scarlet gulped...again this was new to her this whole city all the dirt...ugh it made her sick, no dark hues alwayse sunshine...and the homemade stew was aparently a delicacy compared to how the girl was dressed, but no matter. she filled her bowl and promised herself that she'd stop complaing.
"so..." she gulped again after forcing down what she hoped was just an iregularly large peice of meat.
"...do you have a name or would you prefer for me to call you midget like they do, or little mute considering you really dont tend to talk much"

The girl looked up at Scarlet sourly. She turned her gaze down to the stew in her hands, she swirled the bowl thinking quietly. With a shake of her head she set the bowl down and stared pointedly at Scarlet.
One finger rose up and she shook her head no. A second digit rose again she repeated the no. Then with a little huff she tapped absently at her throat.
"Nn....nyy.." she said, trying hard to speak. Her face squashed up frustration nagging at the child.
"Nn..Nyy.. Nyyuu..." she sighed, and nodded her head.
"Nyu." Was what she was able to brokenly force out. She pointed to herself, looking mildly disappointed. With a shrug she pattered back to her bowl and finished it.
The thick door suddenly swung open and Bear thumped in, shutting it behind him. With a grumble he plopped down pulling Nyu up and to the side with only a hand while fetching food for himself.
"Wellp ya two might wanna jus' hunker down fer the evenin'. I dun see no wussy fire nation punk or some water bender." he grumbled, and downed a whole bowl as if it was a mere swig of a drink.

at the sound of bears grumbleing scarlet quickly stood up
"what do you mean he's not there!" she tried to shake off her rude comments in order to thank him for the food and hospitality and that she really had to get going. Which beleive me as really hard considering she'd never had worst hospitality and it took every ounce of civilness in her to not burn his face off
"well i really have to go......(trying to insert a thank you here but she cant get the guts too)......um....yeah....goodbye nyu..."
she felt bad for the girl, she wondered if that really was her name or if that was the only thing she could say because she was sick or something like that...but scarlet had never met a mute before so she secretly hoped the girl would get better as she walked out the door.

Unknown to where Scarlet and the kid got of too he wanders the earth kingdom of Omashu. He starts to fire bend trying to gain control of it, not knowing that it would actually be a bad thing.
"I wonder why this doesnt burn"
Unknown to him, the earth kingdoms was well awear of the invasion of the northern water tribe by the fire nation and thoes of the fire nation was not allowed in. And there he walked playing with fire
