If him being a teleporter is the case than by no means is he just someone who freezes things. Teleportaion can be looked at three ways. 1> he's actually transferring his essence from one gaseous host shell, reforming a similar shell, and then pouring his essence back into it.
Or 2> he's shifting his body from one dimension to another where time moves slowly and space shifts randomly, just so that he can re-enter his original dimension in the location he was in the other dimension 3> he is bending time and space itself around his body.
In any case his powers would go way beyond freezing things. If he is a teleporter his ability to absorb heat comes from something extradimensional. A dimension which is completely void of heat, and absorbs it itself. He Would be someone able to open gates to that dimension and have its heat draining ability effect whatever he is freezing.

My theory...any mutant that may be considerred Omega doesn't draw power from themselves or their own body. So much power would only be in the hands of someone who is able to get access to a dimension and control its power flow. 3nodding
Since Storm's powers are not extra dimensional there is no way she could beat someone with a limitless power flow.

You're first guess is the closest one. Again, Drake can break himself down into water's base elements, Hydrogen and Oxygen gas. Now since moisture is ALWAYS present in the air it means that in otherwords, Hydrogen and Oxygen is ALWAYS present.

That is to Hydrogen and Oxygen IS the ever present moisture in the air.

That said, when Drake breaks himself down into a gaseous state a.k.a. Hydrogen and Oxygen gas he's amongst they Hydrogen and Oxygen gas that was already in the air to begin with. He's literally blending in with they already present Hydrogen and Oxygen.

This means that Drake can reform himself with any of these Hydrogen and Oxygen atoms.

I mean who says he has to reform himself in the same place he was when he first transformed into a gaseous state. There's moisture all around. He can reform himself at any point.

Make sense?

Let me put it to you like this.

Let's say you had an ice cube.

You put it in a glass of water and after some time it melts.

Now, lets say you want that ice cube back.

You don't go through the trouble of finding the exact portion of the water that was originally ice now do you?

You simply just take the ample amount of water from the glass you need to fill up one block on in an icetray and freeze it.

Voila! You have an icecube the same shape and size as you had before.

You many not be able to guarantee that it's the SAME WATER that FORMED FROM THE MELTED ICE but what does it matter?

The moment that cube melted in that glass of water it became ONE with the water anyway.

So it just means that the cube and the potential to be reformed from an even greater source of water rather than just the small portion of water that formed it in the first place.

The same principle applie when Drake breaks himself down into a base Hydrogen and Oxygen gas and blends with the Hydrogen and Oxygen gas moisture already in the air.

He can reform himself from any portion of this moisture, which is EVERYWHERE so he can REFORM ANYWHERE. Thus, he VIRTUALLY is teleporting.

Which brings me to the next point.

You're whole heat theory is off kilter.

Drake can control atoms on the level they exist. In his case specifically he simply eliminates the presence of heat buy slowing the vibration of atoms.

Remember...COLD IS THE ABSENCE OF HEAT.

Let's take the moisture in the air.

It's made of Hydrogen and Oxygen gas.

The reason IT IS gas is because of the high kinetic energy of the Hydrogen and Oxygen atoms. In this phase they are very loosely spaced from one another at greater distances and constantly riccocheting off of one another aside from that.

Because they are so loosely bonded this is why you cannont hold air and since they are in their atomic state you cannot see them. You cannot see air (THE HUMAN EYE CANNOT SEE ATOMS) nor can you hold air.

Drake can fix that.

The high kinetic energy between atoms exists because of the presence of heat.

HIGH HEAT = HIGH KINETIC ENERGY

So...how do you get rid of the high kinetic energy? YOU GET RID OF THE HEAT.

Drake takes away the heat energy of the atoms making them MORE TIGHTLY BINDED TOGETHER.

NO HEAT = NO KINETIC ENERGY

NO KINETIC ENERGY = NO MOVING ATOMS.

Now since these atoms can't move away from one another this means they are NOW BONDED TOGETHER and UNLIKE A GAS WHICH HAS UNRESTRAINED BONDS.

In otherwords....NO MOVING ATOMS = A SOLID STATE.

Now we're talking about water molecules/moisture in the air.

That said what is the solid form of water? ICE.

SOLID STATE OF WATER = ICE.

SEE?

And remember MOISTURE IS ALWAYS PRESENT IN THE AIR.

So...ICEMAN = CAN TAKE THE KINETIC ENERGY FROM ANY ARRANGEMENT OF ATOMS BY REMOVING HEAT.

