Yesh! XD It's totally the next day and I'm all pumped up to read more. I've even gone on fanfiction.net (a place I haven't been to in years) and read some Sev/Lily. Unfortunately, it turned out to be James/Lily after a while, but I quickly returned to Sev/Lily. I don't know why I keep going back to James/Lily... *sigh* Maybe I like that pairing more than Sev/Lily, even though Sev/Lily is SOO cute.

James/Lily is just too perfect. I like the idea of a Sev/Lily affair. It's so... exciting. Dude, I totally read a fic the other day. It was with Sev/Lily/James, but instead of Sev/Lily having an affair, it was James/Sev. It was so crazy.
Whenever I type "Sev", I accidently always type in sex. Stupid fingers with their devillish habits.

(James/Lily is sweet, but I actually prefer Sev/Lily. I'm like that with a few of the canon pairings.)

Yeah. Honestly, though, I can't really see it being an actual loving relationship, with how much they really hate each other. Or, maybe they really did like each other at some point in time, and that's why they hate each other so intensely. Personally, I just like the angsty James/Sev fics, though. Seeing them so... lovey dovey just doesn't sound... real.

I can see them being perversely attracted to each other because each sees in the other some of what he hates about himself and some of what he wishes he could be. Snape sees his own arrogance in James and wishes he had James' personality, charisma and Quidditch skills. James sees his love of power in Snape and wishes he had his dignity and (for a while, at least) his close bond with Lily. On that basis, I could possibly see them being together - not in the traditional sense, but as a sort of attraction that each of them wishes they didn't have but can't get rid of.

I can see that. But still, as you said, it's not a relationship in the traditional sense. It's not like they love each other solely and truely. It's more just admiring a certain few qualities that the other has, or even envy. It's just an attraction of qualities, not a deep bond that they have together.

I think it's something akin to being attracted to your own dark side and the allure of the 'bad' in all of us. In the case of James and Severus, they might have each seen their own dark sides in the other and couldn't help being fascinated.

Full of their manly pride, they wouldn't actually let their attraction or admiration really be known, though. Not Severus, because... I mean, James is a Gryffindor. Plus, he was a stupid p***k that was getting the girl HE wanted. And, James wouldn't admit it because... Severus is a Slytherin, he's greasy, and nasty and... hell, Sirius would never let James live it down. NEVER.
