Kali looked rather surprised. "For once Coban, your worries may actually be right."
Of course they were this time. Something like that would happen considering it was him. Some type of cosmic joke of karma or something. Life, an death liked to give him an odd deck of cards to play with. A moment was spent in reflection and calculating before he spoke. "The something did happen. I knew I felt something. So you're saying you don't know magic...yet you exhibit signs of doing it." Might as well take the blunt business route. "I fear that when I resurrected you...there may have been a...how to put this...a side effect my my being dead also."
Tilting her head in recognizable fashion she raised a hand. "A barrier like this Bastet? Throw a rock at me and you'll see what I mean."

Nailah heard a rumble in the distance and looked up at the sky. Her eyes widened as she surveyed the sky. It was an angry black and clouds had gathered on the horizon. "Dammit!" Niah cursed angrily. The storm was coming in fast and she was too far out in the woods. She was gong to have to make a run for it. And she really didn't think it was likely that she was going to make it without getting soaked. She looked around the clearing to see if there was anyplace that might serve as a suitable shelter. Nothing. Cursing again she yanked her arrows out of the tree and shoved them in her quiver. Then she looped the bow back over her shoulder and picked her way back to the path.

With a questioning look on her face, she picked up a rock and threw it to Kali expecting it to go through her, but instead it bounced off and back at her. She threw up her hands and stepped out of the way. The rock bounced off of that barrier and flew in a separate direction. "Uh yea..."
Turning to Coban, she crossed her arms. "A side effect, like now I can certain magic? Well that is cool, so what is the problem? What worries you?" She put out her hand finding that her barrier was gone. After playing with it a moment she sounded concern. "What exactly did you feel?"

The thunder rumbled again this time even closer. She found the path and began to hurry down it towards the manor. The sky chose that moment to let loose with a torrent of rain and the wind whipped it right into her face. She felt the cold drops stinging her face adn lifted her face to the sky. The wind whipped her hair and angry lightning flashed. A loud boom followed it and Niah cringed. She wasn't afraid of storms but she vastly preferred to be inside when one like this was going on. Her dress was completely soaked in a matter of minutes and her hair was plastered to her face. She sighed again and started to run. She burst through the woods a few moments later and saw the manor up ahead, looking rather ominous against the black sky. The lightning lit the scene adn for a moment it reminded her of some of the books she had read over the centuries. She could almost see why the town was afraid to come up this way.

"Well...you lack the ability to heal automatically...perhaps you lack other things instilled in your when you were transformed. And when I resurrected you I used my magic...since I'm dead, my magic is essentially me, and I felt a 'slip' if you will. So in essence my soul touched yours, bringing yours back. But as common knowledge states, souls merge quite easily and separate just as so. Now I can't gain anything do to that dead fact but you...well let's say I know how to levitate things and make defensive barriers."
Eclipse perked his ears back at the sound of the thunder in it's general direction. "Storm."
Aura just smiled at it. "Excellent. You know, where we were while we were gone, there were no stroms..."

Niah ran up and slipped into the gates. The rain was coming down faster and faster and she really wanted to get inside. The rain had turned parts of the grounds muddy and she slipped and slid. She was almost to the door when she lost her footing and fell. "By the Gods...why me?" She hurried to stand but slipped again and could not seem to regain her footing. Finally after a couple tries she managed to get her feet to stay put while she lifted herself off the ground. She sighed and walked slowly to avoid slipping up the steps of the manor. When she was right at the door she looked at her dress. It was hopeless. The fabric was torn in several places from her quick flight through the woods. And mud was everywhere. She wondered if she could get in without Aura catching her. Ra knew she'd kill her when she saw the mud on her floors. She'd have to make a dash for her room and clean up, then hurry up and get the floors cleaned before she found out. Niah bit her lip and opened the heavy doors, the sound of the rain deafening. She slipped inside and hurried down the hall trying not to make a sound. Slip! Slap! Her shoes made noise on the stone floor. She cursed and slipped one slipper off then hopped on one foot trying to get the other one off. Her hair fell in her face and she threw her head back to get it out. This was not going well at all.

