Don watched the two leave and after awhile the doctor came back in to tell them the details. It wasn't much to go off of. She mentioned the pains she had and how she didn't get what had happened since they were never bad like that. They explained how they might have happened, and to her it seemed they did their best to make it seem just like an accident and not her fault.
The hours passed as she sat there with Zexion. She had asked about possibly everything she could to the doctors. It was possible she could try again. That was at least something to look at, but after this painful experience she was scared if she could ever do it. They had assured that if she got frequent check-ups they could prevent any problems.
She wanted to believe them, she really did...
The doctors suggested that she stay for a few days, but it was the last thing she wanted to do. She didn't want to be in the hospital. She lost Adonia, she could admit that, but she didn't want to leave Veziell.
"You...should just take me home. I'll rest there," She remarked to Zexion. "I don't like being away from everyone."
Saix ate with the group as there wasn't much conversation going on, the kids were eating rather oblivious to what was happening. His eyes went over to Vilt who seemed pretty shocked and out of it. He felt bad for the kid, yet proud that Vilt knew how to react in such an emergency.
But thinking of the miscarriage, he remembered far back in the dream, when Don was going to have his child thanks to Vexen's stupid potions, that she had miscarried as well. At least, the delivery came and the child was dead...
He wondered if that was some type of foreshadowing as to why Don had such difficulties this time? What if children that were only Zexion's were allowed to live? He felt almost spooked by the thought...and wondered if he was just thinking too much, acting too spooked.
Xemnas was by far the only one who seemed as passive about it as the kids. It felt like an everyday thing, and without a heart, he didn't feel devastated or proud of the information.
Ansem felt shocked just like everyone else, but he thought it best that after dinner he suggest to Death to get some monthly check-ups just in case. He was told she was pregnant, and though they were no longer a couple he assumed he'd still be able to give her sound advice about what she should do. At least, if she cared for the child she was carrying...
His eyes turned to Darkness and noticed the boy looked a bit worn. "Don't forget to eat your peas."
Darkness stared at the peas and up at Ansem, an odd look about the boy's face. He finally spoke up on what was bothering him as he put one pea into his mouth. "We didn't go to the park today. Can we go tomorrow?"
That was right, the rush of things made him forget. "Oh, of course. I'm sorry I forgot. I'll make it up to you. When we go tomorrow I'll take you someplace nice to eat, how's that sound?"
Darkness's smile came back to his face, "Can I bring Davien, too?"
Davien looked up from his plate surprised at the invitation. He...was being allowed to go?
"Yes, of course, I don't see why not."
Saix glanced over prepared to debunk it all and say that Davien had something else to do, or that the kids shouldn't leave the area, but didn't fight it. He saw the smile on Davien's face and realized he'd only crush the boy's dream. Then he started to notice...
Davien didn't say much to him, but the boy liked Darkness. What if...Davien wished for Ansem to take him in instead?
He felt another twinge of pain in his heart. He didn't want to lose Davien as well...but what if Ansem could provide better because of Darkness? He felt almost as if....he should just allow it and hand the boy over. To him....it felt like he had already lost Davien.

As the night approached and the kids were sleeping, the adults found this the time to be quiet and enjoy the relaxing silence of the place. Zexion escorted Don home and helped her into their bed, he sat up her pillow, and adjusted the blankets around her. The light on the bedsides were on to make the room lit, but only a soft yellow glow. He brushed her hair out of her eyes, and looked at her, "Is there anything you want to eat? Or drink?" They had just got home after being in the hospital all day, he was starving, but didn't want to leave her alone.
Xaldin was in the living room with a few of the other adults playing a card game. They helped Zexion move Don, but were mostly just trying to stay out of their way and let her rest. He turned his card over and stared at his possibilities, doing the next move quietly.
Genesis was sitting sidways on the comfy chair, indulging in a book to escape the pain of the day. He didn't want to think about it, he knew he'd have to confront it, but... no.
Death was sitting outside, rocking on the bench as she looked at the stars and such, some candles flickering to keep the bugs away off of her. She figured the next day she'd help Zexion take care of Don, but for the night she was, like almost everyone else, lost in thought about Adonia. Perhaps she was thinking about it a lot too since Adonia and Evante were so close.
Veziell had been tucked in by Xaldin, but he was hardly asleep, he poked his head out of his room when he heard shuffling and felt relieved that his parents were home, but he didn't go running out to them. Instead he headed back into his bed and waited for them to come say goodnight to him.

Don shook her head at his offer. She had some medicine in her to subdue any leftover pain she might have, and it had made her have less of an appetite. She just felt drained to the point she'd rather pass out then think about trying to eat. "I think I'll just sleep..." She scratched the side of her head, brushing some of her gnarled hair out of the way. "You should go eat if you're hungry, though...and check up on Veziell." She wondered about the little boy, especially after the long hours of waiting in the hospital. Don didn't want to make him feel abandoned, but she kept wondering how everyone else would act. She did just ******** up and lose the kid that was so sweet and innocent with the rest of the group. What if Veziell would judge her? Did he even know? Well he knew she was gone...she could at least imagine that....
