Axel looked down at Calandra, his worried expression not hidden. "Calandra," he shook her, "don't fade on me. Come on, please." he pleaded.

"Next time you want something done, do it yourself, Squirt," she said turning her back to the Achiri male. "You love her so much? Why aren't you there with her now? Unless you want her to choose Axel over you." She started back down the street, her hips moving in a hypnotizing sway as her own frustration found its outlet through her figure and power.
Calandra woke from her nightmare to find Axel hovering over her. She blinked a minute before smiling. She held his hand tightly in both of hers. "Any luck finding the others?" she asked as if nothing was wrong. "I'll need their help in chasing off the shade...at least until Lis wakes up."

Chaston stopped, his mind racing. She's right. She'll pick him. He's got enough guts to change for her. I can't let that happen. He darted back around, zooming back into the house. "Calandra!" he shouted, interrupting Axel, "you can't choose him! You can't! You! .. Uh. You know how.. valuable," he choked on the word, "he is as an Elemental! You can't let him change for you!"

Calandra sat up with a gasp of pain. She looked at him then at Axel. She looked back at the Achiri male. "Chaston...If...If this doesn't go as planned I won't have a choice," she said. She still kept her hands around Axel's. "I'll...I've...damnit. Don't make me say it. If I don't my honor won't be worth elephant dung." She looked between the two as her body tried to shut down again. She leaned more against Axel, him being closest pulling his aura around her. "I know what he is. Despite that...he...he helped me last night."

Axel frowned slightly. "Calandra, you owe me nothing. I just.. I." he stopped, finding himself at a loss of words.
Chaston frowned entirely. "Calandra! If you change, you'll lose the territory you gained! So many centuries gone to waste! You can't do that! You have to pick me!" Though he appeared concerned, the hatred he began to feel for Axel made him slightly smile. This game that had started as getting Calandra began to turn to making Axel suffer, and Chaston began to enjoy every minute of it.

Calandra frowned. "You don't think I know that?!" she said looking at Chaston. She got up slowly and moved just out of Axel's reach but was still out of Chaston's as well. She dropped her illusion. "You think I won't remember the centuries," she growled as the old mixed with the new scars. "You...You..." She fell to her knees. "Axel...Axel...keeps her away. She...she doesn't...doesn't." She took a deep breath, pushing the pain back. "You...where were you?"

Axel wasn't even phased by the change of her appearance. He was focused on what she was saying, trying to depict what he could.
"I tried to be there for you! But you never let me! You just went straight to the newling like he was some hero. But he's not! He's just a puppet waiting for you to soften up to him and cut the strings so he can make his escape! I wouldn't do that to you!" his voice faltered, holding in what anger he could.

Calandra looked at him. "You don't seem to get it. Nobody gets it," she whispered. She narrowed her eyes. "No. You wouldn't. You'd kill me and take the territory instead." She looked at Axel and shook her head attempting to put her illusion back up. "At least his kind isn't interested in Achiri territory. If he kills me, he gains nothing. If I kill him, I gain nothing." She shook her head. "Look. Let's have this argument another time. You and him...we all will sit and talk this out when the sunset has come and gone.

Calandra looked at him her vision unfocusing as another wound re-opened. "Chaston. Enough. Just...You know what? Fine. Just fine. You want my territories? All of them? The half I offered not enough? You'll fight Alice for it then. I stick by my word and promise. I'll rescind all claim to anyone and consider all debts repaid. You get what you want. Easy territory. Ideal hunting grounds and food a plenty. You and Alice." She inhaled quietly. "Shows what I get for trying to keep this family together."
She turned away from him and crawled towards Axel and then passed him. "If I get through this night and maintain my territories, I'll release your soul. If what he says is true, you'll get the opportunity to run or destroy me." She took a deep shuddering breath. "I don't care anymore. I just don't care anymore." She curled well away from either of them, the ending lie a bitter taste on her tongue.
She inhaled sharply again as the blood began to pool at her sides. She shivered trying to hide her pain, her back to the two men. She closed her eyes and sighed again, pulling out the soul bag. She threw it behind her toward them. "You're forcing me to chose. I've chosen. Neither of you." Bloody tears slid down her cheeks as she said it, her heart started to shatter and cry out before she stiffled it like she had for years. Her barriers rebuilding around her heart, keeping all things deep in her and others out. "Live in Heaven. I'm done with this dance." She passed out, slipping beneath the cold waters of consciousness again.