Bastet nodded as if that was a fairly reasonably explanation. Then as she ran it all through her head more thoroughly, she stood and began to pace slightly disturbed. "But, but what if I am no longer eternal?" She had a horrified look of realization. "Damn it!" Slamming her fist against her other hand, she was seriously not happy. She lost her rationality for this moment, because she was so used to things being a certain way and now they were all different. She could die before, but now simple time could kill her.

Aura leaned back from the counter at all the ruckus and smiled as she caught a glimpse of Niah. "Clean up after yourself, I already cleaned up your library mess, I'm not cleaning up your weather mess too!" She called from the kitchen, chuckling at the site of the girl before leaning on the counter again.
"You're eternal like Ary? But yours...is part of you, not an enchantment through an item like hers." He thought for a moment, he never knew Bastet was an eternal as well. "Well if you wish to be eternal again, if you are in fact no longer...you could always re-instill the property into yourself. Calm down, no need to panic yet."

She plopped on the ground with her legs crossed, and wrapped her tail around herself. "Well, it is just almost impossible to fathom... 5000 years on the earth and you begin to see yourself as being here to the end of it." She remembered that Egyptian magic enchanted Aurahkah, as a different Egyptian spell had enchanted her, and she took some comfort in that. "I guess I will have to research on my own, unless I tell Aurahkah I died without telling her how..." She shook her head slowly and sighed at a look she got from Coban. "But I can try on my own first. And I said I did not like keeping secrets from her, but quit being so paranoid. You have no right to give me a look when I keep things from a friend." She gave him one of her own.

"Hm, five thousand. Ary mentioned you were around her age. And I know I don't...and I mean no offense. I guess I'm just a little over protective of her. Though the secrets against her are seemingly stacking up, much to my displeasure." Letting that drop he turned to another subject. "Your new powers, you'll need to train them. Don't slack on that. Things like that can cost you your life."

She nodded, looking at the ground again. "Yes, I know, now I have to train as I am always lecturing others to do..." She punched the ground, making sure she was not punching a grave. "This is just a lot of change at once." Standing, she brushed herself off and headed towards the exit, before she left she turned back to the parental like spirits. "I guess it is back to the library, but thank you. I might be coming back to you for more advice soon." She smiled and winked indicating that she would be bugging them more, then she left the graveyard and walked out, heading very quickly to the library.

"Well I think it's wonderful that she's growing like this. And that she'll be dropping by more."
"Of course you are dear. You're a people person."
"And you're all business."
He shook his head. "Yes, I am. But that's why I have you to balance me out." Coban shrugged. "Where is everyone else by the way?"
She just shrugged. "Scary to say that I don't know...."

Niah glared in the general direction of the kitchen and said "No one asked you to clean it up. I was gonna do it..." She stopped hopping and pulled off her other slipper, then made her way down the hall. She really hoped she wouldn't run into anybody. She probably looked like hell. She slipped in her room quickly adn pulled off her soggy dress then dried herself off with a towel. She walked into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. She suppressed a violent scream at the horror that looked back and set about attacking her wayward hair with a towel and a brush. Then she washed her face and fixed her appearance. "Damn you Ra..."

Shin streched, panting, a tall man with short brown hair circling her, bo staff in hand. With out warning, he bolted forwards, swinging the staff down towards her head hard.
The girl ducked, sliding to the side, bringing her own staff up under him, hitting him in the chest with one end, and following through with a hit to the face with the middle of the quaterstaff.
The man hit the ground hard, the staff clattering to the ground.
"I win. Again."

Aura looked to the wolf next to her on the counter and then mock glared. "You're not supposed to be on my counters."
"Well I'm bigger than you...so there. I get to sit on the counters."
She smiled and shook her head, no sense in fighting with the creature. BEsides, she had bigger things on her mind. Like a few unasnwered questions in the back of her mind about three missing days, and also a few about a certain elf and mock goddess.
