Shokushu Ren: That was sort of my point. With up to date technology we coul just install the strong power source in the box. Jon: Don't you have to wail on it with whatever weapon for about an hour, get it to move over some complicated runes, and then mock it for about an hour to make them explode? I thought you guys never had the money for that kind of thing- And besides all of that, what did you do with the ectoplasm that sort of thing gave off? You didn't just stick radioactive labels on canisters (to keep people away, not warn them of the actual contents,) and dump them in nearby bodies of water did you? That crap is like a catalyst for the formation of new ghosts. Runes don't cost money, seriously, what's a rune? it's just some weird writting on a tablet or something, costs 50 cents to get a bag of pens and another like, buck to get a brick, problem solved.

Jeez, I go and make runes like that and I get scolded for it. As for the actual reason they are estimated at so much is that invisible ink crap that only shows up when the symbols that were scribbled all over the place become active. The ingredients in the inks and a bunch of crap that shouldn't matter like that are all difficult to procure. You can go look for them yourself but even teleporting about it would take about a full day to get enough for an only mildly troublesome ghost. I'd assume you had a faster and cheaper method of doing it except that Banshi is sort of proof against that- unless you're keeping her around on purpose.
Edit: You might mean just beat them up until they fade out but anybody who's played Jade Empire knows that they only fade out temporarily- you've got to either force them into their next life cycle or shatter the spirit through ritual.

Some people need to use specific materials for their runes. Compensates for the beginners a bit. Gives a bit of a nudge to more advanced work, but not enough to bother, most of the time. Those things usually tend to be expensive. I hardly ever use runes at all any more, and when I do, I use chalk.
Jade Empire is fun and all, but it doesn't exactly describe how things really work. Spirits can be destroyed. Got a couple myself last week. No big deal.
I think Banshi's nice. Plus, she keeps Jon in check, and we don't even have to pay her. So yeah, we could do something about her. I just prefer not to.

NightRayn I could have sore that that was my job, but I could be wrong. You regulate him a bit, which is nice... And very effectively, too, I might add. We do appreciate that. However, there is some concern that you're too... Nice to him. sweatdrop That's where Banshi comes in. Not that she doesn't try to be nice to him too, mind - just that it's still punishment in the end. twisted

I think Ren just has something about me ever acting as an authority on anything ever. I go to reinforce the Ghost Busters method but am shot down by someone who is clearly my superior in every way, so much in fact that he need only dismiss my statements with a wave of his hand and his own method- calling the rest of us novices as though you weren't born unto the world as a monster slayer and not affected by the regular limitations of humans. *sulks bitterly*

Haru Mania So! How about those walrusi? Are those the small walrus like critters or the brand of flavorred ice stuff on a stick walrusi? If the former then I think they are cute and make good pets, if the letter then I think those small crunchy parts in them get stuck in my teeth too much.
