Huck smirked. "Well, if ya wanna talk about it, I'm open for it. That is, if it's any a' my business." he said . . . shoot, with the rate things were going, escape may not be the the biggest action. He may as well just get to know the people here.

"My parents kept me in our home and garden all through childhood and they home schooled me. I had no friends... till I was kidnapped from my own back yard. I ran for the door to my home but it, along with all the windows were locked. So I couldn't escape and I had yet to know how to fly over the tall fences that blocked any sight into our vast backyard english garden. They broke a weak section of that wall and that's how they caught me. They shoved me in a barrel and sold me to a carnival that treated me like one of their pets. That is the gyst of my life. Nothing more than working for carnivals both unwillingly and willingly."
Senna spoke almost quickly. Her voice became a little more timid as she sat by the kids. She looked down almost ashamed. Some part of her, thought that her parents were ashamed of her. Her parents hated her so much to keep the world from seeing her out of embaressment to them... or that they didn't want to share her because they loved her so much. For some reason she remembered the garden growing year round, even during winter where she would see the snow fall but only melt before ever hitting the ground. Lighter than rain in their yard. A small miracle perhaps. Many times she would be home alone for days and the back door would be unlocked for her always, but why on the day she was in danger was it locked? She had to wonder if her parents wanted her gone. That they locked the door so she couldn't come back. A tear fell from one of her eyes and she reached up with the hand that she held Bobby with to wipe it away hoping that they hadn't seen a tear come from her eyes.
"It's kinda hard, to find the right words to... make friends or ask for freedom when even that is taken from you."

Huck saw the tear. He relocated from messing with the commodity meat to next to Senna, putting an arm around her. "You don't have to ask. I'm here, Senna." he said, his twangy voice brought out a sense of sincerity like a steel guitar crying through "Cold Cold Heart." It was then he silently swore he wasn't going to make the run. He was gonna stay and get their freedom. If his hung in the balance, he didn't care. Someone had to be strong here. It may as well be him.

Seth woke up when he felt himself get pushed off of Senna. He shook his head and blinked for a few seconds. He kept staring at the ground not willing to look up. He just listened to the conversation Senna and Huck had going on.

Senna perked up sorta surprised that he would come over and tell her that it was okay that they could be friends.
"I don't have to ask?"
She had a little bit of confusion as to why not. Wasn't it something that needed permission to be friends or aquantences. She was still almost as if she felt a little awqward having someone put their arms around her rather than her putting arms around others. Senna wasn't much of a physical touch kind of person let alone most people didn't want to or wanted to touch her just because of her wings. But Huck wasn't close to touching her wings, so it wasn't just to touch her wings, it meant... that he wasn't offended by her.
"You're not, you don't think I'm a freak that is?"

Huck smiled a little, almost calming. "Y'know, There ain't a thing freaky 'bout ya. Personally, I find th' wings rather cool, but I'd rather get t' know th' person. Kinda how I was raised up." he said. She seemed like a really nice person that just had a rough break in life. He could relate to that for some odd reason.

