Jack and Kate began their departure, and as they began walking through the trail, something seemed to be moving swiftly between the branches. Kate was curious, but figured she must just be seeing things. Charmander however could sense the presence of a pikachu. For a little while he kept walking along beside Kate and sniffing the air, navigating the precise location of pikachu. Finally, charmander quickly broke away from the trainers and a thud could be heard from behind a tree where charmander ran. Kate was shocked at charmander's sudden odd behavior, but was delighted when she went behind the tree and found both charmander and pikachu rolling about playing. Pikachu was very young, and didn't mind playing with a domestic charmander. "Awee!" said Kate; "Jack, come have a look here! This pikachu seems lost, they aren't usually found in these parts, you think I should take her?" Kate picked her up and cradled her, pikachu stretched to lick Kate's nose. "Charmander, I think you've got a new playmate, we're keeping her!"

((can we say that we already had an item? like can i say that i've been hanging onto this thunderstone that i got a while back?))

"Ya, I already have a thunderstone, though I think I'm gonna wait a while to let pikachu get a bit more skilled and older, besides, what if she doesn't want to evolve? And the gym leader, I know he'll be tough, but with pikachu on board charmander and her will be able to rise to the challenge I'm sure, they'll both need a lot of training though, let's find some trainers."

"C'mon guys, it'll be good fun, and if you're goin up against the next gym leader, we could all use some training." Kate persuaded. but in the back of her mind she wondered if maybe charmander might be a little tired, she looked down at him, he seemed to be his energetic self, so kate didn't worry about it any more.

The sister looked at her brother, then scanned Kate and Jack, "I bet we could take em." She said, "Alright, your on, you know the rules, keep in clean and play it fun." She let out her pokemon, ((you can choose the pokemon, I don't know which I wanna use)) and got prepared for battle.

The sister released a Mudkip that didn't look very old or very strong. Judging the type of pokemon it was and the skill level that it appeared at, Kate decided she would give pikachu a try, after all, charmander was at risk if he went in because of his weakness to water while pikachu had an advantage. "Alright pikachu, what do you think? You wanna give it a try?" pikachu ran into the battle field as eagerly as charmander had when she first obtained him. "Alright pikachu, you can do it!"

Kate smiled over at Jack, she felt even more confident about the battle since she had jack's help. "Pikachu, use thunderbolt!"