Truthfully she wasn't sure what to think anymore. Everything just hurt too much.
The next day seemed to slowly drag toward everyone in the night. For some it was rather sleepless, the sudden grasp that Adonia would never be around them dragging into their hearts. Marluxia was upset all night. Adonia was the one that played with Evante the most. They were sweethearts. Now what? His little boy might not ever have that ever again. He felt hurt for his own future child. And he hurt even more thinking that it was possible that the same thing would happen to Death. That she'd miscarry and it'd all be over.
He felt hands grasp around him as the day was dark and dreary outside. He didn't feel like getting up, but knew that he couldn't stay in bed forever. It wasn't even his child, he shouldn't feel so affected.
His eyes turned to Entity that was grappling onto him for comfort. "Not right now, okay?"
Entity pulled back from Marluxia. "I just wanted to comfort you."
Marluxia shook his head and got out of bed instead of responding to him. Someone had to keep the place going.
Entity watched Marluxia for awhile before turning his attention away. Marluxia kept putting up a front he felt like. Entity could understand, Marluxia must be used to different relationships, but he still couldn't help but feel a tad ashamed each time Marluxia kept him at bay or rejected him. They hadn't bothered telling anyone else about their relationship either, and Entity began to wonder if Marluxia was just using him until he found something better.
He wouldn't really be surprised. He wasn't much of anything to anyone, and it wasn't like it'd be the first time he was used as a tool, either. For some reason, he had thought that maybe things would be different this time around.
Marluxia fixed his hair and looked at Entity through the mirror. He turned around and stared at the man. "Get out of bed."
Entity felt that shame again. He felt like a pest that had to be kept secret or something. He got up and dressed as well, slowly as usual. Sometimes he wondered if Marluxia ever got impatient with him, and at this moment as he felt Marluxia's cold blue eyes watch him he knew that the man was counting the minutes.
"Should I come back tonight?"
Marluxia thought it over, crossing his arms over his chest. He appreciated Entity, but things were so messed up at the moment that he didn't feel like anything was right. "I'll tell you later." He didn't say anything after that, and he watched Entity leave the room magically going from Marluxia's room straight to Entity's with the boy's powers.
Xemnas hadn't slept a wink. He felt fine, really. The night passed on fine for him while he sat and thought to himself. He wondered if he should try and talk to Genesis about the entire ordeal. He knew the man had to be choked up or hiding it. Then again, maybe some people with hearts could act just like people without hearts?
But it was Genesis. That man had to have something bottled up inside him...
Vilt was the first awake and he was in the kitchen eating some cereal he made for himself. The incident gave him nightmares to the point he decided to stop sleeping and to just stay awake. Davien had joined him and he noticed he hadn't got much sleep either. "What's bugging you?"
Davien shrugged. "I don't know...I just can't sleep anymore..." He felt like all he could ever do was lie in bed but never sleep. It was annoying and tiresome. But he could never get to sleep. So each night he'd end up thinking more and more...and he wondered about Ansem and Darkness. They were so much fun to be around. Was it wrong that he liked Ansem? He felt like he was being unfaithful to Death and Saix. He wanted to spend more time with the two, but they never were together...and Davien felt weird that they acted so split from each other. He knew things had crashed between them, but he felt like the promised parenthood they said they'd give him was just a big lie.
He kept wondering if it was secretly his fault instead of Ansem. And each night that he lay awake he found new reasons as to why Saix and Death really didn't like him....
And the more he thought like that, the more he was afraid they would forget adopting him and they'd give him up to someone else. He was terrified about that. He really kept wondering if no one liked him in the group...
And as Davien's thoughts were of fears of being given up, Saix kept thinking about how it might just be better that way. He believed Davien really liked Ansem. He had only seen the kid around Ansem a few times, but Davien got along so well with Darkness even with the age gap...
He couldn't give Davien that same comfort and friend the way Ansem could, especially since the man had Darkness practically attached to him...
He wondered if he should discuss with Ansem about it... Wouldn't Davien feel so much better that way? Besides. Death and him were torn apart. The child would never get something stable and nice with them. He would be better off with Ansem...