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade. Masquerade. _______________________________Hide your face so the world will never find you...Nathaniel It must be hard to be neglected. He trudged through mud, through the pelting rain. It must be hard to be ridiculed. Laughed at. Judged. He brought his jacket closer to him in this bitter cold. His teeth clenched in agony. It must be hard to be swept in the corner like filth. Like nothing that happens to you matters. He rose his head to try to see through the curtain of water. Lights pierced through the darkness. It must be hard to be hated. He knew what it was. It was a circus. In circuses, people were carted around like animals. They traveled in groups of people they didn't even know to show off. To be ridiculed. It was their job to make people laugh at them. They barely got payed, and they were known as scum. Useless. No one cared about them. No one wanted to see what they were like behind the scenes. No one even thought to realize that there were people behind those masks and freakish abilities. His hand rose to his face as he thought about theirs, his fingers stroking his own mask. White, smooth, and rock hard. It had a smile painted on. It was very similar to these carnies, wasn't it? It must be hard to live in the carnival. He trekked forward again. Then again, it's hard to live. He got closer to the place, it's features finally peeking out of the rain after a while, and he already felt a fondness for it's features. Those tents already looked homely. He soon stood in the midst of them, glancing around through the cracks that served as the eyes on his mask. He was searching for the owner of this place. All he could seem to find was a ball of black, matted fur on the ground. Tilting his head, he knelt to it and stared. He couldn't tell if it was breathing under the painful rain. Sighing, he scooped it up in his arms, not quite caring if it was dead or not. He brought it to his mask, trying to get a closer look at it.Masquerade. Every face a different shade. Kira was now a kitten. Alone in the cold wandering to find a place that might give her some shelter to protect her from the cold rain that pumbled her black fur. She stopped near the entrace, maybe someone could help her escape this awful place. To her, she saw the true looks, more so than before. Siff, he wasn't human. There was nothing human about him. A shadow slipped behind her. Infront of her. She became very frightened and scared. There were spirits all over the place, their voices of pain began to ring in her ears. "Please, stop." She thought to herself. Nothing came out but a mear whimper. There was no where else to hide, no where safe and comforting. So it was that the ball of fur curled up in the open down in the mud, it was no help to try anymore. Her new paw pads were sore and numb from the rain and dirt, her legs tired and her fur was heavy.
She laid for a bit undisturbed by anybody in the mud. It started to stick to her legs and make her more of a pathetic muddy kitten then she was before. A slight amount of surprise took her when she was picked up by a person. But her weakness from the weather didn't allow her to move quiet as much. Chilled to the bone she could hardly move at all. "mew-" a feeble meow came from the ball of fur as she was inspected by the kid. Senna smiled a little back to Huck. She liked that he put it that way. "Nothing freaky about her." Not considered normal to have wings but it was still a rather nice thought, to be cool. Senna stared at the door of the tent. Nothing but rain hit the tent walls. she felt uncomfortable to continue any further talking about her past. She had said enough she felt to get it across. Of course the feelings were so much more. The feeling of being trapped, you're fate out of you're hands, as if nothing you could possibly do would matter. "A tool, only to be used, no self worth." The struggle was a very big stress on her and very much had weakened her spirit. It was broken long ago nearly to the point where she never would have escaped if it weren't for Mel. "I miss Mel. I wish she were here now." She thought to herself.

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade. Masquerade. _______________________________Hide your face so the world will never find you...Nathaniel Nathaniel let out a content sigh at the weak noise that came from the kitten. So cute. He laughed gently, his raspy voice muffled by his mask. "Don't be afraid. I won't hurt you." He stroked the kitten's head, watching water drip off it. "I know what it's like, you know. To be unwanted." He sighed, bringing the kitten close to him. He opened his jacket and cradled the cat inside of it, shading it from the rain. Rocking it back and forth, he hummed happily. "Life is cruel. But it's not suffered alone. Be thankful for that." He stroked the kitten, feeling it get warmer and warmer against his chest. He straightened, turning his head this way and that to look around. "Now, where do you suppose the owner of this place is?" he whispered hoarsely.Masquerade. Every face a different shade. By this point the rain had began to clear up, just a little near the front end of the carnival as the storm passed. Siff found that yet another person had walked into his multi gated carnival entrance. His powers had grown so much so that he could have his gate in any place he felt fit on the planet earth. "So many willing to throw away their torturing unsatisfactory existance for this. Certainly their souls were delicious and draw me strength as well." He smiled as he thought to his inhuman satisfaction over the control and skill he now posessed with this body. He walked up to the new kid who had just stuffed his pet kitten in his coat pocket.
"Hello. Are you enjoying my pet kitten? If you wish to stay you can have her."
He stated as a kind person would. His voice clearly resounded with trust and caring but lacked true feeling. Being not completely human his lying was not only good but excellent, and his trickery knew no bounds. He could say anything it would get him what he wanted. The thousands of years of preparation and practice made him very good at deception.
Kira for a moment felt comfort in the coat of this kid. She felt safe and warm. She purred for a moment before she heared the muffled voice of what she suspected to be Siff. Someone she wanted no part of. "He made me what I am now. He took away my humanity" She moaned silently to herself. Her emotions grew strong but without the ability to speak or openly wheep as she would in her human form there was no release. It was a constant torture, coupled with the fact that she was now tiny and helpless.

