Man...it's summer, they should run stuff a bit later. Might stop by, depends on if I see Transformers again. That movie's pee-hat.

That's ok I've been telling everyone we are going to have new people coming!

Also! To anyone thinking of going you need to sign a waiver saying you won't sue they group should something happen to you.

Just go to www.qtneb.org and open the document link and fill out the appropriate waiver (adult or child) and have it with you when you come to practice. It makes everything easier on every if you just have it filled and with you.

Ok thanks!

tch someone would have to be pretty stupid to sue a group they willingly joined and accepted the risks of combat upon participating. besides, any injury(s) received were in the name of fun. doubtful that anyone would take it that serious. as my coach used to say when we would get hurt during practice, "You'll be fine, rub some dirt on it."

nevertheless, i have informed all the members of my small group about the waiver and will no doubt be bringing extra waivers for those who may not have one.

Ahhh, memories. I remember when my next door neighbor had a giant trampoline, and her mom wouldn't let anyone on it unless they had a note from our parents saying we wouldn't sue them if we got hurt, blahdey blah.

Nowadays, it's pretty much a pre-cautionary tactic for minors, who's parent/guardians wouldn't be attending. As for someone actually going ahead and suing someone...you forget where you live. Capitalism and opportunity, AHOY! I mean all in all, pretty smart. Just a general way to cover their a**. xd

i could understand the trampoline thing. those things are dangerous! but why we need waivers for simulated live combat is just beyond me.

Well, like I said, the main thing is just to cover their a**. Problem with this, is it also gives them a ton of leniency if any of their judges, i'm not even sure what they have as enforcers, decides to be lazy. Yes, it is simulated combat, but it is also still the point, that when involved with these activities, at some point in time, weapons and flesh will make contact, and if a weapon is not set to the restrictions they give, chance for injury is that much greater.

Couldn't we just make up our own group and not go to theirs? So we can still have fun but not sign waivers? Or is that against rules....?(still needs to read rules)

And plus starting our own group would be tons of work on in itself. We would have to truely and totally dedicate ourselves to this to make it work. And I for one have a bit to much going on in my real life to take something of that magnitude on.

Furthermore we would have to become recognized BY AMTGARD before we are even a official group. So if anyone really wants to dedicate a good portion of there social life to that then by all means. But I would just come and see how things are run first before we start talking about our own group.

1) It wouldn't be all that much work. I could probably take an evening and get everything planned, from meetings points to times and that sort of thing.

2) We wouldn't have to have waivers. So long as we know who hits harder than others, we know who can and can't attack who.

3) We would most definitely not have to be recognized by Amtgard just to play. I can see where you're coming from with the official stuff, but to me it's just mumbo-jumbo. If I'm gonna play, I'm just gonna want to play. Probably just me, but I know a few other people probably feel that way too.

3.5) Adding to #3, if we decided that the Amtgard rules were too strict (in my opinion) or too loose (whoever sides that way I'll injure), we could always make our own. Personally, I don't like AG's system so well as it's too restricting. After all, I'd still be alive for at least five minutes if one of my arms and one of my legs were cut off...and I'd be able to swing a weapon, even if I keeled over. >_> Thus, I've proposed to make a seperate set of rules for casual play basing NOTHING on Amtgard (though I'm likely to include classes if I end up developing it).

4) We don't need many people to start a group. Heck - Chaos, Crixs, Cloud, Jada, Romku, and myself all enjoyed a rather good game of boffle at the last NON meeting. Six people, sure...but it was fun. I disliked the AG rules we were playing by (which is why I didn't want to play past 9:45), but getting to bum rush Romku and kill him was priceless. XD

5) My wall of text ends here. :3
