"The sound is very nice, and now only I can talk.. I see a downside to my plan." Nelphean allowed his hair to cover his face, "Nailah and I played a tune last night, but I think we are supose to keep that a secret from her jealous lier."
"Do you think the gem I gave Bastet was ill-gotten, or ill-concieved, or just an ugly piece of jewelry from an archaic soul who lived in an other age?"

Her melody melted out just as easily as it had come in and the instrument lowered from her lips the slightest bit. "No flaw in your plan. I've been playing far too long to not know how to talk and play at the same time...all about entrance and exit." A nod to her own statement. "Hm, stolen or tacky...if it is stolen, "she shrugged, "everything is at one point. But personally I think it's beautiful." She then softly laughed. "Alexander...and I didn't know that Niah could play an instrument." Just as easily as she had left the melody they had, she rejoined it, eyes closing as they often did when she played.

"You temp me to say the most vile things, Miss Aurahkah." Nelphean smiled, and then laughed.
"You don't like it, do you?"

Again she left the tune to him and raised an eyebrow while giving him a smile. "Vile things...really now." And she feigned innocence. "Didn't know I drew such things from you." She then gave him a laugh. "Don't like it? My friend...if I've said it before, I'll say it again. I'm Egyptian. If it sparkles, I love it." A soft shrug.
Eclipse laughed as well, eyes dancing between the two of them as his ears took delight in drowning themselves in the melodies. "Believe me Quicksilver, you know how to pick your presents."

"I was worried that it was too old fashion." Nelphean stoped playing the lyre for a moment, "Make sure she doesn't take it off." Then he continued.

"You can't get more old fashioned than us ourselves." A knowing smile. "Care to tell me why she isn't to remove it?" Then back to weaving her own music with his. It was an intriguing story she was sure. Though she felt that she would spare Nelphean of any teasing, the way the conversation was going. Teasing was reserved for Bastet.

"An imp will try to steal it if she puts it down." He said calmly, and winked, "It has special properties." Nelphean smiled, "Aurahkah... I want to tell you something, something I have kept secret for some time now." He gazed at ther eyes, and slowly said...
He looked back and forth for a moment, and leaned towards Aurahkah. "Aurora has a hugh infactuation with Eclipse, but she doesn't want me to tell anyone."

"Imps...didn't know about that. Well I'll make sure that she keeps it on. I figured there was something behind it, gems of that size usually do." She listened to his 'secret' then tried not to betray the truth through her eyes. There was a hitch if Aurora expected Eclipse to return her feelings. Aura glanced a look at her own shadow wolf, who was busy preening his feathers again.

"Aurahkah, I have some very bad news, and I think you are the only one who can keep it a secret. There are four fiends coming after me. Four, which is three more than we all can handle combined. Including the evidently powerful watcher. I have a plan that should save us, but it involves my death." Nelphean looked at Eclispe,
"Yeah, she knows he's denser than a brick, but she wont give up her romantic dreams. That is all she got from me... She has your subborness, and his... well... body."
"Back to what I was saying, my death is pretty much garenteed. But if Bastet can keep that jewel on her, I might be able to avoid certain damnation." Nelphean wasn't too keen on this, imparting this plan would have been suicide on the other two Egyptians. "I need you to watch her back, and keep an eye out for anything that is overly suspicious."
"And make sure that my little angel doesn't act so childishly towards Eclipse, She is growing up rather quickly, being intellegent enough to realise her earlier errors, but she still needs a parental figure when all she has is siblings. Can you be the mother of our daughter while I am 'gone'?" Nelphean leaned back, hoping that this wouldn't happen, but Aurora must be watched while he is dead, and her 'mother' was the best person to do it.
"Yes, I am afraid you are Aurora's mother, why do you think she picked that name. I recieved the spell from you that created her, which implies, in theory, that you are her mother... And Eclipse her brother, but lets not get into that... she is disturbed by the emotions as it is, its like the love for Eclispe was part of her creation. She knew two things when she was born. I am her father, and she is 'inlove' with Eclipse."
"I hope this clearifies some of her behaviour, and her obsesion... As a father of four, I hope you can understand why I need you too care for my youngest... Well, keep an eye out for Taria too, she is only two months old, and I think that is far to young to be running about slitting throats, but anyways, yes, I am trying to impart on you the position of matriarch to my disjointed family. You, because you seem the most able, and I will need Bastet's help to get alive again. I hope to not be dead for long, but who knows, my plan might completely backfire, and I might survive the entire ordeal without a scratch in which case you can forget everything that I am asking you."
"Not being worried about my daughters will help me survive, not having to fear that they will be without guidence from someone..."
"I am worried that my little shadow will grow up to be like my eldest, Ke'Nel... I need someone with your strength to keep her from that end."
"That, and it will be good expeirence for when... something in the future requires you to be a mother." Nelphean brushed his hair with his hand, and laughed...
"Oh, and Claw and Talon are capable hands, don't worry about them... Oh wait you never meet those two. They were once stone statues on the front yard, but they looked like capable warriors, so I obtained some ancient text and turned them into living beings... or gargoyles of sorts.. though, more fleshy and less stone-like..."
"And General Tallfellow is standing by the front gate, if you ever find that you need an army fast, just call out to him..."
"And to control Monolith, just ask Taria if the need ever arises."
"And... don't go in my room... It isn't very friendly to... not me."

