Heck yes freakin metallica. They were good back in the old days of metal and rock, but now they are just old guys that are trying to make a quick dollar. And I dont know how many people kept saying that manson was metal, but I always just thought of him as a freaky weirdo that sucks major.

Because they turned to s**t after ...And Justice For All and that wasn't all that good anyway...but some people like their newer stuff, such as The Black Album, Load, Reload and even St. Anger...and I havn't got a problem with that. I just think they blow now.

around the first few pages of this thread i posted metallica
Well that ******** changes! I saw them for free in london ontario and they rawked my ******** non existant balls! Rob trujillo ran off stage and grabbed my hand (FRONT ******** ROW AGAINST THE BARRIER!) I drank from lars ulrichs cup and kirk hammett came over to me because i kept shrieking his name and he gave me a big ol' smile and wink!
thank the monkeys they only played 1 song from st. anger, and it still sucked, but they played allll the classics!

Metallica has been done for god knows how long. In the old days they were good but got way overplayed and got bored of them fast. I would have been listening to Testament or iron maiden or megadeath instead. they do need to give up just a bunch of gold diggin drunks now...

I would love to jump on the bandwagon and say Metallica...but im gonna come to Metallica's defense here instead. It looks like just about everyone has said that they should have quit after the Black Album, but Load, Re-Load, and Garage Inc.(No I havent forgot about St.Anger Im gonna comment on that later) werent bad at all! Sure they werent quite as heavy as their older stuff like Master Of Puppets, And Justice For All, and The Black album (I didnt mention Kill 'em all or Ride The Lightning because their sucess was massively due to Mustaine.) but they still rocked! I think that they were just starting to try something new...something different besides the same old savage riffs that everybody was accustomed to. I wouldn't rag on them too hard for trying something different...As for St.Anger I think the main reason that everyone thinks that it totally sucked balls was due to the fact that...well quite simply it wasn't metal! If you saw the movie that they made you know that once again Hetfield wanted to try something different and so you notice the lack of kick-a** guitar solos we have all grown to love by Hammet. If you think about it, most of the songs on St.Anger wouldn't suck so hard if you inputted some solos in them. As for their playing ability...they are still ******** touring and rockin the stage just as well as any other band. Im convinced that Hammet is one of the best guitarists in metal...Alls they need is to put out one more kick a** album that has more of a Master of Puppets sound to it and they would be back in business and everyone would love them again. So im gonna have to say NO Metallica should not quit, and I dont think they are planning on quitting anytime soon or they wouldn't have hired Trujillo...

I agree with Jadilus, as long as a band puts on a great live show, their cd's can blow as many asses as they want. Hell, i think thats the only reason KISS was even popular... i cant see people actualy LIKING that crap. i heard a few weeks ago that gene simmons had a solo album. i about fell out of my chair laughing.