The next day Zexion awoke in Veziell's bed. Don had passed out quite early and he decided to go check up on Veziell after he made himself something to eat. The poor boy was depressed, as expected, for being practically abandoned that day. Although Zexion knew that it was mostly an exageration, he could understand Veziell feeling so strongly about his parents being gone all day without explaining that they would even be back. He wondered how he was going to ever detach enough from Don and himself to go to school, and he wondered if it would just happen naturally, or if the two of them could push it. Then again, now was not really the time to think about Veziell's upbringing when he should be in mourning over Adonia. The girl had been in his life so much, and was a daughter to him for many years, she was truly a child of Don, she acted and sounded so much like her. Veziell seemed to have so much of himself... it was difficult trying to think about just how it happened. What had gone wrong? As the thunder struck, and the rain kept patting down against the window he lifted his head and glanced over to Veziell, who was still passed out in his tiny bed as Zexion was crunched up with him. He didn't even remember falling asleep with the boy, but at least he seemed relaxed and peaceful having his father next to him. He slowly sat up and stretched, hearing his bones align. He got up and left the room to head into Don's and check up on her.
Death, for once didn't sleep much either that night, too lost in her own thoughts, and worrying about Evante. She decided she would get her own check up today, but she was honestly afraid to go by herself. It broke her heart just thinking about what Don went through, and what if the doctor had similar news for Death? That something was wrong? She didn't want to face that alone, but she didn't feel like there was anyone she could ask to go with her. What about... Davien? Would he go with her, well she could imagine it'd be awkward for him, but she really didn't know who else to turn to. She looked over at her door and soon sat back down on her bed, wanting to just hide in her room instead of facing anyone.
Nevou was up in the kitchen already preparing breakfast fort he kids and such as he listened to the rain patter outside. It was soothing, even if it only added to the depressing effect of the day.
Xaldin was awake as well, sipping coffe as he was trying to wake himself up. It was going to be a difficult day as they all tried to hide their depression from the kids. He wondered if it was really such a good idea to do so. Maybe they should confront the issue with the children? So they could be come more accustomed to such events? Then again, explaining it would be too difficult.

Don was lying in bed awake, covers twisted around her while she had pushed her pillow off the bed. It looked like she had a rough night of fighting or something, but really she just got too hot and had to push everything away from her, or at least tried to. She kept getting this big guilty feeling bottling up inside her, right in the pits of her stomach and it choked her. She wasn't crying, but it felt like the burning sensation in her eyes were enough to make it start. Still, no tears came as of yet. She was burnt out from yesterday and she felt pretty defeated and weak. Her mind would flash over to times when Adonia was around, her cute smile, her beautiful bob of hair and her delightful personality. What had she done?
She lifted her hands up to stare at them in the gloomy light that came from the window, though it was dim from the storm. She took in the crevices and folds of each finger, the tips of each nail and the small scars here and there. These hands would never hold Adonia ever again. No one would ever hold her.
Her hands came down and covered her eyes, a deep sigh escaping her as she brought in more air to make the feeling go away.
Finally, tears came.
Xemnas had left his room from the blasting storm that rocked his window. He moved to the hallway and took his path toward Genesis's room, knocking on the door softly, "Genesis? It's Xemnas." He wondered how he was feeling, if the man was awake at all.
Vilt looked at Nevou and Xaldin in the kitchen, but it seemed neither had any advice for Davien's mysterious sleeping problem. Then again, maybe neither heard the boy? He did speak quietly...
"Maybe you should talk to your parents about that?"
Davien shook his head, "What would they do about it?"
"I don't know. Get you to a doctor to see what's wrong?"
"I'd rather not bother them. It's nothing."
Vilt wanted to pursue the topic and try and get Davien to open up about his problem, but he could tell that Davien was uncomfortable with releasing any information. He wondered if it had to do with the group around him?
Sephiroth came in with Rathe, the boy was peering about the place since he wasn't used to a thunderstorm like this before. "You're up early," he remarked to Vilt.
Vilt noticed Sephiroth sat down beside him and he gave a small shrug, looking at the little boy that stared at them tiredly. "I think everyone didn't sleep well last night."
Sephiroth set Rathe in his seat and glanced at Davien before returning his eyes to Vilt. "I see." He didn't know if Davien knew, but he wasn't going to be the one to break the news to him.
Saix moved out of his room to check on Lina. He entered into the room and sat down on her bed, watching her for a minute. What would he do if something like that happened to him? Well...it had in a dream, but what if it happened now? What if Siot would never grace his presence?
Saix gently brushed some of Lina's hair out of her face, keeping his yellow eyes on the angelic face before him. He wasn't sure if he could let go of that.
His eyes turned back to the door and wondered about Death. If Don had problems...Death might, too. Was she as worried as he was thinking she would be? What if...he went and talked to her? But they were on such bad terms, he'd almost think it'd be like putting salt in the wound....
Then again, he wanted to discuss things about Davien to her and Ansem....
He rose up and left Lina's room without waking her and moved to Death's door, giving it a small knock wondering if she was even awake.
Ansem woke up in the morning to find Darkness snuggled up against him, the boy looked so peaceful he almost didn't want to get up for the day. But he rose and prepared knowing that even as dreadful and depressing the day might be, he would have to keep Darkness's smile upon the boy's chubby cheeks. He wouldn't let slip a single unhappy emotion toward the boy.
