Feeling the power flowing with Eclipse as the conduit, he broke into an off smile. "Thank you, but I really can handle this myself now. You are kind, something I still envy." With the new strength he reached down to unfasten the collar. "I meant weak in other ways..." Collar removed, he held it up and examined it, while continuing. "I just keep repeating my mistakes... Asking questions when I already know the answer, but just don't like it."

Eclipse laughed. The world was made of mistakes, he in himself was a mistake, he was never meant to turn out this way. And what did he mean his envied him for his kindness? Saradin wasn't evil or anything of the sort. And how Eclipse came about being so kind, well that wasn't a fun story either. Even Eclipse had made mistakes. He had almost killed or gotten Aurahkah killed numerous times, attacked Saradin, repeated mistakes he knew he shouldn't because he knew the end results. He nudged the collar with his nose, making the darkness in the orb swirl the tiniest bit faster. Eclipse gave Saradin a series of quiet barks, accompanied by a wagging tail and half laid back ears. An encouraging set of gestures within themselves. 'Always a light at the end of the tunnel, or behind a shadow.' The wolf's namesake in itself spoke that meaning that echoed only through his own mind as he said it.

Clutching the collar in one hand as his body filled with what he needed and hated, allieving his addiction, Saradin focused on Eclipse. This wolf was the epiteme of what he always wanted to be, even if he did make mistakes as he did. "You may yet be the only thing that keeps me sane." Pulling up from his bed, he pat Eclipse's head and stood on strengthened legs. "I need something to do... anything. Just to keep my mind clear."

Eclipse rolled himself off the bed falling on feathered wings with a thud before bouncing right back up. What to do, what to do? Didn't Saradin ever just have fun? He grabbed the edge of Saradin's sleeve gently between his teeth and pulled him from his room. Any other time he would play shadow seek, his favorite game, but seeing as that used shadow energy it was not going to happen. He let out a half growl as he thought. In fact every game he played by himself used shadow energy, everything he played with someone else used brute strength. Ding idea, something simple was the key to keeping a man's mind clear. He barked at Saradin and started downstairs.

Rubbing the physical aches out of his head as they were replaced by deeper ones, Saradin moved slowly at first after Eclipse. Within a minute, he was again near full capacity and following after Eclipse, keeping pace with him. Curious as to where and to what task he was being led, he tailed after Eclipse down the stairs. "What are you planning for me?"

Sleeve in mouth again he led Saradin around, out into the courtyard, and beyond the visible open areas, through dense fence like foliage. When he stopped they were in another clearing. This one contained a pile of rocks that formed a cave like structure, and a small pool of water. This was Eclipse's little getaway, where he went when he wanted a break. He let go of Saradin's sleeve and walked over to the rock cave disappearing into it. Moments later he came back with what seemed to be a glowing orb of light in his mouth which he dropped at Saradin's feet.

All of this was very odd. Down on one knee examining the sphere, Saradin was his usual self, wary of whatever this object was. A moments compulsary deliberation was spent on it before deciding. He trusted that Eclipse was not in fact out to harm him and picked up the orb. The glistening ball of light lit up the area around his hand as he held it up, examinging it. "What is it?"
PostPosted: Thu Aug 12, 2004 9:44 pm

He laughed in his own head again, finding it delightful how Saradin asked questions to which he would get no verbal response. Now how to explain this one. This ball of light was many things. It was relief, simplicity, something that could entrance a man enough to banish even the darkest thought...and a wonderful plaything to boot. He took the orb from Saradin in his jaws, and set on the ground rolling it away with a wing tip, watching as it's glow dimmed. He followed it as it rolled then wing tipped it back towards Saradin, barking at it as it grew brighter as it neared the man. This was also Eclipse's little helper in keeping the darkness at bay, in a way at least.

Saradin picked up the ball of light again and basked in the light of its glow, almost instinctively began to understand its purpose. He had seen such things before, but he had always convinced himself that such things were just a crutch and would only weaken him in the end. But now, in its light and in the presence of the wolf who had provided it, it was such a simple object and didnt seem capable of anything more than the joy it gave to some. "You want to play?" The orb left his hand and traveled skyward only to be gripped in the ever present gravity and dragged down again into the hand that had tossed it. Knowing he would recieve no answer to his question, he gently tossed the ball to Eclipse.

((Well, gotta call it a night. The dreaded server maintenance approaches))

And so began the simplest game man had created to play with is best friend. Fetch. Powerful enough to take a man's worries away even only for a time being. Each time it was thrown, it was brought back no matter how far it had traveled.

Pheaura went out to the pond today. She needed fresh air. She was still grieving on the inside, but she couldn't keep herself locked away forever. She lay on her stomach and just watched the fish as they swam around.

((No more hurricane! Yay!))

Aura was wandering the halls, she had been for a few hours now. She hadn't been able to sleep...too much to think about, so much to prepare for. Not only for herself but her friends as well. Aura always did seem to work faster when she didn't sleep. Though not very healthy at all it did help her get things done. She would just crash and sleep for a while later, eventually.

((I will never get the hurricane! Woot I love Canada!!!!))

Pheaura dipped her finger in the cool pool of water. She wasn't thinking of anything in particular. She just wished that something would happen to get her mind of Quian. She really missed him.