NOW I JUST SAID ANY ARRANGMENT OF ATOMS MEANING HE CAN PICK DESIGNATED AREAS IN THE AIR

AND

HE CAN GET RID OF THE KINETIC ENERGY/REMOVE THE HEAT OF CERTAIN ATOMS TO FORM EVEN AN ICE CONSTRUCT IN THE SHAPE OF HIS p***s IF HE WANT.

Make sense now?

Drake doesn't control heat. He rids anything and anyone of it via this method. Thus, he turns it into a solid state since there is no heat to give the atoms kinetic energy to move around and in water's case it forms ICE.

Hmmm...ok.

He can turn into a gas state. Hydrogen and oxygen. The body is made up of alot more than hydrogen and oxygen meaning he is somehow able to temporarily get rid the atoms that are not oxygen and hydrogen. Later on when he reverts from his gas state, he can call those other elements that make up the body back. This means he is able to transmute things and alter the nature of elements. If he wasn't able to do this then he wouldn't be able to become a hydrogen oxygen gas at all (being {by your own reasoning} that if he could become a gas using all the elements of the body, it would form something other than the hydrogen oxygen form that allows him to reform and reconstitute so easily).

So lets run through his abilities.
With your way of explaining his teleportation his powers seem more psionic than they do elemental. Not because he can reform himself, but in order for him to reform himself he would need a power like astral projection(shifting his mind and spirit from place to place being it must be shifted from one vessel to another which he creates).

He can remove kinetic energy (freeze things). You say he doesn't have access to a dimension void of heat so that would mean that it wouldn't be possible for him to freeze the whole earth's surface. Why? arrow Because something doesn't just simply freeze. Energy is not simply lost, it can't be destroyed, it can only be transferred. Kinetic energy is no different. To freeze the entire earth it would take a lot of time and a long period of time at that. Like o...lets say.... a few million years and the last time I checked Drake wasn't immortal. If you are saying my cold dimension theory is wrong and Drake can not rip open a pocket to it, than there was no where for that kinetic energy to go. That would mean that all of that heat would have to go somewhere fast and that would basically mean setting up an ice age in a flash. Do you know the conditions needed to create an ice age? The consensus is that several factors are important: atmospheric composition (the concentrations of carbon dioxide, methane, sulfur dioxide, and various other gases and particulates in the atmosphere); changes in the Earth's orbit around the Sun known as Milankovitch cycles (and possibly the Sun's orbit around the galaxy); the motion of tectonic plates resulting in changes in the relative location and amount of continental and oceanic crust on the Earth's surface; variations in solar output; the orbital dynamics of the Earth-Moon system; and the impact of relatively large meteorites, and eruptions of supervolcanoes.
Freezing the earth's surface can't really be done any other way. And since it can't be done any other way except for the cold dimension theory, you would be wrong. He does have access to another dimension completely void of heat, and that would mean that in order for him to freeze the earth's surface he could simply rip open a bigger pocket into that dimension. That way the heat from the earth could be transferred into it.

Not necessarily. I never said the heat enery was destroyed, just removed. Since it's the catalyst for high kinetic energy.

That said when there is higher kinetic energy it means there is lower potential energy, the energy of posistion/condition.

When the hydrogen and oxygen and freezes over it just means that it has more potential energy rather than more kinetic energy when they were gases. All that kinetic energy is simply converted into potential energy.

Yes, indeed his teleportation is psionic. You are dead on my friend. blaugh

Though I wouldn't underestimate Drakes ability to freeze the Earth's surface. Let us not forget we are talking about a superhero and one of the most powerful evidently. I mean heck, we already have Superman who can juggle planets. I wouldn't say it's inconceivable for a character to be able to destory it or even freeze a planet entirely.

In fact, Drake's abilities are more psionic than one may think and he may be able to tweak those factors since he can manifest his powers on an universal scale as Deadpool stated here in an earlier post.

As for his organic ice form theory you stated. It sounds reasonable but I'm not going to dismiss it as my source doesn't state the specifics but it seems that he relies mostly on moisture to reform his body in the event it is destroyed.

That's said again, I'm NOT going to say that your theory on is farfetch'd.

Oh...I am not underestimating him at all. I am only saying that in order to freeze the entire planet he would definatly need to have access to a dimension that would quickly allow an exchange of kinetic and potential energy. smile With this way of reasoning it's easyier for me to see him as being an omega. This way I can see him having near endless potential.

Did anyone watch the 90's cartoon? I was very much into as a small kid. I remember an episode of that that really focused on Storm. In that episode she was taken to another planet. While on that planet, it's rulers trusted her to control not just the weather in a single area, but the weather of the entire planet. It wasn't easy for her, but she did manipulate the weather conditions of the planet completely.

Does anyone remember this?

Mad Jim Jaspers (616) is, going by feats, the most powerful mutant ever.