He picked the boy up in his arms and cradled the boy close to him. "Good morning, Darkness," Ansem softly remarked and saw the bright orange eyes open up to stare at him. "It's raining outside."
The boy looked over and nodded at Ansem. "The thunder scared me."
"There's no reason to be afraid, it can't hurt you. It's just noise."
Darkness watched the lightning before he turned his eyes back to Ansem. "I guess we can't go to the park now." He clung to Ansem and sighed gently. "Does Davien have to go to school today? I want to play games with him."
"I'm afraid he does, Darkness, but when he comes back I'm sure he'll love to play with you."
"Okay," Darkness remarked. "I'm hungry. Let's go eat."
"All right," Ansem remarked and carried the boy to the kitchen.
Once Darkness set his eyes on Davien he brightened and squirmed his way into the seat beside him. "Hi Davien."
Davien looked at Darkness. It looked like he had a lot of sleep in him, something Davien envied. "Hey." He looked at Ansem and smiled at him as well, but felt the smile fade away as he thought about his real father. Why did it seem everyone's father or mother absolutely adored them....yet his own father had denied him?
The thought made him feel sick to his stomach, but he kept the upset feeling to himself. He felt so rejected....

Zexion slowly came into Don's room and heard her crying. He quickly came over and sat on the bed next to her, rubbing her shoulder and back. He leaned forward and kissed the side of her cheek, "It wasn't your fault... this was completely out of all of our controls." He said, not knowing if that was the reason she was crying, or if it was just for the loss of Adonia all together. Seeing her cry made tears stream down his own cheek, but he quickly whiped at his eyes and rubbed beneath them with his thumb, pushing back the tears. He wanted to comfort her, but he knew that Veziell would probably be up-
"Momma..." Veziell's soft voice came from the door, "Why are you crying?"
Zexion turned his head and looked at the boy, who was toting around the blanket, sucking on his thumb tiredly. He smiled softly and came over to his son, picking him up, he didn't want to lie to Veziell, and yet... lying that nothing was wrong was also a bad idea. "Sometimes adults cry, but your mother will be okay. She just... needs us to show we love her."
Veziell rested his calming eyes onto her and crawled off of Zexion, going over and laying down next to Don. He laid on his side and pet her hair. "Please don't cry, I love you even more than daddy does!"
Death flinched, startled by the sudden knocking on her door. She lifted her head and glanced at her mirror quickly, ugh, every day she looked more and more like s**t no matter how hard she tried not to. "Come in." She said softly. As the door opened she was surprised to see Saix, what did he want, to yell at her? Tell her she was being a bad parent? What did she possibly do wrong NOW. She was going to say good morning, but bit her tongue, waiting for him to speak up first, only giving him a questioning look.
Xaldin glanced over to Vilt and Davien as he tried to give the boy advice. He went over and dished out the breakfast onto Davien's plate. "I think talking to your mother or father would be a very good idea. You know, neither of them are able to sleep well at night either, they'd be good comforts. Death could probably use some company." Since she hardly came out of her room except to attempt being with the kids.
Genesis looked up as Xemnas had come into his room. He was still waking up and his eyes were half closed, he rubbed his eyes, and his hair was a complete mess. As soon as he noticed who was in his room his eyes widened in surprise a bit and he straightened his sloppy shirt and hair. "Xemnas... h-h-how are you doing?" He asked nervously.

Don watched as Zexion and Veziell came in to comfort her. She felt so bad, but seeing them gave her a bit more hope. Made her feel like the mistake could be made up somehow...
"I love both of you so much..." She pulled Veziell into her, feeling the comfort of the blanket since it was wrapped around him. Aw, she forgot that feeling. So comforting.
"Momma's just...having a rough week. She doesn't feel very good. But now that you're here I feel better..." She kissed Veziell's head and reached over and grabbed Zexion's hand, lacing her fingers into his. She didn't know what to say just yet. Her mind felt cluttered... Her hand went up and pulled Zexion down and she gave him a kiss on the lips. "I'll be okay," she whispered to him. "It just hurts right now..."
Saix looked at Death and glanced around the room a minute before approaching somewhat closer to her. "Death..." he started out, trying to think it all through. No sense in holding it back, he didn't want to waste her time. "I know we're not on good terms, but after all the things that have been going on recently, I was just...worried about you. What Don has gone through might happen to you, too and...I wouldn't want that to happen to anyone." He hesitated for a moment, feeling like he didn't know how to form his sentences completely. "Also...I wanted to talk to you about Davien. Maybe now isn't the right time...but..." he fell silent again. He felt choked on the subject. "Well, I promised him a good family and everything has fallen apart so far. I...noticed he likes Darkness a lot...and I wonder if...if Davien would like being with Ansem instead? That way those two can be together indefinitely..."
