Khenu froze, then turned sharply around to see Bastet in the doorway that led to the courtyard. He smirked at her and rolled his eyes and walked out till he was knee deep in water.
He then had a quick reality check and looked back to Bastet. "Hey! You're bad!" He mumbled a few things under his breath. He never thought that Bastet would be one to tease. "Hey Bastet, how deep does this get?"

Bastet laughed, "It is in my nature to be bad, at least that is what I have been told many times before. It gets pretty deep, deep enough that I can't touch the bottom. Be careful because there is just one big drop off somewhere." She looked to where Quain was buried and sighed a little. "How much can one person, or even an angel take?" she mumbled this to herself, then looked back to Khenu. "Oh, and about being trained by me. I was thinking about suggesting that it might benefit you to be trained by someone that really uses magic. But then I thought about the Priest I knew and the fact that I want to help. I learned a lot from the Priest, even if magic isn't my forte. So it is your decision."

Khenu looked at the water and gulped. He couldn't swim, so he didn't want to encounter that drop off. So from his safe knee deep place he took to throwing handfuls of sand on the bank. "Magic huh? I thought almost everyone here could use it. And I'm not just going to use it like magic, I have something bigger planned and I'm going to need someone who can judge distance really well."
He had a pretty deep hole dug and a fair pile of sand on the bank before he waded out of the water, wringing the edges of his pant legs out. He ran around the courtyard for a moment, gathering up some sticks and set them in a pre-made ring of stones he had constructed earlier. Taking out his tool kit from the jacket on the ground, using the flint provided in the kit, he struck a fire.
He looked up from the fire and his eyes half closed for s split second then he was aware of everything again. Almost nonchalantly he asked, "What's wrong Bastet?"

Bastet shrugged and kicked at the ground some, "Nothing, I'm fine." She watched his behavior closely, as he gathered sand, sticks, and lit a fire. With the curiosity of a cat she strolled over as her tail swayed back and forth. She looked at him with an eyebrow raised, "What exactly are you doing?"

He blinked at her a moment. though not a strong empathic, he still was one but he would leave her alone if she didn't want to say anything.
Khenu reached for his pack nearby and pulled out two bottles containing two crumbly looking substance. Along with that he pulled out a metal pot that was only about six inches in diameter and placed it over the fire, using the rock ring as a support, he then poured some of each bottle into the pot and then put in a couple handfuls of sand.
task complete he smiled up at Bastet. "I'm making glass...and drying my pants, but mostly making glass for this whole project thing my boomerang gave me the idea for."

Bastet was silent thinking for a mement, then snapped back to attention and raised an eyebrow, "Making glass for a project your rang gave you the idea for? Just full of ideas arn't you?" She got in the water and started stalking fish. She didn't turn from her task when she asked him, "If you don't mind me asking, what is this project that sprung into your mind?"

((I'm only on for a few minutes before dinner, but I thought I'd say hi to everyone))
Pheaura looked in a mirror. She tried to smile, but it didn't work. With the two loves of her life gone there was really nothing to smile about. She sighed and went downstairs and straight to the library. Maybe she could find something that would take her mind off Quain.

Vik sat on his futon rewrapping his hand. It turned out being exposed to so much darkness had weakened the seal. And a weakened seal meant a greater risk of him losing control. "There. Finished." He picked up a writing brush and painted the symbols onto the wrappings and tied a necromancer bell around his wrist. The bandages itched horribly but Vik tried hard to ignore it. He stepped out of his room and headed towards the Kitchen for some breakfast.

((*kicks modem* Damn cox! It's a little rain, calm down and stay connected. Sorry for dropping out))
And the wheels in Khenu's started turning. "Well you see I looked at my rang and there's this electricity trapped in the ruby on it, so I figure that if that can capture my electricity I can catch it myself in little glass orbs; said orbs will be used as a sort of electricity bombs."
He shrugged and looked over his shoulder at Bastet. "I thought cats didn't like water..."

Pheaura entered the library and picked up a random book. She curled up in a chair in the corner and began to read. Not that she was really paying attention to what was written. It just needed to take her mind of things, but she really couldn't concentrate. She missed Quain's familiar weight on her shoulder.

((damn, my cox went out too, expecting a tropical storm and a hurricane, whee, and hiya phea))
Bastet nodded, "Very interesting. You have too much time to think as far as kids go, but you put it to good use. It is worth a try though, the glass could work like your ruby, if it is worked right." Bastet caught a fish and threw it to shore. "I'm only half cat, but that half wants some fish and we currently do not have any." A glint lit in her eyes as she went for another one and ripped it open some to stop the flailing.

Vik walked outside into the courtyard, eating a riceball. He saw Khenu and Bastet over by the pond and walked over. He remembered his manners so he swallowed the last of his riceball before greeting them. "Hey Bastet!" he turned over to Khenu. "Mornin' Khenu. I was wondering if you wanted to participate in the tourney."

Pheaura put the book up and went to the window. She opened it and dragged in a deep breath of fresh air. She pulled the chair to the window and sat down, resting her head on the windowsill. She looked out at all the life, and could think of nothing, but the death of her friend. It seemed as if death and pain followed her around and it plagued those near her just to see her suffer.
"My dear, you do suffer." Said a gutteral raspy voice.
Pheaura looked around, but there was nothing near her.

((bad east coast bad!))
Khenu was looking at his pant leg, watching the fabric dry. "Well that's the way I was raised. 'Sides when I'm not doing something I get fidgety." He squinted his eye as Bastet ripped at the fish. "Ew...but...I don't know if this will actually work, I mean I've never done this by myself before. So if it doesn't I guess I'm, outta luck aren't I?"
He gave her a infamous lopsided grin to her then looked to Vik, giving him the same grin. "Morning Vik!" He scratched his head for a moment, searching for the definition of tourney, taking as he figured he meant tournament his eyes grew wide as he pointed a finger at himself. "Me?! I'm only ten! I don't think that'd be a good idea.

((It's raining pretty bad over here to!)) "So. Your age doesn't determine how well you fight. I once beat up my older brother who's 8 years older than me." He paused for a moment, remembering that his brother has been missing for over 7 years. "Anyways, it's just for fun. You won't get killed or hurt...well, you will get hurt but we'll heal you right up! So what do you say?"
