Kellindel DragonMan Ren ... Wow. What happened to your obsession with DnD elves? Now you're portraying them as gods. What the ******** happened to pretty humans with pointy ears that live in the woods for 3-7 hundred years?? eek 1.) Nothing happened to my obsession. 2.) I'm not potraying them as gods. Magic does wonders for... Just about everything. So, you were referring to a lich, then? Kellindel 3.) They aren't pretty humans. Elves have much lighter builds, keener senses, a closer affinity with magic, only need about half the sleep humans do, and live much longer among other things. Yeah. Pretty humans. 3nodding Kellindel 4.) You're thinking wood and wild elves. The other varieties of elves live in either large elven settlements or on the isle of Evermeet. And they're very careful to shape and control nature there, so they've got at least a little still there with them. Even city-bound elves are natural born tree-huggers.

Pretty humans. 3nodding Well at least you aren't denying your preference for "animated elves." xd DragonMan Ren And they're very careful to shape and control nature there, so they've got at least a little still there with them. Even city-bound elves are natural born tree-huggers. They still live in massive cities. The fact that there is wildlife on the island doesn't automatically mean they live in it. Tree-huggers? You could say that, but at least they aren't draining the planet of it's natural resources at an alarming rate.

That's why there are lichs - because not every wizard out there is level 18 with over 19 Intelligence and can Wish themselves another century of youth and natural life. And yes, I'm... Quite familiar with the effects of divine influence on longevity, but saying "Elves can do this" is silly. It's an exception to the natural order. Becoming a lich is simply a quick way to boost your powers and gain eternal unlife. Just because all wizards can't extend their lives doesn't mean all of them can't. Regardless, there are other spells that can do this, not everything has to be in the rulebooks anyway. DragonMan Ren Why would I deny that? The idea loses face to that fact that all races began that way. Interestingly enough, however. The beginning of the elven race is undocumented because they originally teleported from another plane of existence that was being destroyed... At least in Forgotten Realms.

But I've read descriptions of the elven cities of two major DnD settings. Nature is incorporated and sculpted, because even though they're city-dwellers, they still can't get enough of that s**t.
And inventing quick-and-dirty methods to extend life is a cheap way to do things. It destroys certain role-playing concepts. A powerful wizard has three options: race time to obtain the ULTIMATE power to extend life before it's too late, let nature take its course, or... Not, and become a lich. That's a staple of stories involving wizards. The ones without the blessing of the divine, anyway.

Actually the capital of Evermeet is constructed entirely of valuable rocks that have been pulled from the earth via use of powerful magic. The entire island was actually created through one gigantic ceremony casting of elven high magic.

Personally, I find that if you find the sum total of the literary worth of every Forgotten Realms book ever written, you could perhaps buy one fresh, warm horse turd with it. But that's just my opinion. 3nodding

Celisasu Good evening everyone! I think I made one quote worthy comment. Moriq used it for awhile in her alternate account I believe. When I was commenting on The Oregon Trail. xd Something like "I was so sad when I couldn't kill my family for food" or something similar. "I was so sad when I couldn't kill my family to converse food. sad " And Enon is an awesome band that you should all listen too. 3nodding