Saix glanced at the mirror then to the window, as if looking for an escape route, or perhaps a new answer to it all. "I just feel like my promise is a lie and that if I can't provide what he really wants and needs then I shouldn't have jurisdiction over him." He wondered if she thought he was insane. "I didn't talk to Ansem about it. I guess I've been just waiting for the past few months to see how it works, and Davien doesn't look any better with me then he did with Xemnas."
Davien glanced over at Xaldin and let his eyes go back down to the table. "Y-Yeah I-I don't know....I..." Davien hesitated in saying much more. "I...just thought that having two parents meant...I'd get them both at the same time...but I guess not."
Ansem looked at Davien and rested a hand on the boy's shoulder, "When parents separate it can be hard to have that, but I think if you told them they would get over their differences to make sure that you're comforted. You're very important to them, Davien, I think if you brought it up they would make sure that you got time with them together."
Davien gave a small smile but it vanished once again, "Yeah...I guess....I don't want to bother them..." He was afraid they'd disown him if he did.
"You're not bothering them, you're being a son. Children ask their parents for things and parents provide. There's no reason to be shy about that."
Davien looked Ansem in the eyes finally, staring into the orange colored irises. He felt like he could believe anything Ansem told him. But Xemnas...whenever he asked him for anything the man had ignored him. He was so used to being ignored and pushed away, that feeling of rejection for being so annoying and useless...
He didn't want that to be the same with Saix. He turned his eyes away again to the breakfast before him, and instead of responding he just picked up his fork and ate some food.
Vilt wondered about Davien's situation. He wanted both of them at once...
He never thought about that, about asking for something like that. He just assumed Sephiroth and Genesis were two different beings that worked differently. Vilt never dreamed of the two spending time together with him.
It almost sounded like it'd be too good to be true. Perhaps having them separate was for the best. Maybe that's why Death and Saix were never together with Davien....
Xemnas looked at Genesis as he had closed the door gently behind him. He came over to the figure and sat down in one of the chairs that was in the room. "I'm doing rather well, but I came in here to ask you that question. You've been so patient and kind enough to wait on me while I healed, I think that perhaps I can return a favor what with your own situation. If there's anything I can do for you, I wouldn't mind doing it." He offered his services so kindly, wondering about the contract and he wished he had a heart. But he didn't feel hurt about not having it. At least if things went sour somehow then he wouldn't feel any pain!

Zexion gave Don a warm smile, he didn't expect her to heal over night. He kissed Don and then the top of Veziell's head. "Come on, warrior, let's let momma rest and we'll get something to eat. You can visit her later, okay?" He got off the bed and picked Veziell up.
Veziell handed Don the blanket, that was originally hers anyways, "Here mommy, maybe Mr. Blankie will make you feel better." he said hopefully. He clung around Zexion's neck and started to suck his thumb again, resting the side of his head against Zexion's chest.
"Want me to bring you anything to eat or drink?" He offered before leaving the room.
Death listened to the man, and was actually... surprised. She never thought in all her life that he would open up like that, much less to her. She stood up and lead him to the bed to sit down. She kept her hands folded inbetween her legs as she sat and listened to his worries. "I... I am afraid for myself, for Evante." She admitted. "I wanted to go to the doctors, but I didn't want to go alone, and I definately didn't want to resort to asking someone to come with me." Which went back to her original complaint about going through this without someone to depend like she should have. As he talked about Davien she shook her head, "Don't... don't think that way. Davien knows that we love him, at least I hope he does. I know losing Darkness to Ansem was difficult, I feel that pain too. Part of me still doesn't trust Ansem, and Darkness has transferred his attachment to me onto Ansem, and I am afraid that... he'll get hurt. I think Davien is better with us, with you. At least you can be trusted with the children. Besides, if Davien stays with you, it will be a link to be with Darkness from time to time." She didn't know if she was making the situation better or worse. "I think we should leave things as they are, you know if you ask Davien, he'll take it as though you don't love him."
Xaldin smirked at Davien's wish to have Death and Saix do things together with the boy. Even if the boy didn't speak up about his feelings, Xaldin would. They needed to hear it, to help the boy feel appreciated by both of them together.
Genesis was surprised by Genesis' offering. He gulped and looked away. "I... I don't think... I... I need anything right now." Why was he so nervous? Was it... because over the past few months he was growing more and more attached to the man? He found him dyingly attractive, intoxicating. There were many things he wanted as a favor, but he couldn't speak up about it.

Don gave a small nod to Zexion before she laid back down into bed with Mr. Blankie. Ahhh...she missed him. It was like everything was all better now...
She put it on her head and curled back into the other blankets to sleep, feeling like everything was going to be okay. Just as long as she rested and healed...maybe the others wouldn't blame her, or be upset of the tragic incident. Adonia's death would be looked upon not with overdramatic mourning...but maybe a calm understanding that maybe...maybe there was something else in mind for her in this second world....
