"None of us have any clue"Shi corrected Mickey in her dead monotone

"Don't call me hun," Izumi said. "And like Shi said, none of us know."

"Then do any of us know why we're here?!" Claw suddenly outraged. He had hoped that Izumi knew, he'd pratically depending on Izumi knowing, but now surely all hope was lost! "I could be at home now, doing... stuff... but instead I was stupid enough to be dragged here!"

"Eep!" Mickey jumped, seeing the animal. "What the hell is that?!"

"We're here because... well, because we went through portals," said Izumi with a shrug.

The odd animal looked at Mickey, noticing that she alone had taken any notice in it. It didn't seem very dangerous but it did bend down quite low to the ground so the its pure white feathers shone in the light. A cat-like sputtering noise came from the animal as though to say 'don't come near.' "Kuro PI! PI PI PI!" it shrieked once more.
(Note: Kuro is said in a toad tone and is very low and Pi is high pitched like a bird xD)

Meikin seemed to have gotten quite a bit off from the group and had managed to wander from the lake's view. The large flat cliff face had led her in front of a cave mouth, where she sat on a large rock with her head resting on a knee. "How immature..." she mumbled to herself, speaking of herself. She was fed up with herself but she was also fed up with this stupid world.

"School lunch." Claw laughed at Mickey's response to the beast. "Haha, Mick, you should have seen your face! You look so scared, like it was going to eat you, or li-"
But whatever Claw was going to say was cut off, as a loud screach pierced the sky. Soaring in on four membrane-like wings, another of this world's strange animals hurtled itself at the other one. "Aiiie! AIIIIEEEE!" it screached again. It was mostly head, a narrow, long one that resembed a fish, and it led into a thinner, dangling body. It had stubby, thin fingers for feet, but the long nails that grew off of them were at least a foot long. From it's puckered lips bore short but sharp teeth, and it hurlted itelf at the other animal. This new creature's green, cat-like eyes glowed in excitement that could only be felt by the hunt when it finally hit the other creature; sending it into the water with it.
Claw blinked, and took a step back.

"Ah!' Mickey squealed and jumped again, backing into Claw and Izumi.

"AIIIEEE!" It called again, aiming to the surface of the water to snatch the beast up. But as the flying, fish like being was inches away from it's prize, a slick tail that was at least as thick as the animal's wing-span swatted it out of the sky and into the depths of the nw grim-looking water. There was some evidense of a struggle, a few bubbles surfacing, but the flying animal didn't. The same tail claimed the other carcess, dragging it under the surface as well.