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade. Masquerade. _______________________________Hide your face so the world will never find you...Nathaniel He rose his head to see a tall, blonde man approaching him. The rain had passed, so it was normal for people to be roaming about now. Sighing, he pulled the cat out of his jacket a bit, making sure the man didn't think he was stealing it. "She's yours, then?" he rasped, motioning down to the cat with his masked head. "Maybe you should take better care of your things; she was out here freezing to death." He stroked the cat, still not sure about this man and not coming closer to him to give him the kitten. Instead, he simply stood at a distance, his face lifted up to him. "I didn't come here to take anything from you, though. I came here for a job. Are you the owner of this place?" Now that he didn't have to moan over the sound of the rain to be heard, he whispered normally. He sounded weak, fragile. In fact, that's how he wanted it to be. Masquerade. Seth looked out towards the tent doors as well. The rain had finally stopped. He stood up slowly and walked to the door. He could sense that another person had entered hell. Even without his powers he could still feel strange occurrences happening around him. Without any hesitation he strolled out of the tent and began his search for the new visitor. Even if he did find them he wouldn't be able to help them. Siff had already gotten to them.

"It's okay, if anything my cat was taken from my tent by a kid of mine named Seth. I have been looking for her since. And as for the job, you may have one."
He put his hands together and stood up just as strait as when he was walking. Siff looked back down Midway where it appeared some droplets of rain still fell a little. The Carnival was not masked from young nathaniel but instead revealed as an old decrepid place that it was. Despite the lights that shown it was rather unfit looking for a carnival to run.
"This is Cirque du clandestinité. It may not look like much but I have very nice workers and top class acts. If you'd like to be apart the job is yours."

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade. Masquerade. _______________________________Hide your face so the world will never find you...Nathaniel He turned his head to look at the circus again, staring at it's barren nature. "I don't care about appearances. A prosperous land and a barren land are the same at their core." He looked at the tents around him, suspecting the carnies lived in them. His head turned back to the man. His gaze looked over the man frugally, still keeping his distance. It was curious, however, how this man let Nathaniel into his abode immediately. No objections? No questions? No curiosity? Nathaniel stroked the cat pensively. "But what about your reasons? You'll just let me join your circus without knowing anything about me?" His hoarse voice lowered in reprimand. His face wasn't able to be seen, but it could be guessed by his tone of voice. Mostly. Mischief and sarcasm might be hard to catch. Masquerade. "I don't judge... and as far as payment, I don't have much money so you'll might end up working for less then you might expect till I get this place running a bit better."
At the moment he mentioned "Better" The freakshow sign unhinged and hung from not two but only one corner chain. It swung a little and slowed. Siff glanced at is as though disappointed by the signs failure.
"Besides that I am a good judge of character. Most all of my people here are both kind, and accepting contrary to the workings of other carnivals."
He smiled and looked back to Nathaniel. Sure he couldn't see past the kids mask, and it intrigued him that the boy had a glint of cleverness. This kid could be of some use to him and could help mellow out some troubles he already had. Troubles he was quickly growing tired of. "He might become my dinner soon if he doesn't change with this." Siff thought to himself. Seth came to mind as he thought this, the boy who was nothing coming to the carnival. He found the boys magical abilities and used them in every spare moment the boy did not. It was a rather useful tool, allowing him to spare his magic for the use of anothers.
Kira curled up towards Nathaniel both afraid to fall and afraid to be taken by Siff. She felt a bond with this new kid and wasn't frightened by the way he had picked her up. "Too afraid to scare him... if I could. I'm sure no kitten has ever scared a person ever" She thought. Kira allowed the boy to pet her, more tame now then she'd ever been in her life. Broken by the spell that was put on her. She couldn't refuse such a person when she had no one else, when she was a nobody. But she did know for damn certain she wasn't the ringmasters cat. "Not his" "Not his" "I'm this kids now" "Hopefully he'll protect me."