Saix turned his attention onto Death as he sat beside her and she answered his questions. He wanted to say that Darkness was the problem, that he might as well let go completely so as not to cause himself anymore pain. But he felt like saying that might just backfire, as if he was running away form his problems.
And thinking of Davien disliking him for his thoughts. He wondered if Davien really would be that upset? He thought that the boy would like the idea....
But maybe Death was right, what if Davien took it the wrong way? The boy would be crushed. It'd be all his fault...
He'd just wait...wait and see.
"You're right. I guess I'm just...overreacting." He hesitated before turning his eyes onto her. "Over the past few months I thought Ansem was doing pretty well. That must be why I was thinking of it. But there's no point in worrying about that."
Saix sighed slightly before finally resolving to just be straightforward. "Look, why don't I take you to the doctor's? It means you don't have to go alone, you don't have to ask anyone, and it'll at least ensure us what exactly is going on, if anything is."
Darkness started eating his own food and turned his eyes onto Davien. He giggled a little bit before poking his brother. "Davien, when you're done with school do you want to play a game with me? It'll be really fun, I just made it up."
Davien looked at Darkness and gave him a smile, "Okay, sure."
Darkness smiled back, "Yay! Be sure to be quick about your school stuff, okay? Don't take all day."
"I won't." Davien finished his breakfast. "Maybe next year you'll be old enough to come to school with me?"
"Really? You think so?" Darkness asked happily. "I'd like that."
Ansem didn't interrupt them. He encouraged letting Darkness speak up, and the more Darkness spoke the more Davien broke from his shy spell.
Sephiroth noticed Davien had successfully avoided committing to anything to the adults, especially about his problems, but he noticed the boy was devoted to Darkness. He wondered why that was, why Davien avoided the adults so much. Was it too late to save him?
Vilt watched as Ixas came in with Asi and Angeal soon was bringing in Anzio and Atheta as well. His eyes waited for Liel to appear, and she finally did. Almost everyone. He got up and put his dirty dishes away before hugging Sephiroth and tickling Rathe's belly. He wanted to say goodbye to Genesis as well before they had to leave, so he made his path toward Genesis's place...
Xemnas noticed Genesis's reaction. He could see the embarrassment, or perhaps shyness that Genesis was displaying before him. If only he could find attraction in this. But he couldn't. Then again, just because he couldn't feel anything didn't mean he should completely flush out people from his life. Truthfully, he could very well make everyone else's day by doing as they so wished. "Are you certain? I wouldn't want you to stay silent when you do want something."

Zexion walked into the kitchen with Veziell, and soon Lina trailing in behind him. The poor girl looked tired and with no energy. He looked around and noticed neither of her parents were up.
Xaldin soon came over and helped Lina up into her spot. He felt like he was the backup parent, which he didn't mind too much. Anytime one of the parents weren't around he soon came foreward and helped out the kids. He glanced at the clock and looked at the kids. "Fifteen minutes."
"But I just woke up." Lina said staring at her food, barely able to lift her head up.
Eseril sat promptly at her spot. As if holding it over Lina that she was able to get up fine. She smiled over to Anzio and batted her eyes. "Good morning Anzio."
"Good morning Eseril..." He said flatly and saw Lina rather tired. "Lina, are you okay?"
She perked up a bit and straightened herself as attention was drawn to her. "Huh? Oh... yeah... I just woke up." She shrugged.
Anzio smiled at her, "You should go to bed earlier." He suggested to her, but then felt a pull on his shirt. He looked over and saw Atheta.
She had a milk mustache and was blowing bubbles in her glass.
"Atheta." He said to her and whiped off her mouth. "That's not lady like." He informed her.
"Oh..." She pouted and stared at her glass. She looked up at him as he turned away and started blowing bubbles again. She looked up at her dad and pouted after a minute, "Pappa, how come I don't get to go to school like the others? I'm just as old as Lina!"
Death was surprised at his offer and she fiddled with her hands. "I.. uh. I guess if you want." But the more she thought about it the more she realized, "Perhaps, I should invite Marluxia too, I mean... I think he would want to be there if anything were to happen to Evante." Then again, "But..." Not like he'd be there for her support. "I don't care. I should get the kids ready for school." She said standing up, pushing the idea back. Maybe if she didn't mention it again she just wouldn't have to go.
Genesis thought about it and looked up at Xemnas, "Perhaps... you could make sure Vilt is ready for school with Eseril? And... I can sleep in a bit longer." That was an okay favor right?

Angeal looked down at his daughter and kissed her on the head, "Well, Atheta, I want to make sure that you're ready for school. It's okay to wait, there's no need to rush into things. And besides, don't you like being at home? You get to spend time with your old man," as if that was a pleasure. Well. Some kids liked their parents....
