Serenity kept her head down, she did not want Kal to see her at a state where her total guard was down. Tears always did that to her. And when she heard kal speak, anger written all over his voice, her tears fell harder. She took a deep breath and tried her hardest to speak. "You heard my cousin didn't you? Finding you is a duty bestowed upon me by my parents. I only accepted it because of the man you were before you were given this inheritance." She sighed and laid flat on her bed, looking up at the ceiling. "They expect sp much from me, and if I denied this duty, I would disappoint them. So I had no choice but to obey them! I'm sorry Kal!" Hot tears continued to fall down her face as the second passed by.

Eyes still tear stained, Serenity sat up on her bed, moving away from Kal to keep a distance from him. "Don't be sorry, I deserved every second of it!" She let out a sigh and got up. She picked up the letter from her mother off the ground and looked at it for a minute. Feeling her own rage come, she crumpled up the letter and threw it in the thrash. Leaning on the wall opposite Kal, she looked at him for the first time in so many minutes. He still had a few traces of anger in him. She took a deep breath. "If it will be easier on your life, I'll just check out of the school! Tell my parents that you are no longer working there!" she said coldly. Crossing her arms over her chest, she turned her head towards the door. Maybe it's best if I do leave.

Serenity's anger intensified at Kal as she heard the question come out of his mouth. Without even noticing she had walked over to the bed again and got on top of Kal. Knees on either side of him, she outstretched her hands on the bed and glared straight into his eyes. "Look Kal, I'm risking my safety and freedom if I go back to Singapore and tell them that I have not found you." She sighed then got off him and sat on the edge of the matress. "I don't want to complicate your life Kal. I would say I'm doing this for you but I don't if I am..." She sighed again and went back to leaning on the wall.

Serenity stared straight into Kal's eyes, trying to find any expressions in them. Unfortunately, she couldn't. So at that, she stood up from the wall and walked over to her closet, taking out its contents and throwing them angrily on her bed. She kept her back on Kal and continued piling all her clothes, most of them black as night, onto her bed. Then, forgetting where she had put her suitcases Serenity walked around the apartment, trying to find them. My life was so much more easier when I didn't have to worry about responsibility!

After so long of not looking at him, Serenity turned to look at Kal unbelievingly. She cocked her head to the side a little then went over to stand in front of him. She crossed her arms over her chest again and stared up at him. "What difference does it make? And why would you care if I stayed or not?"

Serenity looked at Kal closely, trying to decipher what he was feeling. But no emotion came to her. She sighed and then spoke. "I did have to ask, because unfortunately for me, I see no difference it makes if I stay. Which brings me to the second question, which you didn't answer. Why do you care if I stayed or not?" Serenity wanted so badly for him to answer her that question, that's why she asked it in the first place.

Serenity stared into Kal's eyes again. Forgetting the pile of clothes on her bed, she sat down on it. Continuing to stare into those red eyes of his, Serenity again tried to find some emotion in them. She did, but she didn't know what it was he was feeling. She had never seen this before. Feeling confused, she turned away and looked down at the hem of her skirt. She thought hard about Kal's answer. He wants me to stay? I didn't think he would! I have a feeling I've been a pain in his butt since I first stepped into his classroom! She sighed and looked back up at Kal. "So you're going to try and handle the hardships of this? The fact that you are suppose to be a job for me? That my family members here will be pushing me to find you? That if they do find you, they will do all they can to make you love me?" She shook her head. "I'm not even sure I want to reveal your identity to them! You saw how I reacted to my cousin back at the party! I didn't even tell her you were the one person I'm searching for..."

The minute Kal's lips touched Serenity's, her whole mind blanked out. The only thing she thought about was the kiss that she was happily sharing with Kal. She didn't understand why but kissing him always made her feel like a different person. She didn't feel like the daughter of the leader of Singapore's big mafia, she didn't feel like her mother's one way to get what she wants, she didn't feel like the pretty girl of the entire Kyle family. No, Serenity felt just felt like a regular living vampire whose only worry in life was to find blood to survive. It was surprising how one simple kiss from this man could calm Serenity's whole world. And she loved it, all of it. Serenity sat closer to Kal, placing one hand on the arm of his hand that was on her neck, while she placed the other on his left leg lightly. A few minutes past between them as she continued to kiss him, but to Serenity, the time past by quickly. A warm feeling rushed through Serenity's veins, moving her even closer to Kal until there was not even a millimeter of space between them.
