Jon-OH ... time out.... couch be gone? *sits on couch* this isn't as comfortable as I remember it being... nor can I hide under her, or check her for change.... *blinks and looks up at Jon* Umm... there is a new couch! ^_^ And yes! Couch be gone. Earth Elemental Master sprayed me with it while he was chasing Flame Maniac under me a while back and made me disappear. ^_^;; *** Phil -- ._. Shokushu Well ya Jon- You guys still kill them but you didn't single mindedly hunt them all into extinction because, hey, you guys deserved a break. Most of you spent millenia putting those bastards to the sword/other pointy object and they were ready to give up anyway. breaks don't really enter into it. We'd STILL be hunting them to extinction except that we're now under legal mandate to NOT. See we used to be like a force of nature, killing as we pleased, with grand and glorious duels to the death... anymore we're a lot more like cops. We get dispatched places to enforce the law, and occationally settle disputes, and maintain public policy in reguards to the monster-related populations. It pays marginally better.

Jon: Oh, I see... but who went and made those legal-things? Somebody somewhere who wasn't a monster must have seen some reason to not hunt them to extinction. Did you guys regularly to level cities and then sink them into swamps* durring the course of a monster hunt of something?
*Since until recently you flattened cities with you personal firearms I think a large scale hunt would be somewhat more destructive.
Phil: I think you need to wait until the third 'date' to start doing wierd things but that depends on what you mena by wierd.

It's one of those things where they were all like "Hey, perhaps we should not kill off living things in our care for no reason." they're totally sissies. OH yeah... and also that... property... distruction... thing. although the biggest reason for the non-killing at random is actually because of the whole cover-up thing. Because monsters "don't exist" there obviously can't be giant hunts for them... or even little hunts.