Sephiroth looked at the time and hoped that Vilt wouldn't fall back to sleep within those 15 minutes. That boy had talent...weird talent...
Rathe tried to work with his spoon finding it difficult to use. He glared at the nasty baby food and he flung some right into Sephiroth's lap. "No."
Sephiroth grabbed a napkin and wiped up the mess. Why him? "I know it isn't that appetizing, but eat what you can."
Rathe shook his head and held out his hands, "No." He wanted to be held instead of eating.
Sephiroth sighed and pulled Rathe into his arms, "I'm sorry it tastes bad."
Rathe yawned slightly and twirled his fingers into Sephiroth's hair. He looked up at him and gave Sephiroth a pitiful look. "Daddy? Home?"
"No, Rathe, your father isn't home."
Rathe stared for awhile before he started to pout and cry, blubbering and whining at the information. He missed him terribly.
Saix watched her get up and prepare to go see the kids. He didn't think Marluxia needed to be involved, but then again, it was Marluxia's child. He didn't say anything else, just moved to say goodbye to the others as well.
Xemnas nodded at his words. It was at least something. "Yes I suppose I could that."
But Vilt burst in and went over to Genesis and hugged him. "Hey dad, I have to get going, I have a test today. Don't do anything wild and crazy without me, okay?" Vilt moved from the room prepared to just leave like that.
Xemnas got up and followed him, "Hold on, Vilt, perhaps you can help all the other kids as well. It'd be quite the nice and responsible thing to do if we made sure they all had their things together, yes?"
Vilt stared at Xemnas before smiling slightly, "Yeah, probably." He followed Xemnas out toward the area where the few kids that were done were packing up steadily. He helped whoever he could, making sure to keep rain jackets and boots handy with their backpacks completely zipped to keep out the rain.
When Davien was all prepared he noticed Death and Saix were there. It was like a rare moment. They were there together... "Um...I'm going now."
Saix noticed the look on the boy's face. "Good, so am I."
Davien looked up at him, "You...mean mom and you are coming or just you?"
"We're both coming with you." He fixed the boy's hair a bit. His eyes went to Lina as she was now prepared. He fixed her clothes before kissing his daughter on the head. "All right. Let's get going."
"Try not to get too drenched," Xemnas offered for them and noticed Vilt wasn't paying attention. He tugged on him gently. "Stick with the pack."
Vilt saluted slightly before looking at the bunches of children. Oy.

Zexion soon returned to Don's room, carrying something soft and soothing for her to eat and drink. He came over to her bedside and placed the tray down next to her. "Here... I brought you something to eat." He brushed her hair out of her eyes, "Veziell is playing with the others for now."
Veziell was downstairs, making good use of the playground with the others. Marluxia and Xaldin were watching them run around. He turned to Marluxia, "So, are you feeling better at all today?" Since after losing Adonia, Marluxia seemed pretty tense.
Veziell was giggling as he was being chased by Liel and Atheta together. Why wasn't Darkness playing with them he wondered. Wasn't he the same agem? Maybe the girls would chase him instead! That's when he tripped and scraped his knee, which then commenced into tears galore.
Death walked quietly with Saix, though she splurged in jumping in puddles while holding Lina's hand as the girl jumped in them too.
Anzio laughed and was about to as well, but Eseril whined and clung to him. Telling him not get dirty.
Death soon went over and playfully pushed Davien, "Watch out of the puddle." She said jookingly, though the puddle was easily avoided. She smiled at him, messing his hair up slightly. Before walking with him underneath her umbrella, which she hadn't really been using.
Lina soon came over and huddled underneath it as well.
Anzio looked over and wanted to join in. Standing next to Lina, which then brought Eseril, and eventually Ixas, until Death looked like a mother duck with a bunch of chicks huddling beneath her feathers.

Don sat up more and winced at the pain but was thankful to get something into her stomach. She took her time with eating, and when she was almost done she brought her attention over to Zexion. "Zexion....you know...when I first said that I'd have Adonia...I was just trying to be nice for the group because you all loved her so much. I wasn't really thinking about myself at all during that entire ordeal. But...now that she's gone...all I can really think about is how much she was important to me as she was for everyone else." Her hands shook slightly as she kept them around her drink, thinking long and hard about her next words. Her eyes looked into his. "She made me realize how much I really wanted a kid." She grabbed his hand, "Do you think it'd be wrong to think about....having another child? I know it wasn't exactly part of the plan...but...I don't think I could just go on living knowing that..that was my only chance."
Marluxia shook his head gently, "No. Adonia meant a lot to Evante. I'm not sure what to even think anymore about this 'second chance.' I feel like this second chance was worse than what we had. I...I just hope that Evante will be okay." He watched as Veziell had fallen and hurt himself. He eased himself up and picked Veziell up into his arms, taking him back over to sit down and to fix the wound. "It's okay, Veziell, it's just a small scrape, let uncle Marluxia help you make it feel better."
