Kimiko pouted but followed after her irately. Nevaeh couldn't possibly sense how...malicious this aura was. Kimiko wondered vaguely whether this was a good thing to do, following this girl she hardly knew when she herself could get killed but she shook her head in digust, of course it was.
They came to the correct alley way and, at the mouth of it, stood in gaping horror. There was a man of about twenty-something and what seemed to be a sparrow-boned child with fine blonde hair of about seven with huge blues eyes. It looked so fragile and innocent. THe man, to Kimiko's disgust, held the child in his arms, pressing her little body to his. She turned her head, bile filling her mouth. She heard a shrill scream and turned to look. The man was no more. The child stood there, dripping in blood, mouth coated in a thick layer of crimson. Kimiko gagged and it heard them, turning to watch.

Nevaeh was behind them, having circled back around while they scrambled after her. "So that's one of the children..." she murmured.

Justin watches, wide-eyed and shocked, and begins backing up.

Kimiko blinked as the creature came towards them, wiping its mouth on its little dress, a terrible confection of purple silk and lace. She smiled sweetly and reached her hand out to Nevaeh, a look of placid sadness on her face and for a second, Kimiko lost her thought...poor child, she should help...but she jerked herself back and sent the child flying into the brick wall where it slumped over helplessly, unmoving.

The child sank into the earth, which slowly started to smoke somewhat. The child was too deep for any scream to be heard.

Kimiko grimaced as she watched the spectacle. She couldn't harm that child-looking creature. She sighed and closed her eyes, trying to sense another aura but it came to them.
"Koko, aren't you finished with him yet?" came a gentle voice, melodic and pleasing, childish and soft. Another child-thing stepped out a door in the alleyway. He was about seven, it seemed, too, with mussed brown hair and wide jade eyes. He was so doll-like and Kimiko couldn't help it, she stepped forward and ran a hand through his brown silk hair. But his eyes glinted, a frightening and blood-thirsty look and she pulled away. A delicate gold chain was barely visable around his collar and she gave a start.

Justin sees the creatures near Kimiko and Neveah,and without thinking much, charges forward, ramming the one nearest Kimiko.

Kimiko looked at Justin and frowned slightly. Her heart tugged painfully at her ribs and she had seen that chain, was this the leader, the one with the amulet? She went over and thanked Justin in a soft voice and crouched next to the child who bore a look of shock and pain. Around her, she formed a thin physic barrier that wrapped around like a second skin and so she cradled the child in her arms, a self-satisfied look on its little face now.

I hope she knows what she's doing... Nevaeh thought, watching them for the moment as the ground stopped smoking where the child had been.

He watches Kimiko talk to the thing. "It looks just like a kid, but.... no. It's not a child..."

Kimiko nodded unnoticeably and continued to pat the child's hair. "My name is Loki," the boy purred, as happy as any cat. Kimiko smiled down at it. "Loki? An interesting name for a child. We must, mm, be going now..." Kimiko said, wavering. They had to get away and plan how to get the necklace from the child but his eyes filled up instantly with big tears, "Don't leave me!" he cried, clinging to her. She picked him up gently and over her shoulder, he stuck his tongue out at Justin and Nevaeh. Kimiko's eyes glazed as she picked him up and her breathing slowed. She wasn't herself anymore, it seemed and the child clapped delightedly, had its mind tricks really subdued her? It seemed so until she grabbed the chain around its neck in one movement and yanked it off. She child made a pitiful gasp and looked frightenedly at her, holding itself to her with more force than before.