So something was after the elf as well. But more than all of them, could handle? Even the Watchers? And she already wasn't liking the sound of his plan, namely because it had the words "my death" in it. And that was the reason Bastet had to keep the pendant on...apparently it meant more than she had first thought. Burdens. And then...he was entrusting everything to her. Bastet. Aurora. Aurora's mother...she had always thought it odd that the name of Nelphean's own dark wolf was oddly close to her own. Made sense now. And then Taria, who Aura barely knew herself, yet was being trusted with to watch. And what was that now? Something in the future that requires her to be a mother? Ooh boy Nelphean was sure enough a future planner. Even his own creations he was leaving to her. Aura merely sat down her flute in hr lap, eyes dropping to the floor for a moment as she thought. Then eyes of a mix of chocolate and azure looked back up to the elf. "Your plan to save yourself is to kill yourself...and then have me watch over your place. What of Bastet though..."

"Bastet will have a very special place in my plan. I was hoping you could piece that together, but I will try once more to hint, and allow you the pleause of unfolding my elaborite scheme." I wish I was a lier... Then this would be easier. "Bastet must keep the pendent on, at all costs!... Its a pretty pendent, and I would hate to see her lose something so special, that in my culture, would have been seen to unite our souls."
"And, yes, I trust you very much, you are one of the most enduring people I know, and I think your task will not be as imposible as you might at first think. You would be getting a wolf who is maddly in love with yours, which means you can make her walk on water by just promising to say something nice about her to Eclispe. My other daughter, is a teen-ager... How hard could one of those be to raise?" Nelphean said that last part in more of a mocking tone, being as he was considered a teen until he turned 110, or still is by some elfish standereds... BUt those elves live in such stable conditions...
"I need your help, please. I will be eternally grateful if you would do these tasks for me." Nelphean moved up and infront of Aurahkah, and his eyes seemed to grow very large, and round, with a very gentle, yet sad, luster that digs into the heart.

Bastet walked out of her room where she had taken some of the books from the library. Sometimes she preferred to study uninterrupted... but she was getting next to nothing done. She needed help from another magic user, and the quiet was getting to her. She had no idea how hard it was for people when she said "control your powers." Thinking very hard, the cat woman wandered down the hallway at a slow pace.

"I got the part about her in your plan. I meant her feelings. You're really going to take yourself away from her without telling her this plan?" It seemed...wrong on some level. She shook her head as if trying to shake that statement off then looked to the elf again. Taking a breath she ran it all through her head again and then nodded gently to him, her eyes glazing over azure from the shadow he cast at being so close. But those eyes still held their serious promising tone. "I'll do it Nelphean. I'll watch out for Bastet, and Aurora, and Taria...and anything else you need me to."

He hugged her tightly, and kissed her brow. "Thank you..."
He collected himself, and let go. "No, I am not goign to hide my plan from Bastet, she can know as much as you do. I think that you still haven't figured out where she fits it, but I will leave it at that." Nelphean walked back to the lyre, and picked it up. "Play a happy song, I would like to give that try."

"You're welcome." Eyes shifted color again as she looked over to the fire, and Eclipse. Asleep already, lazy creature. Turning her gaze back to Nelphean she rose a hand to brush a few strands of hair from her eyes then raised her flute back to her lips. Happy. Ah, she had it. The melody started off slowly, then picked up in its pace the slightest bit. It was slow yet had uplifting tones to it. It's meaning...well the notes themselves gave that decision to their audience. Yet Aura herself couldn't recall where she had picked up the particular song, only that she knew it, and she used to play it all the time when she needed to hear something joyful.
