"Only when it comes to Board Breaker." Leyla replied. "But hey, he's allowed too since he's good right?"
Leyla smiled at her dumb logic and took a cupcake.


The buzzer sounded and the ball launched into the air in time with the start of the music once again, though the volume was low enough to just barely be heard over the chatting and cheering.
Both Captains dived forward, but Zane, being much smaller than Brent, was faster and grabbed the ball.
"Sarah!" He yelled, throwing her the ball.
"Up and away!"
Sarah nodded and her board rocketed upwards, dodging two Warriors, she then rushed towards the goal with Zane on her left and Jonny on her right.
She threw the ball up and smacked it hard with her fist, it flew forward and into the goal.
"And it's 10 to nothing for the High Town Heroes!" The announcer called.
"Yeah!" leyla cheered.

The ball rocketed out of the net back across the field and a Warrior slightly smaller than Brent cuaght it.
Zane smirked.
"Give me a luanch." He said and Sarah and Jonny grabbed his arms and sent him forward like a sling shot. He snatched the ball and circled around the guy then headed for the goal, scoring a second time.
"20 to 0!"
Brent gritted his teeth.

There was the sound of a bell and Zane grinned. It was time for things to get good.
The bell meant that Players could use their breaker Boards', special abilities.
"Heads up guys!" Zane called as the Warriors advanced with Brent holding the ball.
Zane touched a button on his board with his heel and a second booster started up, Zane shot forward. He stepped on another button and a laser light shot out of the front, hitting Brent's board.
Brent began to fall, as his board temporarilly went berserk and Zane grabbed the ball he released, Tossing it to another player on his team.
The sound of another goal being scored filled his ears and Brent regained controll of his board.
"Told you, you won't catch me." Zane said with a smirk.

"All right Zane!" Leyla cheered then stopped, her right hand flying to her left eye.
It was hurting her, along with her cyber arm.
Leyla let out a weak cry of pain and clentched Tamantha's arm.
"Something wrong..." She muttered, her bionic eye was going haywire.

"Tamantha...That's not it..."Leyla was looking at the sky with her one open eye. Her face was filled with fear.
Electricity was visibly surging along the panels. Zane and the team all stopped, looking up and when the Rain town Warriors stopped as well all heads turned upward.
"Oh God...." Sarah muttered, then everyone felt it. It was like an earthquake had gripped the city.
"everyone exit the stadium!" The announcer called. "Head for the nearest shield Zone immedietly!"
Shield Zones were areas in the city that had a seperate power source to the city in case of emergency, a barrier was set around the area to protect the citizens.

Leyla stood, "Let's go!" She said, pulling Tamantha and Divi out of the Stadium together so they wouldn't get lost.
The Board Breakers were flying above them.
"There's one this way!" He shouted down toe Leyla and the others, pointing to his left. Cracks were now appearing in the Dome Barrier above the city.

Zane lowered to the ground and jumped off next to her. People were rushing into the safe zone and the barrier was being erected. It was a plasma barrier so if any of the now falling debri hit the shield, it would melt instantly.
They had to hurry inside.

Zane looked around.
"Where's my mom!?" He exclaimed, turning his head frantically. "She never came to the game! She said she was staying home!" Zane turned to run to the apartments but Leyla grabbed his hand.
"You can't go!" She said. "The city will collapse on you!"
"She's my mother!" He exclaimed. "I have to save her!" But Leyla's grip tightened on his wrist and she pulled him into the safe zone as the barrier cieling finally began to collapse.
Zane's eyes were locked on the apartments as they begun to break apart.
Horror gripped him and turned his blood to ice.
"NO! MOTHER!" He screamed, struggling against Leyla, but she had him with her cyber arm. He wasn't strong enough to break free.

((I want Zane's mother to be dead. A little tragedy never hurt anyone. Well maybe Zane. Lol.))

Leyla covered her ears as the city collapsed around them, the barrier of the zone keeping them safe.
Zane was on his hands and knees, watching the sight before him. His eyes so wide his pupils looked abnormally small.
This...this can't be happening.....It's....It's impossible! He was screaming in his head becuase his mouth couldn't form the words.

((But I got nothing! This was supposed to be a sudden thing...How could she have time to send a message?))

((Herm...I'll see what I can come up with...))

"Zane!" Came his mother's voice. "Zane, something's wrong! The city it's...it's falling apart! I hope you're safe! I'll see you soon! I love-" Zane closed Tamantha's ring and threw it away from him. he couldn't hear anymore, the sound turned to static. He knew what it meant.
Despite the cold expression on his face, tears poured from his eyes.

When the ground finally stopped shaking, Leyla bent down and touched his shoulder. He shrugged her off.
"Zane, you have to talk to-"
"She's dead." The words were a heavy mallet on his heart. It was like the world had just stopped.
"You..." He couldn't form the words, but anger, and sorrow dripped from his voice.
"Are you blaming me?" Leyla asked, her voice cold.
"You stopped me! I could have saved her!" He shouted and several faces turned to them.
"I saved your life, you idiot! You would have died too!" She said. "Look around!"
The entire city was destroyed, every last mile of it.
"But, I! I..." Zanes eyes filled with tears again and he looked away from his friends.

"It's not your fault." Brent's gruff voice said to Tamantha.
"It's Zane's. He knows it. That beam from your board... Tell everyone what it does, Zane." He said.
Zane muttered.
"What was that?" Brent said.
"It messes with electrical fields!" Zane said louder. "I designed it...for our match...."
"Zane!" Sarah covered her mouth with her hands.
"How?" Was all Jonny could ask.
"This morning too, I saw something odd on the barrier....I should have known better...But I was being competitive..." Zane grit his teeth as whispers circled the group.
Leyla started to blink her bionic eye. It was functioning again now that the city system was destroyed.