Liel watched how it panned out that Veziell would get hurt like that. She felt bad but then decided it was bound to happen. That kid seemed accident prone. She raced over to the little swings and sat down on one and started to swing. "I wish I could fly."
Rathe rose up on his feet and hobbled a bit over from Sephiroth to Xaldin. He looked under the chair and moved his way toward where he used to sleep, finding no traces of his father. He kept searching, wobbling his way about on his shakey legs that could hardly carry him. When he found out that he couldn't find Xehanort he started to cry again, grappling onto Sephiroth's knees to bawl all over him.
Sephiroth pulled the boy up into his arms and cradled him, letting Rathe do as he pleased. He felt bad that Rathe was missing his father this much, but he didn't know what else to do but to let the child cry when he needed to. He hoped in time Rathe would forget that Xehanort was ever his father. As cruel as it sounded, he assumed it'd be best for the boy.
Darkness was upstairs with Ansem snuggling with him. It was like this all the time. Darkness would cling to Ansem and take a nap for awhile before he wanted to go do something. He just didn't want to let go of his father. It was too painful before that he had left..
Saix walked alongside the group beside Vilt, the two, perhaps worst way to put it, outcasts of the group. Neither was tiny enough for umbrella huddling, and they were also men. They believed weather couldn't do them any harm.
Davien glanced over at his father and noticed the distance between Death and Saix. They didn't talk to each other, even in his presence. He felt that soreness in his chest again, something he thought he'd grow accustomed to feeling, but for some reason the pain was always worse each time it came back. He wondered if his entire life would just have to be two separate stages. One with a mother and one with a father...
Did he just have to imagine there was a middle ground?
Vilt glanced at the group before turning his eyes to Saix, "Saix, can I ask you something? Do you think you could tell Don that I really appreciate her helping me out?"
Saix looked over at Vilt curiously, "Me? I suppose...."
"What do girls like as gifts?" Vilt asked suddenly.
"Hmm....flowers, chocolates, stuffed animals..."
Vilt thought it over before smiling, "Okay, thanks." He punched Saix in the arm as he saw his school coming closer. "Well, see you later old man!"
Old man? Whatever, he wasn't old!

Zexion held Don's hand as he fed her every once ine a while. Cutting up her food for her and such. As she mentioned having a child he looked down. "I do think it might be a little early to think about it, but I don't think it was your only chance. Eventually perhaps... you and I could... try for a child of our own."
Eventually Veziell calmed down as the pain soon subsided and he stared at Rathe as the boy cried, "Is he okay?" He asked, pointing to Rathe. "What's the matter?"
Atheta was quietly swinging with Liel, not saying anything as she was enjoying the sound of the rain and getting the whole playground to themselves.
Eventually all three kids scattered off to their own schools, and it was down to the three of them. "So, Davien, any idea what you'll be doing in class today?"

Eventually? Don had never questioned Zexion previously, but she didn't exactly know how long 'eventually' was. Did that mean he'd just wait until it was out of her mind? Of course she didn't mind waiting and healing, getting over the loss and whatnot, but she felt like she deserved solid numbers and dates to when everything would happen instead of a wishy washy statement.
"Right," she remarked, but didn't pursue the topic. "I'm still really tired, I think I'm just going to go back to sleep."
Marluxia kept his grasp on Veziell when the boy pointed out Rathe. "Well, sometimes Rathe misses his father so he cries. He's not hurt, though, Rathe will be all right."
Rathe kept crying as he held onto Sephiroth for comfort. Why hadn't his father returned? It had been so long...
He kept forgetting what he looked like. In his dreams he remembered everything, but when he woke up things started to blur a bit. He wanted to go back into Xemnas's room to look at the painting, to remember everything, but he wasn't allowed in there anymore. He wondered if one day he'd forget everything...
Sephiroth rubbed Rathe's back as the boy's screams and cries soon turned to whimpering and miserable, quiet sobs. "It's okay, Rathe, I'm here for you."
Rathe looked up at him before resting his head into Sephiroth's chest. What ever happened to his parents?
Davien looked at Death and he shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe learning about something in history....or working on a project."
"You have a project coming up? What kind?"
"I think it's about...family stuff. What parents do and their parents....like a family tree, but with more information."
Oh god. Family history? He hoped the boy wouldn't have to present his to the class. "That sounds interesting, is there any type of focus on it or is it general information?"
Davien shrugged. "I don't know. I think I'll make mine general."
"That always works. If you need help with it we wouldn't mind lending a hand."
Davien looked up at them before putting his head back down. "Okay. Maybe later today." He looked back up at them. "Both of you can tell me something about your families."
Saix smiled at Davien. Death was right, why give this boy up? He was just so sore and depressed about Darkness that he wasn't thinking straight. "All right."
