Well, I think AM has at least one reason for worry. You are technically a magical monster- probably close to the golem branch. You're probably mostly harmless like the catgirls and such though- I don't recall ever having heard of couches having super-human powers.
...or maybe you classify as an inverse-demon-possesion. It would be like how a vampire takes over the human body but instead the human body took over your couch-um, couch-soul.
My only suspicion arises from the fact that, as a couch, you didn't carry out any metabolic reactions or really any chemical reactions at all and as such it shouldn't have been possible for you to have allergies to couch-b-gone.
...maybe evil warlocks are trying to overcrowd the MSU with not-so-inanimate furniture to reduce our morale or something obscrube like that.

she's a magically affected object, not unlike a gollum. THe nearest thing I can figure would be if you were to make animate and rational something, like say a couch, and THEN you were to transmute said couch into a huminoid form. Something like that. In any event she herself ins't actually a monster, as much as she's been created by one.
on the flip side of that, she isn't human either, by virtue of her actually being a couch she isn't, under shadow government definitions of living, alive. By virtue of that she really doesn't have any rights at all. But by the same token, she isn't a particularly high priority at any level because she was created through apparently an accidental reaction to a chemical agent, and apparently is intelligent, but harbors (near as we can tell) no agressive intentions toward anything/one so she's totally find to do as she likes. Provided she doesn't advertise beyond certain confines that she is in fact, a couch.

B: So are you saying the golems and the like aren't monsters or just that the couch isn't a monster?
If the former is there any point where their general life force develops enough for them to be considderred alive or a variation thee of- or do they only get that if they started out as a pile of flesh?
If it's the latter I really don't think that just because she was a peice of furniture instead of a pile of rocks she should get a different classification.
C: I think perhaps that you should have kept quiet about her lack of rights- it was going to be hard enough to get people to stop using her as a sitting apparatus but now they can completely subjugate her as well? Man, let Phil look over your statements or something from now on.
...on second thought that's not such a great idea either sweatdrop

Sho-- I was speaking more in generalities than litterally what made her, what i meant by that was that couch can't be blamed specifically for what she is now, because she was created. Now if she were born what she is, then we could totally hold it against her. and magical constructs aren't monsters in the cognative sense, but they're something of a sub-class of monster. A sort of psuedo monster.
