chuckled holding the boy off the ground. Siff took the boys hand in a firm, almost crushing grip letting go and turning him to the ground.
"Swear you will never help, speak or pursue these outsiders. If you swear, I will allow you to have your parents back."
He grinned, a clever trick. A sure to win, piece used by demons at all times since the original fall of the Angels thousands of years before hand.
Bobby squirmed when he was in the ringmaster's hold, but once he was 'let go', for exchange his hand practically crushed in Siff's grip, he cringed under the pressure. The boy yelped as he tried to pull his hand away, realizing very quickly that he wouldn't be able to avoid this 'contract'. And, his parents.... Siff presented this 'option' to him before, but something wasn't right about it.
"P-please... don't..."
His speech pattern was jumping all over the place.
"Don't d..do this..."
"Do you fear your parents? Do you not want their embrace, their love again? I would give them to you, in exchange that you do not speak to Senna and Huck. Imagine, performing with them again, sharing dinners, sleeping in the same tent, hearing their voices, calling your name again."
He calmed down his voice, lessened his grip, just a bit. Enough to help calm the boy so he would listen. He spoke, almost, advertising, getting the boy to make a decision out of pure instinct and desire for such humanly affection again.
Bobby broke eye contact and bowed his head. He fell to his knees, his free hand digging into the pounded-down dirt; he sobbed heavily, receiving painfully vivid images of his dead parents....... and all he could manage was a hoarse broken whisper.
".........Okay...... okay........"
He smiled and, after a firm but small shake let go of Bobby's hand, a small glowing spot, a part of Bobby was given to Siff. He raised his hand and stepped to the side. Behind him came Bobby's parents, exactly as he would have remembered them just before the accident.
"Faylands, you have another chance to have your son back. Enjoy, Bobby, enjoy."
He took his leave, stopping at the door looking back.
"Keep your son from Huck and Senna for me please. Bobby, never, ever go back on this, and a word of this shall not be spoken."
With that he slipped from the tent, leaving behind the reunited Fayland family.
Bobby's mother ran up to her son as Siff left the tent, moving to the floor with him. Pulling Bobby to her in a warming embrace. Placing her chin over his head, holding him close his father following in this action.
Bobby's whole body was shaking, and he couldn't control his sobs. As he was pulled into an embrace, the boy trembled and slowly turned his wide eyes upward to the two faces.
"M.....mom.........?"
This couldn't be happening.
"Bobby, it's okay, we're so sorry about the accident. We asked for one more chance... now we have it and won't let you suffer any longer."
His mother said softly and comfortingly. As of now, it would appear that she was really his mother. Her caring, everything she would have done if she really had been brought back.
Bobby stared at her a bit longer, before burying his face into her shoulder. It didn't make sense. He almost didn't want to know what was going on...
_______________________________Hide your face so the world will never find you...
Nathaniel
Quietly, Nathaniel waited for Siff to leave before staring intently after him. It was impossible to tell what Nathaniel's face was showing. But it could be seen at his sides that his muscles were tensing: he was gritting his teeth. Other than that, it was hidden. He waited for himself to calm down before he spoke or made any obvious moves; towards Grace anyway. He felt free to knead Perrine quickly and bring her close to his chest. His heart was pumping quickly. He let out a sigh to her, caressing her gently and letting her sweet presence calm him down before following Grace closely in her work. Setting Perrine down to work, Nathaniel picked up the other bucket and trotted after Grace, following her every command with vigor and immediacy. He gazed at the horses they were to brush and stroked one on the nuzzle, gazing at it. It was homely, an unsightly little fellow, obviously old and ragged from years of work. But Nathaniel let out a sigh of content, stroking it lovingly. What kind creatures. After gazing at it for a while, Nathaniel sighed to himself. Speaking of which... He turned to Grace. "Miss Grace," he croaked, "May I give a suggestion as to where I may sleep?"
((Dis ish Aya. FLYING KICKAPOW! Btw, Bobby is very sad and... and sad.))
